FIND A NEW DOCTOR, Granbury has plenty of them. Been a…read morepatient of Dr. Smith for over 30 years and loved him... However over the past 5-6 years things have gone south. From EVERY appointment being 45mins to 1 hour late, to lack of communication, to non-existent follow-up (still waiting on a call from December 2024 when I specifically asked if they would call me right back...yep, yep....NOPE!!) To seeing a different PA every time I go in, which means you have to start all your medical history explanation over, in fact, haven't even seen Dr. Smith in YEARS... My appointment was at 8:30am...and as per normal I pride myself getting there 15-20minutes early just to make sure all is ready so there is no delay... After 9:30am (1 hr after my appointment was suppose to be / 1 hr 20minutes since I walked in the door) I got up and left. Heck they open at 8:00am--how can you be 1+ Hrs behind and you only opened 30 minutes ago?? If the customer / patient was this late or missed an appointment then there are penalties associated with that (which I agree), but what happens when the clinic is over 1hr late??? Doesn't seem fair, my time is just as important as your time...and I am the Patient / Customer who is PAYING for the service. Used to be a great place, but either Dr Smith has taken in too many patients, they lack proper scheduling training, or purposefully they are just cramming as many cattle into the trailer as they can to turn a profit...either way, customer service has gone to heck...and too many other Doctors in Granbury to waste my time. This facility looks very new, so I suspect a recent move. Very happy with the care we received here. From the initial call on the phone, to the front desk when we arrived, to all the nurses and doctors. The check in process is fairly straightforward (see photo), and the wait time, even though there were a few people in front of us, was acceptable. The attention, care, and information we received was delivered with care and empathy. The only reason I did not go 5 stars, as that ALL the seating, in the waiting area was labeled "Do not use." (due to COVID). I don't why ALL the seating was like this. What happened to distancing? I did notice there was a water dispenser, not fountain, with cups. I thought it would carry a warning on "safe use", but I saw none. Bottom line: Hope we don't have to visit here again, but if we do, at least all the people are nice... But that seems to be true for all people in Granbury.

I've lived in large cities most of my adult life, and when I moved to Granbury, I expected more…read morepersonalized medical care. I didn't necessarily expect cutting-edge treatment--just good care from a physician who genuinely cares. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience. I initially saw Dr. Casey Dean at Lakeside Physicians and was very pleased with him. However, the office operations and billing practices were disappointing. I went in for an annual physical, which is supposed to be 100% covered by insurance, yet I was charged a copay simply because I answered a question about how I was doing on my prescriptions. That apparently fell outside the scope of a physical. This was just one example of what felt like constant efforts to bill for anything possible. When Dr. Dean left the practice, I was reassigned to a new primary care physician who couldn't see me for nine weeks. In the meantime, my blood pressure prescription expired, and the office refused to refill it until I had an appointment. I was forced to visit an urgent care facility just to get a refill, which was both unnecessary and expensive. I would not return. I've since found where Dr. Dean is now practicing and am willing to drive to Fort Worth to continue care with a physician I trust. Very disappointing experience.

I received a call at 9:40 am asking if I needed to reschedule or would arrive and I told them that I was in their parking lot and looking for their facility. It turns out I was in the next center over, so I told them I'd be right there (1 minute away). I walked in and was told that my appointment was cancelled because I was late. I told her my appointment was at 10. She told me I needed to be there at 9:30. This was news to me. I told her that I drove 30 minutes to go to the appointment and she did not care. She informed me she had a large stack of paperwork for me to complete and I could reschedule the appointment. I told her that I would not consider a reschedule. My husband called and spoke to a manager who promised to call me. I'll update if she does. Fun Fact: They were running an hour behind (according to the receptionist). So, was I cancelled just to help alleviate some of the delay in appointments?

I left work and drove 3 hours to pick up said prescription only to be told I was misinformed and that it wasn't going to be ready today. Luckily, they were able to "expedite" it and after waiting an hour and a half I received the prescription. This past Friday I called to refill my prescription. I left a message because the office was closed. Tuesday, I hadn't heard from anybody so I went in to try to get it and the lady finally put in the request for me and said they would call me when it is ready. Today. (Wednesday) I receive a voicemail saying I can't refill it unless I set an appointment. I show up at the office 5 minutes later at 10:45am to resolve the issue and I'm told that I "should have called earlier to set an appointment" and I could have gotten in today, but up until 5 minutes earlier I was not aware that I needed an appointment... Luckily I was able to set an appointment for tomorrow (Thursday), given the urgency. Yeah, that's great. But what would have been better is to have been able to receive my prescription today and not have to miss another day of work because of an operator error that was not mine and that I had no idea I needed to provision for. This place is not a bad practice, but of the four months I've dealt with them, two months have been negative experiences. Update (06/27/17): Melissa is rude as hell and I hate doing business at this establishment because she is so condescending and impolite. Today is the last straw with this woman. I called to tell them that my pharmacy said they can't contact my clinic to get my prescription and that I must do it. So I call the clinic, Melissa answers. I tell her what I need to accomplish and she says "well, you need to talk to the pharmacy about that." I tell her that the pharmacy said they can't do it and she says very rudely "well, they can" and just leaves a hostile silence in the air. How about assisting me in resolving the solution, Melissa? Instead of speaking to me like a fool? Finally, I get her to conclude with "I guess I'll get it sent over." Awesome! Now we're getting somewhere. Thank you! Not so fast. I sit here at the pharmacy for two more hours checking periodically to see if they have received anything. Nothing. I call the clinic. Melissa answers. I tell her that the clinic hadn't received anything yet. Very rudely, Melissa says "Well, we're in a clinic, so..." I ask her to clarify and she, rudely again, says "The doctor has to do it and he is probably too busy with patients to deal with it right now. He will probably do it at the end of the day." Thanks for being so informative, Melissa. Thanks for being such a great communicator and thank you for making me feel two feet tall and ruining my day every time I speak to you. I refrained from writing all of this for a long time because I knew that if I did then I would have to awkwardly face these people every time I go in to the clinic. But I've decided I'll just switch providers. I'll miss Dr.Brock, she is a wonderful person. But I am done with this unnecessary insolence.
