I had an amazing experience here! I brought my car in to have them review recommendations that another shop gave me to get $3,000 worth of work done. Kevin was incredibly nice, worked efficiently, and gave me his honest assessment that I only needed to do about 5% of what the other shop told me I needed, which saved me thousands of dollars. He also took the time to explain everything to me to make sure I wasn't worried about not getting the services. All the other staff were also incredibly nice. I would highly recommend, even if you need to drive a ways to get here, it's worth it. read more

Happy day, happy car! I had a muffler work done on my car from a different shop and was misinformed about the affects it would have on my car. Did some research, read about Kevin the manager and the shop and decided to take a 30 min drive to go see him. Got there at 8:10AM and was told Kevin wasn't around yet. So I waited about 20 minutes for him instead of talking to someone else. And I'm glad I did! Let me start by saying I'm really picky and super ocd. I do not trust mechanic shops bc there's a lot of shady ones out there. I like to watch the work being done and watch the process. Because I want to make sure they're doing what they say they will do. Kevin is professional, honest, knowledgeable, and most importantly he was kind. That type of personality just plays such a huge role in managing a business and retaining loyal customers. He gave me some options, fair pricing, and a fair return policy if I didn't like the work. I never felt pressured into anything and was able to do things the way I wanted to. He supervised the work being done and jumped in to help when he was needed. I watched as he did it with other mechanics during this time too. This place is HUGE. They have a lot of mufflers and exhaust options and Kevin will definitely work with you. Alfredo who was working with him was nice too. Kevin provided exemplary service and my car turned out how I wanted it to be! They offer a myriad of services from exhaust to repairs to tinting and I am planning to come back to see Kevin for some more work when I am ready. I went in to get my catalytic converter replaced I had my part already direct fit the mechanic said no less than 800.00 to replace I knew that was crazy so I took it to moons on Marlboro pike in Capital Heights MD where I was only charged 290.00 for the same thing so you do the math over price is an understatement I will never go back read more

My car is 10 years old and the stainless steel exhaust rusted through causing the muffler to fall out. I pulled the muffler off and drove over to Kelley Muffler expecting the job to be involved. The dealer parts list was almost $2 thousand plus labor and the job manager said "I can fix this with mild steel for $150 or Stainless steel parts for $250". I opted for the stainless and they had me out the door in 90 minutes. They were able to rehang the old muffler with the proviso they didn't warranty any parts other then what they installed. The tech also spotted a dead rat trapped in the engine compartment and pulled him out. The waiting room is pretty good considering it's an auto repair shop and the staff are good about masks. 10/10 I will recommend them read more

My daughter (22 yrs old, college grad student, and new car owner) brought her car in for an inspection. After 3 hours and $100 later, she drove away with an expired NYS sticker on her window and nothing different on her car. Two months later, we found out from the NYS DMV that they don't accept MD inspections. This was news to us, we had no idea. So she drove around MD with an expired inspection sticker for over 3 months, and Kelley's never told her, just took her money and let her drive away. read more

My family hasn't had a great experience with this place. First, we had a remote starter put on my mom's car. Somehow, the guy that did the work here disconnecting wires for the car's A/C, and was dogmatic that he didn't do anything wrong. Toyota had to fix the issue - there were wire clippings in the floor of the car and Kelley's is the only place that had worked on the car. Then my dad had window guards put on and they weren't installed correctly. Go somewhere else. read more

I'm pretty picky and when it comes to welding or exhaust work i have always been happy with Kelly's since the old location . Some old school custom car work gets done at Kelly's however they may not be the best place for the 'need my windshield wiper blades replaced for 5$' crowd. All customers are important but i think the mechanics work better when the task is interesting and not boring 02 sensor jobs. Last thing i had done was getting my custom exhaust built from parts for my BMW. The tech was grinning like a kid playing with LEGO . I love these guys ! Happy 2020 Kelly! read more

