Best guitar store I have ever been in, hands down. They always have a fantastic inventory of a wide range of guitars and amps. Every one of the guys who works there is very knowledgeable and could not be nicer to work with, they all obviously love what they do. I have bought an amplifier and three guitars there over the last couple of years; these guys appreciate your business whether you're spending a lot or a little. The only problem is, I want to go there all the time and buy more, more, more... read more

I've been a Customer for years. Too me there is not a better Music Store in the World. I Love visiting there. Kelleys employees and Owner are so Friendly. You feel so welcome that it's just feels like Home. When I get stressed out, one visit to Kelleys and I immediately feel relax. The selection is Great. Some of the best Guitars anywhere, Both Budget and Top end products. Great selections on Pedals and Amps as well. When it comes to Guitar products, it doesn't get any better. Kelley's Music - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Roanoke, Virginia

I am so very proud of Kelly's Music. Ron is super nice, and so very helpful in making sure that I received exactly what I was looking for, and then made sure that I was happy with it. I went there looking for a good electric guitar, and Ron guided me to the right one. He and his staff are above all the other stores in Roanoke when it comes to service, knowledge of their products, going the extra mile to make sure customer is satisfied, and happy with their purchase. They have treated me above and beyond any expectations that I had. I give them 5+ star rating, but really they deserve higher than that. Go there, you will not be disappointed. Russ Parrish very satisfied customer. read more

Very nice, local music shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice to see a local shop that's geared more to the electric player although they do have acoustic guitars as well. Support your local guitar shop! read more

I have been dealing with Ron et al at Kelly's for 40 years. I have never been let down. I recently purchased an A/B/Y switch to run a violin and guitar through the same amp at at church. The switch uses a 9V battery. I called Ron about getting an adapter to plug into a six-way rather than feeding it batteries. Ron informed me that he would have them in a week for about $15. Then he told me the switch was passive and only used the battery for the lights to let you know what line was hot. This is why I deal with Kelly's. There's another music store in downtown Roanoke who will not think twice about screwing me. I will pay a little more at Kelly's brick and mortar store than Amazon because these guys have always had my back. That customer service is priceless. Thank you Ron, Corey, Adam, Jim, and Fred. read more

I've been to a lot of mega-chain music stores (Sam Ash, Guitar Center, etc.) and a slew of Mom & Pop types, too, in the 35+ years I've been playing. I'm always greeted when I come in to Kelleys, the people there know you on sight once you've been in a couple of times, they are helpful, all that stuff. I have nothing but good things to say about the place and the people! My only gripe is that I'm not independently wealthy so I can't afford to buy the high-dollar guitars that I drool over each time I'm in there. There's always at least one guitar that I just know should come home with me, but alas, things like a new roof or something like that takes precedence in the real world.... The spread in their selection is quite good, from beginners to serious players, they can accomodate your needs. They do tend to balance a bit more towards the beginner's and mid-level player's end of the spectrum, but I can see why--it's quite costly to hold pro-level gear in stock over time, it's simply slower to move out the door than beginner- to mid-level gear. They also tend more towards electric players, but their acoustic selection is nothing to sniff at. read more

often too busy (as empty as it is) to wait on you properly. I do love my snark! one good sale!

Great place. I've bought a few guitars, amps and cymbals here but now I buy mostly vintage stuff. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Ive been seeing the same staff here for the past 12 years, which is good. At most guitar stores the staff can be kinda smug to inexperienced guitar players but I wouldn't think these guys would be. The only complaints I have is the small parking lot but it's never really bothered me in all these years. I would say this is the best guitar store in Roanoke and in surrounding areas. I've never took lessons so I can't grade them on that. read more

I have been using Kelley's and referring students there for YEARS. They keep in stock the most common things our students need, including the "next level" guitar according to their interests and abilities. Kelley's people have ALWAYS met our students where they are, have always taken plenty of time with each player, and have never pushed an agenda. What's amazing is that Ron and the gang can meet internet pricing in a brick and mortar store. They have never disappointed anyone I've sent there. I often call with a list of specs I'm trying to meet on a budget, and lo and behold if Corey or Ron don't pick the exact thing I need, and have it in stock. Laid back, interested in the long-term relationship, and spot on with recommendations within budgets. I love Kelley's Music. I, too, have been to Sam Ash in Manhattan, Guitar Center (in Manhattan), and shopped musiciansfriend.com. Kelley's blows them all away. No need to look anywhere else, unless you're a hundred miles away. If you're only 99 miles away or fewer, go to Kelley's. read more

Horrible service here. You have to wait on staff forever before they get to you. Some of the staff is very rude. I play the drums at Cave Springs High School and I would never tell people to buy drums here! read more

I have been buying guitars and musical equipment at Kelley's Music since the place opened decades ago. The staff is extraordinarily knowledgeable and helpful. There is no better place that I know of to buy guitars, basses, drums, and related accessories than at Kelley's Music. If you are in Roanoke for music, and you do not go here, then you missed your chance to go to one of the premier independent guitar stores in the world. read more
