If Reed imaging wants to stay open and actually give patient a good experience, they need to get rid of Dorris and give the front staff some training in manners and professionalism.

UPDATE: I never thought I had a serious candida overgrowth but a small question to Dr. Jim got me…read moreto investigating. The tongue can tell a lot about what might be going on with someone. I read that the overgrowth can go systemic, into the bloodstream and into organs. I never mentioned in my original post that I had recently had a horrible sore throat that seemed to go into my esophagus - never had anything like this before - and it wasn't going completely away. Trouble swallowing. Medical doctor did bloodwork and I was negative for Covid antibodies. I am convinced that the patch in my lung is from the candida, which can cause pneumonia. In addition I do not want to take anti-fungal drugs so I am following a strict protocol of attempting to eliminate the overgrowth. Dr. Jim told me the foods I was allowed to eat and that it could take a number of weeks to get my body back to where it should be. So I am sticking this out because he said: "If you think what you have now is bad, it's only going to get worse if you don't stop it." In addition, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jim Di Blasi. The office is completely safe for Covid-19 and they follow protocol. And the office has a very pleasant atmosphere.

Unless you are willing to go to Bascolm-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Dr. Jacobson is your best bet. He PERSONALLY took the time to understand my entire medical history (rather than having some tech-schooled, slow-writing medical assistant who understands about half of what you are telling her and writes down even less). Even more importantly, Dr. Jacobson demonstrated the ability to think about how existing medical conditions may affect my eyes. After having lots of experiences with MDs of all types, I can honestly say that Dr. Jacobson is definitely a rare and dying breed. Not only does he have an exceptional attention to detail, really good communication skills, outstanding capabilities and the most current knowledge of retinal disease, treatment and care -- he also seems to be a genuinely nice guy. The other MDs in the practice seem equally skilled...I don't have as much first hand experience with them except to say that I had an after-hours emergency and had to page the on-call MD. My call was returned in less than 2 minutes! Dr. Rivalese also offered to see me in the office on Saturday AM. Impressive that they are so responsive to non-life threatening emergencies. Most other MDs would tell their patients to "go to the ER"...but the ER can't do much for eye problems except charge you $2k and tell you to "follow up with your doctor on Monday". Sure, having eye/retina problems is terrible! But knowing that there is competent, professional care is reassuring. Give Georgia Retina and Dr. Jacobson in particular a try...I think they have several locations: Decatur, Riverdale, Perimeter, etc.

He thinks I will need a replacement in right hip down the road. However, until then I will walk/stretch/repeat. Thanks also to his nurse and x ray girls, very kind and supportive! Dr. Bowerman gave me the shot, and was very slow and methodical, I could tell instantly that it was going to the pain. He said to give it a few days, but I can tell it is already working! I went to an appointment with her once, and this guy was a COMPLETE ASSHOLE. He is passive-aggressive (emphasis on the aggressive), doesn't know what he's talking about (he tried to tell my mom that she didn't have Gastroparesis, even though he is not a GI doctor; even after he spoke to my mom's GI doctor, he still thought she could "cure" her Gastroparesis by doing things SHE ALREADY DOES). He comes up with these bizarre ideas, and won't let them go. I just moved back to Rome recently, and have a hard time finding a physician. I have a chronic illness that require I take medication, so I was going to go see Dr. Pittman to get my prescriptions until I found someone better. I went to his office and spent 30-45 minutes filling out paperwork. They told me it would be a week or two before they would call me and give me an appointment; two days later they called me and told me Dr. Pittman had rejected my application "at this time." I did not do anything to warrant my application being rejected. When his staff called, they wouldn't tell me why they had rejected me. If you want a good physician who will listen to you and work with you (and generally be a decent human being), THIS IS NOT THE DOCTOR FOR YOU.