First visit to drop off a damaged rim went great. Donald (front desk) is the face of Kelley's and he does a great job as the first impression of the business. On the same day I spoke with Mike in accessories about getting tires installed and balanced. He specifically told me to ask for him and he would negotiate the $160 he quoted since I was having other work done also. I was told it could take up to 5 business days to get the rim repaired and back to me. I dropped the rim on March 15th, after calling 3 times, I received a call March 28 instructing me that the rim was ready. I arrived at 1pm March 29, gave them the key to my car and waited, waited and waited. I spoke with Mike in accessories to confirm our previous conversation...... Of course he doesn't remember. The standard $40 per rim was applied in this case. Upon entering the business, there is a huge Customer Service Pledge posted. Mike in accessories obvious needs retraining because his attitude towards me was less than perfect. I will admit, I was not happy during the 4 hours of being there just to have tires mounted and balanced and Mike's attitude towards me was not helping the situation. I gave my Discover Card as form of payment, Mike stated they only accepted Visa and Master Card. I reminded him that I paid using my Discover Card when I was there on the 15th to drop the rim for repair. He said he had to check with a GM. He disappeared from the counter returning 5 minutes later never issuing an apology. His attitude towards me remained the same. Upon processing my card, he place the card and receipt on the counter top and walked away returning seconds later to retrieve the receipt. Still waiting for my car to be ready, Mike handed over my key and said "thank you" as if it killed him to say so. I will return ONLY if the work they performed does not hold up. Other than that, I will not return to this business. Mike in accessories attitude is by far the worse. read more

I called to ask about having a vehicle MD inspected. The cost was 100$, this higher than the prices I got from 4 other places nearby- 65$. The difference was Kelly's said they did it while you wait. The other places wanted me to leave my car over night, something I'm not in a position to do. I went there, 40 minutes after calling them. The inspection technician had disappeared for the day. I was told I could wait or call back to check and see if the guy would be back in 30 minutes. This was about 2:30 in the evening, an hour after lunch and 3 hours before they close. They failed to tell me on the phone the tech was gone. I wasted my time & gas driving there from NW DC. I'm not sure if I would give them another try for anything else, especially when they are charging 35-40$ more than everyone else for the same service that they can't even deliver on. read more

Great customer service, not great pricing. Came in for a flex pipe problem and found out I'd have to get it replaced. They quoted me $350, which I thought was OK but still wanted to shop around. Went to a place right down the street where they got it done for $150. Kelly's has a great front desk staff and was able to get an estimate pretty quick, but they definitely weren't the best option for what I needed. I'd recommend, but also advise to do research before you commit. read more

Worked with Carlos to have a lift kit put on my brand new Ram 1500 Laramie. Price was reasonable so decided to go with them. Had appointment set for 8am but when i got there at that time Carlos told me he wouldn't be able to get to the car until after 10 so dropped the truck off at 10am. I never heard from anyone all day so called at about 4:42 PM and Carlos told the tech would need about another hour and they would call and let me know. I never heard from them so called again a little before 6PM and was told the truck was ready but there were two issues with the truck. Carlos stated the first issue is the front axle came out during the install but it would not impact the drivability of the car as long as it was on road but would create major problems if the car was used off road. Also, when the car is on a lift with the wheels hanging the axle would slip out. I explained to him that this does not sound correct and from the research I had done in preparation for the install found that no one who had installed a lift kit had these problems or would be limited to just on street driving. The reason lift kits are installed is to allow for off-roading. When I shared this with him his response was "those forum members install in their driveway with jack stands so they would not experience this but its normal". I told him that made no sense to be and I would need to see what he was talking about and scheduled to pick it up the next morning when he could put it on the lift to demonstrate what he was telling me. The next morning I arrived at the shop to discuss the issues and visually capture what he was talking about. He did not put the truck on the lift to show me the issue discussed and said the install was done correctly and not to worry about it. The other issue was he could not do the alignment since the truck was brand new. He agreed to subtract the cost of the alignment as I would have to take care of it on my own. I took the truck to a reputable repair shop who was able to do the alignment. While about to perform the the alignment the technician identified damage to the axle as there was tremendous amount of bearing grease that was pushed out of the axle boot. He, as an installer of lift kits, said this occurred due to the installation of kit being done incorrectly and explained that they didnt remove one part of the suspension correctly which caused the axle or axle boot to be damaged. There was grease on the entire lower axle and inside and outside the wheel. He wiped some of the grease from the area to inspect for damage to the boot, which he located. I called Carlos and let him know that the tech had seen the issue and told me the cause of the damage. Carlos told me he and I were not discussing the same issue and I told him I will be taking it to the dealership for them to assess the damage. I fully expect to be reimbursed for any damages once the dealership assesses the damage. I am very disappointed as the truck is a $66,000 dollar investment that I entrusted to Kelley's Performance & Kustoms since Carlos convinced me that he had the experience and would take care of the vehicle. I am nervous to hear the cost of the damage and knowing it will not be covered under warranty will be looking for the company to cover the cost of the damages plus any follow on work to get the vehicle back to new condition. read more

