Had to get the famous breakfast burrito (bacon, would have gotten chorizo but I had a feeling it'd be too greasy). The cheese, potato bits, egg, and bacon are all cut up into a homogenous mass before put inside a soft tortilla. Me personally, I like my burrito innards heterogenous so I can target a bite here and there. The side salsa was not too hot but gave it the flavor it really needed. Overall, a satisfying burrito but for $16, I'd definitely recommend friends in the East Bay try Mezzo's breakfast burritos.

I am on the hunt for MY perfect breakfast burrito. I just moved to Oakland about 6 months ago, and I had read an article that put Kelly's on a list of great ones. I work around the corner, so I figured I guess I better try it out. The customer service is lackluster. I've been to many places, where Spanish is their first language, but their customer service is still top notch. And, here. They're just they're to serve the food. And I get that. But, I also believe that if they kicked up that customer service, this place would be more memorable outside of a random HD. And obviously, it's outside of an HD, so depending on the day, parking can be wild. People can be wild. But it was fairly quiet on this Saturday mid morning. It took about 10 minutes, and thankfully it was a beautiful day. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon, and it was tasty. And I'm going to admit this to you right now, I am what I like to call a pansy when it comes to spice. Whenever my friends tell me "it's not that spicy" I tend to roll my eyes at them. This burrito was a little too spicy for me, and I could have used some ketchup (yes ketchup, it's a breakfast burrito) to cool my mouth down. Was the burrito good? Yes. Was it huge? Yes. Would i eat it again? With ketchup or sour cream? Yes. Is it my perfect breakfast burrito? Sadly, no. My hunt continues.

We got a super al pastor burrito that had no avocado or sour cream, and a breakfast burrito that was wrapped so poorly, that one entire side was missing the tortilla (how does that even happen??). See attached photo. When we showed the manager what the breakfast burrito looked like, he apologized and offered to remake both burritos and provide us with two drinks on the house. My al pastor burrito was ok, there was an unusual subtle banana flavor in the burrito that was off putting. The remade breakfast burrito was far better. The crunch of the bacon added a nice texture to the burrito. It was hearty enough to have for two meals.

BIG chorizo breakfast burrito. Best thing on menu. Well balanced.

Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Vibe: - TAKEOUT ONLY - fast and efficient service - literally in front of Home Depot - Mexican people go here Food: - Best breakfast burritos in the east bay???? Maybe tbh. Highly recommend (6/5). I prefer mine with chorizo, but they offer bacon, ham, and sausage too! - salsa offered is fire (like spicy and good) - chicken torta (4/5) - Food is FILLING

Who would have guessed that this unassuming shack next to Home Depot would have the best breakfast burrito in Oakland? What a hidden gem! What makes the Bacon Breakfast Burrito so good? The eggs, bacon, cheese, and hashbrowns are all well-incorporated leading to the perfect balanced bite. The bacon is crispy, and I'm a big fan of the hashbrowns versus home fries / potato chunks. It's also a great value at $10 and should satiate the hungriest of appetites. The Carne Asada Super Burrito is solid, with good flavor in the steak, but there's definitely better in Oakland. The salsa, while a good complement, is pretty spicy, so I would recommend getting it on the side. Finally, they don't have a phone number to call orders in, so be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes, though they do have some grab-and-go items. Definitely worth the wait though! Looking forward to trying the Breakfast Quesadilla and Torta next.

For something already made when I got there, the bacon breakfast burrito was really superb! It had hash browns, egg, cheese, and bacon -- simplicity at its finest. I've been craving LA style breakfast burritos, and I'm so happy to have finally found one...even if it's at a Home Depot! (My only complaint is that the salsa is awful and tastes tinny. This burrito deserves a better salsa!)

Chili fries!!!! Found this place a few years back. Always loved the breakfast burritos... It was a while since I've come back, decided to try the chili fries, I was not disappointed.

The Breakfast snacker with sausage is my current obsession here - I had one just now and I had to leave a review on it. It's that good. Between the gooey cheese, saltiness of the sausage, and fluffiness of the egg and muffin - it's the perfect breakfast sando. Forsure better than McDonalds. Their breakfast burritos good too; kinda pricey for a burrito, but it might be the best in our area so that's ok with me. Tortas confirmed good as well. Also love that everything's made so quickly and that they don't skimp on sauce when you ask for it!!

Kelly's is a little food shack connected to Home Depot by the Check-out exit. Dogs, sandwiches, burgers and a few Mexican items. I've had tacos which are a bit large than your standard street taco (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kellys-deli-emeryville?select=ucNA-9SYotiDnrHlKGry5A), a Polish sausage (think Costco food-court), and a torta which is served on the same roll as their sandwiches and cheesesteaks (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kellys-deli-emeryville?select=E9Z7ouLnaJ62avoAThWWww) and had lettuce and tomato (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kellys-deli-emeryville?select=tuNQvBUbpyl9tDwrD2ijzw). There was a bite or two with beans and a few with some shredded cheese . . . not sure if those were supposed to be all over or just remnants of their quick serve operation. Nothing to write home about, but beggars trying to run hardware errands over lunch can't be choosers.

