These guys are wonderful!!! I would give them 10 stars if that option was available. I brought both my daughters (24,17) and they loved every second. The two surfers that were in the water w/ the kids were very encouraging, giving them pointers and tips and celebrating with them when they actually stood up and rode the waves. I also liked that its a small group setting (my girls were the only ones taking a lesson). They also have a camera set-up and they take lots of great pics that you can buy if your interested. Their pics were def better than any of mine. I really can't recommend Let's Surf Hi enough- absolutely fabulous!!!! read more

I cannot say enough great things about our experience! My husband and I had 8 kids with us ages 16-21(for my daughters 17th birthday) and they all took a lesson together as well as my husband. Everyone caught waves the entire time. There was no waiting around for 1 person to go at a time. They had 1 instructor for every 2 people so 4 instructors total which gave everyone the opportunity to catch a ton of waves ( i mention this because the 2nd part of our trip was on the north shore and we did the jamie obrian surf experience also at turtle bay and it was not a good experience with i think each person only catching 1 or 2 waves over the course of 2 hours because they only had 2 instructors for 8 people) The instructors at LSH were super helpful and knowledgeable and made sure everyone was safe the entire time also. The photographer taking photos was super friendly as well. 10 of 10 for this company!! read more

Amazing, uplifting experience for my kids (and me!), guided by seasoned, kind, generous-hearted instructors who really know how to work with children and beginners. We were staying at the Aulani, and this surf school was recommended by them. Everything from end-to-end was easy well-organized, professional yet warm and family-like, with great communication from the Let's Surf team (even texting us turn by turn directions on how to find them). When we arrived at the spot on the beautiful Eisenhower Beach, our family was greeted warmly and made to feel welcome (Aloha spirit in action). The kids were given the basic instructions on the sand, and then off to the water. My eldest got up pretty quick, with lots of enthusiasm and encouragement from her instructor Jack. My little one was more scared, so her instructor took a gentle more hands on approach -- never pushing her or making her feel pressured OR feel bad about not feeling confident out in the waves. It's awesome how they were able to modulate teaching style to suit each learner. My older kid walked away glowing with confidence that lasted throughout the trip. My littler one walked away with an open heart to trying again some day even though it was scary for her at the time (I really know this is because she was never pressured or forced). Oh! And they had an awesome photographer who took great action shots with her telephoto lens. We bought the pics because they were great and they made my kids feel like real pro surfers :D Next time we are blessed enough to make it back to O'ahu, we will definitely be setting up another class. I highly recommend Let's Surf HI. The location is on a secluded beach and is easy to access from Aulani. The instructor Anthony is an amazing guy who is patient and a great teacher of many things including surfing. My wife and two daughters (age 6 and 8) all were surfing within 20 minutes of being on the waves. My wife has been teaching dance and golf her entire adult life and commented that these instructors had an excellent, well thought out and step by step process to get great results fast. We both teach golf and really appreciate instruction that is detailed and professional. I could not recommend this company any higher than 5 stars otherwise I would. My favorite memory from my whole trip! I could not recommend doing this enough. I was pretty nervous going into this but walking up to the instructors and I'm guessing the owner I felt at ease! They had the best energy and they were so excited to help us. My instructor was Scott and my boyfriend's was Ethan. They were both amazing. Scott made me feel so safe!! On multiple occasions he hoped off of his board to help me stay steady when a bigger wave was coming through. Even staying on the board he continuously looked out for me and my safety. He pushed me to try a lot of waves and I had a blast doing so. When waiting for a wave, we had great conversations about Hawaii, what I had done on the trip so far, and more. If I could have done this again before I left, I would have. If you can request instructors DEFINITELY request these two. read more

I can't say enough great things about everyone at Let's Surf HI. We were very nervous to try surfing and from the moment we walked up, we felt at ease and took care of everything! My parents came to watch and expected to sit on a beach blanket but they had chairs and a tent setup. We did a private instruction which o highly recommend because each of us had the individual help we needed. They had rash guards and shoes there ready for you to use and life jackets for smaller children that aren't strong swimmers. read more