Originally, I went to a chain auto repair shop to get an engine diagnostic. After first being rushed out of the chain shop and not getting the problem fixed, making an appointment at the chain's sister shop and finding out they did not have a technician for engine issues, I found Kelley's. I called first to see if they would be able to check my car then or if I needed to make an appointment, I was told to just stop by. The gentleman that's in the front listened (I was upset because the other shop were not able to service my car) patiently to my rant and responded so kindly. He understood my problem. I was able to take my vehicle to the shop the same day and have someone to check it, have the part ordered for the next day all in under a hour. I went back today to have the part installed. I wasn't there long enough to warm my seat. The part was installed and my engine light is off. There were four other services that were "recommended" by the other shop. Turns out I only needed one of those services. read more

I've been in and out of KPK since 2011. I will say before I traveled to the facility, I also tried to call and get service. My service over the phone was not too pleasant. Its like the mechanics are too busy and annoyed to be courteous over the phone. idk maybe they are.BUT, after being dragged down to the shop with my dad I soon discovered that you actually have to come IN PERSON to get anything done. Since that day, I have had my 98 Tahoe (duals), 2005 dodge ram (duals), and 2011 dodge ram R/T (duals) worked on at this shop. All decent experiences. Also had my cousin, who was in town from NC, bring here car here after a untimely muffler problem and she loved it. Plan on bringing my future cars/trucks here. My work here has had problems though, dual muffler hangers break loose 2-3 times, but they repaired them each time for free, even once when my 1 year warranty had surpassed. Great job as always. Have had 2 radios installed, windows tinted, remote start, and an alarm system done here. Mike in audio/accessories is always helpful. Be warned, they are constantly busy, so sometimes patience is necessary, but the job they do is good. Only reason it's not a 5 is cause they don't always clean up perfectly inside your car found some cut wires in plain view on the floor.... a vacuuming inside the car after spending 1000+ would be a nice touch to leave the customer feeling good. Still, a 4 out of 5 business!!! read more

These guys were great! I walked in, the guy at the counter was so respectful and nice. He was dealing with a customer but looked back and said "I will be with you in a moment" with a smile. There were 4 cars before mine to get an estimate. I waited about 15 min before they called me back. That was the first thumbs up from me. Secondly, they SHOW YOU WHAT THEY SEE!" They let you get under your car and they will point out the part(s) that needs to be fixed. Quick back story for you, I was told about 2 months ago that I should junk my car. My muffler system was rusted, I needed new CV joints, and new front brakes ( so they said ). I have a 1991 Honda Accord SE with around 205,000 miles on it and the body is still good. The guy's at Kelley's said that was ridiculous because I just had to replace three parts of the exhaust system and not the catalytic converter (which the other mechanics said...*cough* Circle Exxon *cough* that I had to get replaced). I told them about the front brakes and the CV joint and they said the front brakes will be replaced for $85 if I get my own front brake pads. The CV joint isn't an emergency at this point so I'm waiting on that. They were also fast and thorough. I could watch the whole thing happen right before my eyes which I really appreciate since I spend a lot of my time and money on my car. Total was $350 dollars. Amazing compared to the $1000+ they were quoting me at Circle Exxon on Connecticut. Go here for great service, quality work, and straight up answers for your car! read more

