I originally saw a nurse practitioner for my annual physical back in March 2024. We had recently relocated from California and I wanted to receive an annual physical. Annual physicals are included as preventive services under the Affordable Care Act meaning patients cannot be charged for an annual physical (see 42 USC 300gg-13 https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=(title:42%20section:300gg-13%20edition:prelim)). The annual physical was a nondescript experience and I answered the questions the nurse practitioner asked me. Unfortunately, I became very sick in August 2024. After a few days I tried to see Dr. Fernandez and was eventually able to get in to see the nurse practitioner. The office tested me for influenza A&B, COVID, and strep which all came back negative. I told the doctor my son had experienced similar symptoms a few weeks earlier and eventually developed pneumonia. I went home with no medicine. Five more days passed and I was feeling no better and had developed a hacking cough which led me to strain my oblique. It was incredibly painful. I again called Dr. Fernandez's office and was able to get prednisone and a Z-pack prescribed to me but not a cough suppressant because they wanted me to be seen again in a couple of days. They also wanted to perform a chest x-ray which could not be done on site. Because I was feeling so terrible and was in so much pain I ended up going to receive Total Access Urgent Care. There I was able to receive an x-ray the same day which revealed I had pneumonia. They were able to provide me a shot which gave instant relief and a cough suppressant to help moving forward. This was done at a cost of $150 after insurance was provided. I informed Dr. Fernandez's office of this diagnosis and, to there credit, they were apologetic about the care I received and they stated they wished I had seen Dr. Fernandez for my annual physical instead of the nurse practitioner because we had no prior relationship. There appeared to be a lack of trust on the Dr. Fernandez's end in what I was saying because of the lack of relationship. However, if new patients are not provided the opportunity to meet the doctor I don't know how I could have handled this differently. Now to the part that has me incredibly frustrated. A few weeks back I received a bill for the August visit which I don't dispute. However, tacked on to the bill was a charge of roughly $200 for the annual physical in March. At no prior point had I received a bill for this service which made sense to me because the insurer has to cover the entire cost of preventive services which includes an annual physical. Unfortunately, Dr. Fernandez's office had coded the care incorrectly causing a dispute with my insurance company. Currently, her office is refusing to change the coding leaving my insurer unable to cover the full cost of the annual physical. I would highly recommend not seeing Dr. Fernandez as she likely won't be able to see you in person as a new patient, won't trust what you tell her as a patient when you are sick, and then try to screw you on billing. I could not be more disappointed in the services I received from this office.

I read other reviews posted online regarding Dr. Lambrechts prior to selecting him for consultation/opinion. He overwhelmingly received 5 Star Ratings in other reviews. I found those reviews to be consistent with my interaction with him during my visit. Dr. Lambrechts discussed future procedures and tests with me; and provided an overall explanation of the health of my spine. Moreover, I found him to be an excellent listener/doer and cared about his patients. Dr. Lambrechts is a role model to others in the medical field. I was at my wits end regarding serious concerns/issues still lingering for nearly two years ago. He provided me with hope and a positive outlook on my physical and mental health, and a sense of calm. He is truly a jewel. I would recommend him to others seeking not just an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon but one you would respect for going above and beyond in administering care. He invalidated my feelings, invalidated me as a patient and invalidated me as a person. During the rest of the appt he made unnecessary rude remarks. That was one of the worst Dr appts I've ever had. I tried to use their patient portal to send a message to a doctor, but I couldn't fill out one field in the note, which was location, which is a required field. You cannot fill it out, it doesn't work, and it's a required field. So here I am without any way to contact my doctor. This is the large facility on Tesson Ferry. It was already starting to go downhill the past 2 or 3 years. Their manager is a btch. But now it's just sad.

They ordered it for her that day, without asking, and It was pricey. When she started taking the med she had a serious side effect that he denied was from the med. Every phone call he returned about the side effect, simple questions like "should I stop taking the med? Is this normal?" he charged $190. Each. For a quick phone call. We're about $1000 in and my wife's health got worse and needs other medical follow up, which we're looking for elsewhere. He reached out after she complained about the charges and threatened to leave, he said the charges were a mistake but I'm not confident that's true. I'm a holistic kind of guy, this doctor is not what he appears.
