I've had several appointments and not a complaint for a single one . I'm seen quickly and every step has always been explained and my questions are always answered completely. Everyone shows compassion and professionalism while being pleasant and personable. No one wants an eye injection (unless they are genuinely weird),but Dr Oh and the rest of the Georgia Retina group make it much less awful than it could be.

Unless you are willing to go to Bascolm-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Dr. Jacobson is your best bet. He PERSONALLY took the time to understand my entire medical history (rather than having some tech-schooled, slow-writing medical assistant who understands about half of what you are telling her and writes down even less). Even more importantly, Dr. Jacobson demonstrated the ability to think about how existing medical conditions may affect my eyes. After having lots of experiences with MDs of all types, I can honestly say that Dr. Jacobson is definitely a rare and dying breed. Not only does he have an exceptional attention to detail, really good communication skills, outstanding capabilities and the most current knowledge of retinal disease, treatment and care -- he also seems to be a genuinely nice guy. The other MDs in the practice seem equally skilled...I don't have as much first hand experience with them except to say that I had an after-hours emergency and had to page the on-call MD. My call was returned in less than 2 minutes! Dr. Rivalese also offered to see me in the office on Saturday AM. Impressive that they are so responsive to non-life threatening emergencies. Most other MDs would tell their patients to "go to the ER"...but the ER can't do much for eye problems except charge you $2k and tell you to "follow up with your doctor on Monday". Sure, having eye/retina problems is terrible! But knowing that there is competent, professional care is reassuring. Give Georgia Retina and Dr. Jacobson in particular a try...I think they have several locations: Decatur, Riverdale, Perimeter, etc.

As an update to my 2023 appointment for new glasses: I recently had an eye exam at another facility…read moreand was given a new prescription that was supposed to be a minor tweak on my current glasses. I compared the new prescription to my latest prescription and it seemed more like a major change instead of a minor adjustment. Not being an expert, I went ahead and ordered the updated lenses from Rome Eye Care. When they came in and I put them on, the vision in my left eye was good but I could see better out of the right lens without the glasses. I figured I just had to wear them for a while to get used to them. After two weeks of constant wear, my vision was not any better out of the right eye. I returned to Rome Eye care and they read the lenses on their machine and confirmed they matched the prescription I had been given, which I figured they did. They agreed with me that the new prescription was a major change from the lenses I have been wearing since 2023. They said I should go back to the original clinic and have them recheck my eyes. The original office I went to could not give me a repeat exam until June. I let Rome Eye Care know that I wouldn't be back anytime soon so they weren't expecting a quick return. The very next day they called and said that Dr. Reeves said for me to come in and he would re-examine my eyes. A new exam was performed and it was found that the prescription I was given by the other optometrist was over corrected for the left eye and was even a bit stronger than I needed for the right eye. During his evaluation he was able to correct my prescription to give me 20/20 vision. I know this is kind of long, but the people at Rome Eye Care center are really great. Based on how quickly they accommodated the exam and the expert treatment I received, I will probably use them as my primary for eye care.

Good to know there are two phenomenal Optometrists over at MyEyeDr in Cedercrest Acworth. Highly recommend both of them.

It has been several years since I have made a vision visit because I felt unheard and overcharged, so I made the old frames and eyes work with what they had at that time. Zeena Optical is NOT that experience. The feeling of warmth and home is what you get the moment you walk inside. The beautiful eyewear display cases beckons you to try a pair or two on. Their frames were all fairly priced. Once you get to the back, the state of the art technology was top tier. I was jaw dropped by the ease and care of the technician guiding me through the process. After the pre eye screening tests, I was ushered into a beautiful little private office exam room where elegantly placed decor and equipment married together in perfect and tasteful style. When Dr. "A" as she is affectionately called, walked into the room, I knew this would be my forever eye place. Dr. A is not only thorough and proficient, but also she is kind and personable. She is very easy to talk to and the most important thing is that she listens. I felt so seen and heard by her. She is simply in a word fantastic. The icing on the cake is that you get a great eye exam and you don't feel as if you have been robbed just trying to see properly. I highly recommend Zeena Optical. 10/10

The lady I spoke to on the phone was incredibly nice and friendly. I came in at my scheduled time, and to my amazement, all the workers there were exceptionally friendly.
