She took a very cursory look -- at the wrong spot -- before prescribing a strong steroid cream and then running off to the next patient. The cream made the situation worse. I indicated this in the follow-up survey (ugh) that the practice hounded me with for days. I got no response. Does this sound like good medicine or caring to you? I will not go back to this practice.

He doesn't push unnecessary treatments or cosmetic procedures. Instead, he gets right to the point, listens to your concerns, and recommends exactly what you need. If an affordable over-the-counter option will work just as well, he'll tell you that, too. I truly appreciate that kind of honesty. His demeanor is friendly, caring, and professional, while also being incredibly informative. He has a genuine, sincere concern for his patients and makes you feel completely at ease. It had been approximately a year and a month on this day. I think it's bad for patients, and bad for business that they would refuse me my results especially when my diagnosis was relayed via the phone and the diagnosis was not going to change since I hadn't been treated due to Illness and taking care of sick and dying family members. They could improve greatly by being more compassionate about serving their patients and changing their policy if that is actually a policy with their office.

TERRIBLE!!!! My daughter had a cyst on her chest removed. A week after it did not look right, we…read morewent back and they said it was fine. Still not seeming like it was healing right, we went to a different practice. He said it looked like a keloid and treated it, did not change, so he sent us to a plastic surgeon. He treated it to soften it for surgery for year. When he was able to finally do the surgery, he asked how many stitches the original derm (mindful) used to close the incision. They didn't use any. He said it looked as if some of the glue they used got into the incision and that is why it formed the keloid. I was so mad! Not only did we tell them it did not look right, but they obviously did not do a good job since they got glue in the wound. I have never gone back obviously, And while I did go there at that time, I will say they over charge for all of their esthetics. I feel they are more about money than how than anything else.

My sister had developed some brown spots on her back, along with a small skin lesion on the side of her nose and a larger wort type growth on her forearm. She hates going to doctors, especially for every little thing. Our sister who has assisted her with care since she lost her husband 4 yrs ago, said she was concerned about some of the areas and we should really get them looked at soon. Her nurse practitioner recommended she go to a dermatologist because some looked concerning. I tried to get an appointment for her but had very little luck since the few dermatologists in the area were not able to see her for 4-6 months. A relative recommended Rash Decisions and Dr. Marchand. She drives from her Dallas office to her Beaumont office a couple of days a month. Her website gave me a clear list of services up front, including the cost for a full body skin cancer check, which was what she needed. I was lucky enough to get an appointment for her the following weekend, when the Doctor happened to be in town. My sister has a very low tolerance for pain, but Dr. Marchand was very understanding and gentle. I feel like she took her time and was not rushed and fully explained every concern we had. She reassured us that the moles and brown spots were normal part of aging for some people. She removed the two areas her doctor's office was concerned about. They were sent to pathology to be checked further (with her insurance covering that part). My sister said she felt like she was in good hands the whole time and we were glad she didn't have to wait 4 or more months to be seen. However when I arrived at 115, not only was I not on the list, but I was not permitted to go upstairs and purchase the expensive item I needed AND the office staff was IN THE OFFICE. UPDATE! I received a phone call from Dr. Marchand's office very apologetic for the mixup. I received erroneous information from someone on staff. I made an appointment and they gave me a trial injection of collagen. Nothing untoward happened and so I received the full treatment the next week. A few days later the skin around my neck started to priclkle and a strange lesion appeared on my left shin. I was due to go to Australia and while I was there my body swelled...a different part every day. I had my skin tested and the Australian doctor said that it was a severe allergy from some sort of drug. I don't take pharmaceuticals so I knew then what it was....the collagen shot. I arrived back in the USA with still swelling on different parts of my body. I called the company who supplied the collagen and they said that I was supposed to receive two trial shots of the collagen....not one! I have had spongeotic dematitis on and off for 25 years....sometimes fairly mild but other times devastating. The visit to Lori Stetler's dermatology practice has ruined my life.