They have a modest but solid selection of Italian deli meats (Serrano ham, prosciutto, pancetta, etc), pasta, olive oil, vinegars, and a couple specialty jams (calabrian chile orange, etc) - basically all you'd need for a gourmet charcuterie board meal or snack. Last time I was here, picked ip a bottle of nicely aged balsamic vinegar from Italy, which has lasted me for a couple years. Today, decided to try one of their specialty Italian sandwiches with a shot of expresso on the side... and Mama Mia was the sandwich absolutely amazing! I highly recommend the Jamon Serrano & Manchego sandwich ($14.50). It comes with shaved ribbons of serrano ham, 1/5 inch thick slice of aged manchego cheese, a creamy spread of chevre goat cheese, chopped/marinated artichokes and arugula greens on a crusty/crunchy baguette (between half to a full foot long). I practically finished this within 10 minutes - it was so good! The expresso shot ($3.25) was also a good pairing for me. Loved the aroma, made from nicely dark roasted beans. Inside the venue there's shelves on the back wall, with Italian dry goods, oils, vinegars, jams, etc for sale. Seating indoors is about 5ish tables for 2 or more. Outside sidewalk has a couple tables too. Located on the corner of 9th & Washington St, mostly metered street parking in this area and a small hourly parking lot across the street.

There is limited indoor seating if you're looking to chill for a bit before heading out to the rest of your day... perhaps in Jack London Square, where it's situated. It's a cute delicatessen/restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Immediately the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The woman at the register was very nice and asked if we had any questions. My mom and I shared a pastrami sandwich, Brussels sprouts, fries, and slaw. It was reasonably priced for the Bay Area. When they brought the food to the table I was shocked. Everything looked amazing and very appetizing, and the portions were much bigger than expected. Before she brought the sandwich over, she asked if we were sharing it and was so nice to split it into 2 plates for us. That was very kind for her to do. Let's start with the French fries. Omg they were perfectly crisp but still fluffy on the inside. They had so much flavor probably because of the beef tallow and had just the right amount of salt on them. There was a side of mayonnaise with the fries, and it tasted homemade. I meant to ask them if it was. It was very good lol I couldn't get enough. The poppyseed slaw was very refreshing and it was tangy and sweet. We loved that the cabbage remained crispy and it was great for a warm day. The fried Brussels sprouts were full of flavor. They were a nice balance of sweet and salty. I loved the bacon on them. The hot pastrami sandwich definitely satisfied my pastrami craving! There was just the right ratio of meat-cheese-sauerkraut-mustard-dressing. The bread tasted freshly baked as well. It was full of flavor. And the side salad that came with the sandwich was excellent. We loved the tanginess of the dressing. We were shocked that there wasn't more people inside, but also for 2pm on a Monday, it probably was just an off hour. We had so many leftovers as we both don't eat very much, but lol as soon as I got home I started eating some more of the slaw and salad. Can't wait to eat the rest for lunch tomorrow. We are already planning on coming back to try the meatballs next time and definitely trying their Indian cuisine! I'll have to bring my husband here next. Thank you guys for an amazing lunch!

Awhile back, I tried to bring as much business to Star Meat as I could because 1. it's a small business and 2. it's inside Star Grocery (which I LOVE, so it's convenient). When I would go there, there would often be 2 or 3 people behind the counter and oftentimes I would be the only customer. I felt like I had to stand there forever before anyone even acknowledged I existed. Each person would be busy doing something, but there was no "I'll be with you in 2 minutes." Finally, I went one day and there were 3 workers behind the counter chatting with each other. I was the only customer and was standing around 6 feet away from them, looking right at them. They went on with there conversation (not doing any other work) for a full 5 minutes. Finally I thought, "OK, they really don't seem to want my business, so I can go to any one of 4 other places and get what I want." That was a year or two ago. So, today I thought, why not give it another try, it's certainly convenient. Again, I'm the only customer at the counter. One guy is washing equipment and two guys are making sandwiches. I know that they know that I'm there, there are mirrors all along the back wall exactly for the purpose of seeing the customers. After around 4 minutes I think, who knows how long I'm going to be standing here. Maybe they have to make 20 sandwiches and I'll be here for a half hour. So, I left. I don't have anything like this experience at the 4 other meat counters I go to in the area. I'm totally fine waiting if I have some sense that I'm waiting for a purpose and that the worker will get to me as soon as they can. But at Star Meat, it feels like I'm more of an inconvenience than a customer. "Hi, I'll be with you as soon as I can," goes a long way.