The aluminum rim on my car had bent which was causing my tire to leak air. My choices were to buy a new rim - which would have cost almost $600 - or to try to get it replaced. Kelley's came highly recommended. The shop is pretty bare bones and seems to be in a somewhat shady part of Prince George's County. However, if you can get over that, the work done here is exceptional. I found the people to be really professional. They took the tire, told me the time it would take to get it fixed, and they met the deadline at a very reasonable price. I am very satisfied and highly recommend Kelley's. read more

Well I don't know what to tell you about the looks of the place but as far as a muffler place and the customization place it looks pretty regular to me the service I got was straight up front and agreeable I went in with the 2002 Toyota Land cruiser with a busted muffler and I got a great quote on getting the muffler fixed they didn't try to sell me a whole exhaust system they only told me what I needed and show me what was wrong I walked out of there with a quiet Landcruiser and a bill of a total of 180 dollars when other people quoted me 850 dollar. So if you need a muffler I would check them out. read more

I had a really good experience at Kelley's -- came in for a rusted-out muffler flange that my normal mechanic didn't have the equipment to handle. Arrived right when they opened and was seen about 15 minutes later. Once they had my car on the lift, they call you back into the shop to discuss the issue with the mechanic -- I actually got to walk under the lift and see the issue first-hand and discuss my options. After deciding on the flange replacement, they performed the work in under an hour, at a decent price (saving me hundreds on what a full new muffler would have cost). Would definitely recommend Kelley's for muffler work -- I was very impressed. read more

Awesome place. They give you free estimates. I got there and the customer service was great. There was lady by the name of Dee at the front desk who was very polite. Once the mechanic was ready they called my car make and model over the intercom. Dee asked me to go to back of the garage when they called my car make and model. There were clear directions posted on how to get to the back where the garage is. Once I was back my car was already lifted the mechanic told me a flex pipe needed to be replaced which would cost $200 for parts and labor and it would take 45 minutes, I agreed for the job. I went back to the front and I was able to pay by credit card no extra charge for using credit card. The charge was exactly $200. I was told I could go back to the back of the garage where you sit and watch the job being done. I was very pleased with my experience with this company. read more

I needed my muffler replaced so my mobile mechanic recommended this place. I kept putting it off because it's not in the greatest area and I'm a woman, so my safety is EVERYTHING. However, I had some extra time this week and decided to head over. I'm a blunt person so I will be honest and say the place is definitely not the nicest looking outside or inside but I didn't let that deter me and nor should you. I arrived around 11am and they were relatively busy. It took them about 45 minutes to get me in to get the diagnostic and then they took me to my car asked me why I brought it in and then explained/showed me where the issue was occurring. The estimate to replace my muffler was $160, I agreed and gave them permission to proceed with fixing it. After another 45 minutes, I was back on the road. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and professional, the price was AMAZING and they got me in and out in less than 2 hours. I got this done 2 days ago, my car is super quiet again like it should be AND I passed the MD emissions test today. They also offer a 12 month warranty on their work and parts. I'm a bit confused by this place and it's customer service as well as the knowledge of the mechanic. I called to get a cost estimate on a brake fluid change/flush and the mechanic's response was, "why do you want to do that? I've never heard of that." He didn't make a recommendation for a different service or anything, just 'no.' Then I explained that my dealership stated that I need my brake fluid changed/flushed because the brake fluid was dirty and the car did not pass VA inspection as a result. The mechanic then says, "I've never heard of that." Well sir, I have written paperwork I can show you from the dealership who did the inspection. Clearly this mechanic has no idea what he is doing and his customer service is horrendous. I would have expected them to at least make a suggestion of a service that would fix my situation or ask me to bring the paperwork by. This is unfortunate because I had heard good things about them. I had a leaking exhaust and they fixed it for me really cheap! I was in and out about 2 hours(Saturday) better prices then other places

Not very skilled in custom exhaust tasks. Technician who worked on my Jeep exhaust can't do simple clean pipe bends or fit it between tight spaces. Quality is unsatisfactory. Had to wait for my turn in the "que" just to get an estimate which took very long. On a good note Marcos there is excellent at customer service. I would not recommend custom exhaust service there I will not be using them again for other services. read more

