I was looking online at a car for sale at a local GJ dealership. After a call to an another shop,…read morethey referred me to Hunter @ Antonellli's for a long distance pre-purchase inspection. I had an outstanding experience! Communication was clear, Hunter was flexible, and prompt, in getting the car in and inspected for me! He was always kind and also quite thorough. I felt confident about the condition of the car (especially since they specialize in keeping high mileage cars, like I drive, going and going well!) and my $165 was well spent! Thanks, Hunter, and Antonelli's!!!

I brought a Subaru Impreza to this shop in June 2026 to diagnose the cause of recurring oil drips…read morecoming from the engine/transmission area. The Antonelli's mechanic who inspected the car concluded that these drips were coming from a bad oil plug gasket, and coolant leaking from a "melted radiator" that would cost roughly $3,000 to replace. I authorized the mechanic to change the oil plug gasket and do an accompanying oil change (which they mishandled by overfilling the oil level), and then took the car to the local Subaru dealership. The Subaru dealership mechanic quickly traced the oil leaks to bad gaskets on the transmission check plug which cost $100 to fix. The radiator was perfectly fine. The dealership mechanic was at a loss as to how someone could have recommended replacing it. And the best part - oil was still seeping around the oil drain plug. The root cause of which was an aftermarket oil plug that some shop had installed years ago. It's a minor inconvenience I can live with until my next oil change. My advice - if you own a Subaru, avoid this shop at all costs. You'll be money ahead taking it to the local Subaru dealership instead.

He coordinated with me and my busy schedule and came out to fully diagnose my vehicle and gave me a quote within 24 hours. With the full diagnosis, he let me me know which fixes should be prioritized, how much the parts and labor would be, and how long it would take to fix it. He also was running a special that month that gave me a small percentage off. I was so grateful! He replaced my timing belt and water pump and let me know how long I had on the next fixes that I would need (my car is old, a 2003 Subaru Legacy L with 200k miles, so understandably it had a lot of things that were needed.) Gentry's communication was so prompt, professional, and transparent. I've recommended him to 3 other friends who have needed their cars serviced. Mechanics like him are few and far between. I HIGHLY recommend. Thanks Gentry! You've got a customer for life - that car I have since retired and will be contacting you to look over my new to me/used vehicle soon.

Smitty's Garage in Clifton, Co. Best service I've had in…read moreages. June 25, 2010 - I was headed cross country from WA to CO - PPIHC. Traveling in an '87 Grand Wagoneer pullin' a 15' Aladdin trailer when I died at the Utah/Colorado border, looking at the "Welcome to Colorado" sign. I called AAA and, after some negotiation on jurisdiction, got towed into Grand Junction, Co (30+miles). The driver, whom I never met, suggested Smitty's as the place to go for an 'honest repair job'. I'm broke down - not sure what's wrong - no clue what a place named "Smitty's" is going to say or do. It's hot - gotta' go for it. The head mechanic took me in, let me park my trailer in the yard, ran an extension cord so I'd have power, let me use the facilities (shower, etc.). We (they let me be involved in all aspects of the work) worked on the Jeep (on-n-off for two(2) days) in between other jobs that came in - more poor broke-down folks from the hwy. They were knowledgeable mechanics - good troubleshooters. Not sure how many actual hours we worked on the Jeep - fuel delivery problem - but the bill didn't reflect it at all - very, very reasonable considering what we went through. I took off and finished my trip - 8500 miles. Next time I'm through Grand Junction I'll stop by to say Hi, and thanks for everything.
