History
Established in 1945.
Founded in 1945 as Sumner Rider & Associates , Kellen Communications is a division of Kellen Company, an employee owned professional services firm with offices in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington D.C., Brussels and Beijing. Kellen Communications has 40 employees in its Public Relations, Public Affairs, Interactive and Creative groups and is affiliated with the 112 member agencies of The Worldcom Group.
In the six plus decades since Kellen Communications was founded, the tools that we use to deliver results for our clients have changed, but our mission to exceed client expectations has not. We are committed to delivering results that have a meaningful impact for our clients.
Meet the Manager: Joan C.
As Vice President at Kellen Communications, Joan is responsible for public relations, marketing communications, social media, integrated marketing and issues and crisis management programs for a wide range of Kellen clients including Sweet'N Low, In The Raw brands, the Juice Products Association and the National Pasta Association, among others. Joan is a seasoned PR counselor and former journalist whose experience spans the range of pro-active and public affairs client programs including consumer goods and services, trade and professional associations, educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
Before joining Kellen, Joan was managing director at New York City public relations agency G.S. Schwartz & Co., Inc., where she led the consumer practice for both new business development and client management functions for a decade. Joan was previously president and owner of The Wachsman Cear Group, a New York-based PR agency that merged with G.S. Schwartz & Co. in 2001.