I ALWAYS go to Kelly's for work done on my car. I always end up with reasonable prices even prices that beat the other competitors. Mike & Luie is the go to men at this place. I been going here for 3+ years since I bought my first truck. I trust them first honestly. & Ms. Dee is the receptionist here, she is always so friendly and helpful when I come pass her desk or call on the phone. I had LED lights done, catalysts converters, stereo installed, subwoofer installed, tires/rims, Front alignment, Axel, etc. At least come here to shop around for prices when looking around. 9/10 They beat the competitors. & Don't RUSH their services, they have a quote you should read when you first walk in... Something along the lines of fast service vs slow service, etc. Pretty catchy if you think about it. Sorry bout the other yelpers who couldn't have the best customer service or work done properly. I had an awesome experience there today. Typically I am very wary of going to auto shops alone as a woman because I have had so many experiences where I am overcharged due to my lack of knowledge. Not only were the mechanics and customer service staff incredibly friendly, but they were respectful of my time and money. I went in for what I thought was a muffler problem and after they inspected my car they brought me to the floor and showed me that it was a broken pipe and gave me an estimate and asked if that was a price I was comfortable with and broke down each expense for part and labor. In addition when checking out the woman at the front desk made sure to emphasize that all parts they put on have a 2 year warranty and to come back if I had any issues. I was so blown away by the service I got that I plan on going back to have them install a new stereo in my car on Friday! I definitely would recommend them, the work was good, the price was great, the customer service was excellent and they were timely! read more

I searched the web for an exhaust shop in the Washington, DC area. The reviews for Kelley's were better than all the rest. I have a 04 Toyota Tundra and needed headers and oxygen sensors installed. I ordered the part and had them when I went into Kelley's. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and polite. I was called with an estimate before giving my approval to complete the work. The service technician asked if I had any questions related to the work before he started. He let me know how many vehicles were in front of me and gave me an estimated completion time. He called me at the end of the day to tell me my truck was ready but I was not in the area to pick it up. He politely told me that it was not a problem and that they would store it overnight for me to pick up the next day. I went in the next morning to pick up my truck. I had a great experience when I brought my pontiac G6 in. It had been running loudly for months and other mechanics tried to charge me over 300 to fix and an additional fee just to look at it. I was referred here by someone working at another shop. He said they were experienced and reasonable and he was right! I took my car in after calling to make sure they had the parts to replace my flex pipe. The ladies at the front desk talked to everyone as if they knew them and kept me informed about the status of my car without making me feel like I was bothering them. I waited maybe 30-45 minutes and the guy called me back to show me the cracked flex pipe and explain to me that my mounting brackets were causing the flex pipe to crack (which no other shop explained). I don't know anything about car engines but the mechanic made it easy for me to understand. He didn't try to pressure me into to paying more for the additional repairs he just wanted to make sure I was informed. He even offered to replace the flex pipe under the warranty even if I never got the brackets fixed. I left paying much less than I expected and my car was finished all in an hour and a half. They offer much more including vehicle accessories with a spacious waiting area (which a lot of other shops didn't offer when I called around). Definitely recommend taking your car here. read more

Took my 2015 Sierra truck to them to ask about installing Flowmaster outlaw series exhaust the lady at the front desk informed me that they gave free estimates and to put my name on the list also asked about window tint she gave me a price of $160. to do my truck thought that was a bit high about 15-25 minutes later my truck was called over the intercom the lady at the desk told me to follow the footsteps on the floor to the bay area once i went through the door my truck was up on the lift and the mechanic was waiting on me.. He asked what I wanted done I explained and showed him a picture of the exhaust I wanted to have installed he suggested that I should go with the super 44 muffler instead of the outlaw series and that I didn't need to purchase the one from Flowmaster which came with the pipes he informed me that they bend pipes and stainless steel would be best but cost more he also showed me some chrome tips to choose from.. Went home and went on YouTube to decide which Flowmaster to get and decided on the super 40 muffler so within the next couple of weeks Kelly's Kustoms will be installing my Flowmaster's super 40 exhaust and the price was 1k bucks even. Yes I would recommend to a friend. read more