My oldest daughter, skateboards & snowboards so she got up right away on her first wave. My youngest was super scared to do it and her instructor was incredibly patient with her and sat with her on the beach while she watched people and was ready to go out on her own she didn't get up but she had such a great time using the surfboard as a boogie board and getting up on her knees when she taught her.I would highly highly highly recommend this company it was fun from start to finish with them and they're on the most beautiful beach a little bit hard to fine but so worth it! Highly recommend them! We booked a 1 hour lesson with them yesterday- for 2 adults and 1 child. They were able to give us the lesson altogether at the same time which we preferred so we can all be in the water and cheer each other on together. Our guides were led by Anthony. He and his team were very patient, accommodating and encouraging for us first-timers. Their tips were handy and practical and we will use them when we surf again. We paid $120 for the photo/video package which was well worth it. We did not have to take our own photos or videos so we could just focus on our lesson and have fun. read more

I was staying at Aulani and surfing is one of the activities not offered at the resort for my tween. I called and talked to a person immediately and arranged a lesson for the next morning. Took a $20 each-way Uber ride out to Eisenhower Beach and they had a guy waiting for me right at the trailhead to walk me to the beach. They had a pop-up on the beach and provided a board, rashguard, and footies. The instructors were super kid-friendly and beginner-friendly. There was a 5-minute dry land lesson and the rest of the time on the water. My kid had a blast, got up a lot with the instructor helping to get enough speed to catch waves! If I had it to do over again, I would've talked my more timid 8-year old into doing a lesson! I saw kids younger than that having an absolute blast with tandem paddling and riding. I also wouldn't have wasted time videoing on an iPhone since I found out later that they offer video and stills for an additional fee and they were way better than my phone media. I also would've gone out there myself! Once I was standing on the beach watching it, I really wanted to do it too! Everyone was super friendly and helpful; very positive experience. read more

I did a 1 hour surf lesson in March of 2020 and had a blast! The instructors and owner were so friendly and encouraging. This was my first time on a surf board and they had me up and riding waves after only 3 tries! It was such a fun time! The beach is secluded and completely beautiful. The shuttle service from the Ko'Olina hotels was very convenient. I didn't know at the time but I think paying for the shuttle service also allows 1-2 non-riders to come with you so they can watch the lesson. They take great photos of your lesson that are for sale. The only bummer part of the experience was that the price of the photos felt a little steep. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Let's Surf HI to anyone looking for a lesson on Oahu. My husband an i have been to Hawaii before but have never tried surfing ( I was super nervous) but we decided to give it a try. Our hotel referenced us to Lets Surf HI and boy was it a great experience. We learned in a nice beach where the water wasn't too deep at all and the instructors were so encouraging. We got up and surfed on our 2nd try! It was a great experience and everyone was so nice. They had a few instructors taking go pro videos of us and a nice woman on the beach taking photos of us learning to surf and surfing on the water. They offered differnet options for photos and videos at an extra charge (she lets you look through the pics and videos at the end of your lesson) Would totally recommend them!!! read more

I'd give them 6 stars if I could. I booked beginner lessons for my grandkids while still on the mainland. Miku was very helpful in selecting the right one-on-one instructors, and efficiently handled all the payment arrangements. She sent me directions to the beach (15-20 minutes from Ko 'Olina), and confirmed by text message. Our grandkids had never surfed before, and they were both up and riding within a half hour. The instructors have a fantastic, patient attitude, and much to our relief, they were safety-first, as well. In addition, they took GoPro videos of their surf rides, and Miku shot long-lens still photos, all of which were uploaded by that evening for us (gladly purchased). I just cannot say enough good things about our experience, and our grandkids are beaming with a new accomplishment. Highly recommend. read more
