I needed my wedding dress altered (as well as add a bustle), and was looking for someone who was talented and attentive to details. Melissa is exactly that. Melissa has a sweet demeanor and she was very accommodating to my schedule since I lived an hour away from her. I had to make a few visits to get the right fit and Melissa didn't make me feel guilty for coming so often. In the end, my dress was fitted beautifully and I was extremely satisfied. You may have a beautiful dress, but alteration/fitting is what's going to make you look stunning. Absolutely amazing service. I was in contact with Melissa about getting my dress steamed before my wedding. I was coming in from out of town and she agreed to open early so that she could have the dress done in time before she had to leave out of town by noon the day I arrived. As soon as I left, she calls me asking me to come back because there was something wrong with the dress, and I needed to look at it. Apparently, the seamstress who originally did my alterations (over $500 worth) did them completely wrong, and HAND STITCHED the top of the gown to the bottom. The stitching was unraveling, separating the top from the very heavy bottom. This seamstress also just didn't do the correct alterations for what was needed for the entire job. The bottom of the dress would have completely come down at my wedding had this error not been found. Now, not only did Melissa push back the time she was leaving, she only charged me $60 for an order that would typically cost $290 (rush order). I did not have an additional $300 to get this done, and she was so compassionate about my situation. She had to go in and re-do a very difficult job so that my dress was perfect for my day--and it was. Melissa is an angel, and I am beyond thankful she was so generous and helped me foe my big day. read more

I honestly wish there were more stars to give than 5. Melissa was an absolute PLEASURE to work with, on top of being professional, communicative and a true genius with fabric. I was a bit apprehensive about moving to Durango before our wedding because I didn't know who would be available to alter such an important piece of clothing, but she rivals any bigger city seamstress or tailor. Melissa saw the vision I was going for and made alterations that not only brought it to life but also flattered my particular shape. I was also worried about finding undergarments to support my busty frame but she was able to magic (or rig, I'm not sure which) a perfectly supported dress to where I wasn't even wearing a bra. Melissa is fabulous! She truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND! She is very kind and attentive to what you are looking for in how you want your dress to look! My dress fits like a glove and I cannot wait to wear it on my wedding day! Story Time: For my second fitting with Melissa, while she was pinning the hem I got very light headed. I asked to sit down and asked if she would bring me some water and she did. But unexpectedly I passed out and unfortunately threw up, and peed my pants while unconscious. This is all while I was in the dress!!! I was horrified to wake up covered in puke and urine. Melissa was extremely accommodating with this horrific occurrence. So anyways, I get up and get out of the dress and we proceeded by rinsing the dress off as best as we could. I was reluctant to take the dress to the cleaners in fear they would ruin it. Melissa assured me that everything would be alight and that she could clean the dress. I left the appointment mortified and completely embarrassed but Melissa was so understanding and kind. She texted me often with updates and pictures and some how managed to get all the stains out! She really went the extra mile with this crazy situation.
