I dropped off the car and sure enough, they were able to complete in a short period of time for the quoted amount. While the starter works great, the installers did not do the best post-install cleanup. I definitely would recommend them to anyone else looking for a starter install!

Long story short my windshield made friends with a rock resulting in what I thought was a significant chip. I scheduled a chip repair and arrived for my appointment. The service representative took my keys and went to inspect the glass. He arrived a few minutes later and told me that there was no need to worry as it was a just a surface ship which does not need repairing. He also took the time to educate me on when a chip needs to be repaired vs not. He saved me a significant sum of money and I also learned a thing or two along the way. I was shocked to see some poor reviews. I can't question the experience these other customers had, and I've never used a Groupon at Johnny's. What I have done is take both cars to Johnny each and every year for his full interior and exterior detailing service, and each time I'm completely impressed that the cars come out looking brand new. I am totally satisfied with the work and service I receive at Johnny Buffit's and recommend him to friends often. Once I even had a maintenance appointment for one car at the dealer shortly after having it detailed by Johnny. The person at the dealer who is responsible for portering and prepping new cars for customers asked me where I'd had it detailed because he had never seen a car that was a few years old as our was look so perfect and new. I completely trust and rely on Johnny Buffit's to service and detail my cars and will continue to do so.

Just falls down on my Volkswagen, leaving a giant crack in my windshield and huge dents on my roof and hood, among other body damage. (Funny enough this is the second time a tree has fallen on a VW that I own and third time a tree has fallen on my property in general. I seem to have sucky karma with trees. Anyway ...) We knew we needed to at least repair the windshield before driving the 10-12 hours home. The body work could wait. Considering we were at my family's lake house in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, there were not any auto glass repair shops in town. A quick Yelp search led us to the Safelite in Rice Lake, about an hour away. We called their automated number, gave them our insurance claim number (they work with State Farm) and got the next available appointment, which was on Monday, the day after we were supposed to be home. So we took an extra day off and showed up with a car full of luggage, hoping to get a new windshield and then continue with the trek home. Thankfully, Safelite was on time for the appointment. They finished in just shy of an hour and a half, which was on the low end of the time quoted. And they pulled up the relevant insurance info. We ended up not owing any money out of pocket for the windshield. They even moved the sticker with info on my next oil change to my new windshield. Driving home without their help could have been a nightmare for lots of reasons. Thanks, Safelite, for taking at least the worry about the windshield off of our plates.

So I put on the correct year, make, and model. I received a quote for $399. I chose a time and got a confirmation e-mail and text. The final price with tax was $437.80. Sales tax is 5.5% or $22.95 so they added $16.85 worth of miscellaneous charges that didn't show up until the service appointment was made. I drove 45 minutes to the facility in Rice Lake, only to find they ordered the wrong glass. They could get the correct glass the next day, great, but the price went up to $531. I asked if they would honor their original quote, especially after I drove 45 minutes to a busted appointment. They said no. They didn't seem to care and were totally unapologetic. Unfortunately there is no option to give them zero stars, so one star will have to do.

The business was small, but warm and friendly and he told me to pop in whenever and he could write up an estimate and deal with Progressive even though they are not one of Progressive's providers. I was very lucky to get my car in within a couple days because of all the flooding, auto repair shops were jammed. They kept in touch by email and phone to let me know the status. They had my car for about 15 days because they had to order parts as some were not repairable and also they are not open Saturdays or Sundays. When we did go to pick up my car, the work was fantastic, even better than I thought it could look. I was happy to support a family owned small business. A couple days later they made it look brand new my front bumper, grill, and emblem just needed to be replaced. They polished the hood to match with the front bumper, cleaned & shined my headlights, and vacuumed the inside leaving everything 100x better than when I left it. And the paint job makes it all look brand new. Couldn't recommend them enough!!!
