This place has rental cabanas, bentos for purchase, soft drinks, and just hours of play. The kids are equipped with life vests and there are lifeguards stationed everywhere. The floats are like huge bouncers anchored in an inlet. The water is not crystal clear but a bit murky. There are tons of tiny guppies and dragonflies. The kids just love the ability to climb, swing, and launch themselves from inflatable towers and bridges! Truly an adventure! Note though that kids should be chaperoned in the water with an adult and some play structures are not suitable for the little one. However, this is an interesting place to spend the day in the water!

Upon meeting Kealii, he was so friendly and welcoming and really put us at ease. He showed us some of the basics in the sand, then got us out in the water. We felt so prepared and equipped with the right skills when we got out there! The thrill of riding those waves all the way into shore still puts a smile on my face! We're even trying to fit in some more lessons before we move! In general- Kealii is such an incredible instructor, and really gives you his undivided attention through these private lessons. I can't imagine trying to learn these surf skills with a large group! They have easy online booking options and they sent you an email right away to sign a waiver. It's a little hard to find as it's between the Denny's and a parking lot, so just be vigilant while walking. They have a little shop with a receptionist and the instructors. There's a QR code for tipping your instructors which was convenient considering you're so tired after the lesson. I felt comfortable leaving all my stuff in the office (even shoes) as we walked across the street to the beach. My instructor, James, first practiced my footing, head placement, and movement. Then we paddled out, and he held my board the entire time. I got to enjoy the view prop my head on my board and give Ms. America waves even though no one was looking. That alone is worth all the money. James gave me tips and tricks each wave he pushed me in. Telling me to balance more on the right foot, etc. I felt like I had also paid to hang out with someone really cool. The vibes on the break were so chill. Everyone knew each other and were respectful with waves of hello and aloha. This is a must do in Waikiki. The waves were so soft on my beginner board and they have a 99.9% rate of success. James said he was able to help a 84 year old catch and stand up in a wave. Remarkable!!! I caught six waves and it felt incredible. I'm wiped out and exhausted, but so satisfied and excited for my next lesson. What a treat! I highly recommend Ty Gurney- ask for James!!

We ended up having to spend about 10 minutes driving to another spot, where the waves were still very small. The lesson also consistently ended almost 10 minutes early to take photos, even though we never requested or asked for photos. I would much rather have that time used for actual instruction. More importantly, I did not feel that the instructor was paying close attention to the student. He often looked away from the student and seemed more focused on relaxing and looking down into the ocean rather than actively watching and teaching. There was also very little constructive instruction once we were in the water. Overall, the experience did not feel professional or worth the money. I would not recommend this surf lesson to others.

She had not driven a lot, but Jesse gave her the tools and confidence that allowed her to pass the test on the first time and with a perfect score!
