However, now that Dr McNamara is part of Bethesda Physician Associates, an MDVIP practice, there is no comparison to the past. Now, if there is an issue, I usually get a callback from Dr McNamara within an hour or so. If I am sick, I can usually get a same day or next day appointment. The physical exam is comprehensive and is not rushed. I am highly satisfied with the change. The downside is that there is now an additional fee of $2,000 per year. However, I realize that in this age of managed care and insurance-driven health care, it has become necessary in order to get the care that I desire and expect.

He then proceeded to tell her that her test results were fine; however, he was sure she needed to get back to her family as he needed to get back to his. I understand people have lives outside of their work; however, it should have never taken until October to hear back about something regarding her health, good or bad. He now works for MDVIP where patients pay extra money to have a doctor on call whenever they need them. I don't know about anyone else but, if I'm going to pay over $1000 extra to have a doctor there whenever I need him/her, I would want someone who really cares about the hospitality aspect of the medical field. I don't seem to be the only person who feels this way either.

Grace always takes time to find out what is going on in your life, and tries always to find better ways to solve medical problems. 2. Grace always listens and genuinely cares. The sad reality is that Dr. Grace is retiring at the end of this month. After 10 years of wandering to the same Doctor, I am going to miss her. Obviously he is very good and has many years of experience. He did an Ultrasound and two biopsies to decide for the best procedure. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything with patience the entire time. It is hard to understand all these medical terms but he had patience and made me feel as comfortable as I could feel. The first biopsy was pretty painless and over fast. The second one needed more specimen for a special DNA test and was a bit more uncomfortable but still totally fine. After results came back 60% probability for cancer he suggested to get only half of the thyroid removed. He also gave me the option to remove the whole thing because a lot of people choose that for peace of mind. I chose to remove half. My procedure was done at the Massachusetts Ave Surgery Center On surgery day he came to talk to me before the procedure. Explaining what's going to happen. He is so calm and professional it makes you feel better. Surgery went great. I woke up sore to swallow but ok. The first 3 days of recovery were sore and than pretty good after that. So I'd recommend to take 3-4 days off of work. The incision is healing up nice after a week and a half. It looks like the incision is going to be pretty nice and clean. I got stitches from this inside so no stitches scars to come. Yay Thank you Dr.Goicochea for taking care of me. I will recommend him to anyone that has to deal with Thyroid issues

My first…read moremeeting was informative, I did not realize the severity of my situation but he advised me to get specific testing so he would know to proceed with surgery. After results came back, we scheduled surgery within 2 weeks and I was TERRIFIED however many of the nurses at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital let me know they have never seen incisions as clean and virtually unnoticeable as his. The surgery went very well, lasted about 3 hours (I was slightly a special case) I barely had a sore throat and resumed normal life the day after. His bedside manner is awesome and he definitely put me at ease as this was my first surgery. He has also worked on close family friends of mine and they all say the same of Dr. Goicochea! Highly trained, knowledgeable and professional.

I developed severe asthma as a baby and was hospitalized many times and in ICU frequently. Dr. Clayton was an amazing doctor and I definitely credit him with saving my life on more than one occasion. I'm sick with pneumonia now and wondered if Dr. Clayton was still practicing and he is! Too bad he doesn't see adults. You can trust your child's care and life with this amazing doctor.

I have never felt that my medical well being was more of a concern then I did with Dr Yerg and his assistant Lisa. Physical: They spent well over an hour and a half with me; constantly running tests or asking me about my medical (and my family's medical) history. Both Dr. Yerg and Lisa were taking notes the entire time. It was impressive. Consultation prior to physical: Dr Yerg met me to ask some general background questions. Later, he remembered every detail. The staff at the front desk was efficient and pleasant. I don't think a guy with his professionalism needs any endorsement, but I feel obliged to give it anyway.

I had just moved from out of state and he had been recommended, so I made the appointment for three months away. The morning of the appointment - three months later- I had not gotten a reminder call from the office so I called to confirm my 1:00 pm appointment. I was told the appointment had been canceled because they had not received my paperwork and had called to remind me about the appointment and the paperwork on three different occasions. I asked what number they had been calling. It was an incorrect number - off by one digit. Since I'm not in the habit of giving an incorrect version if my own number, it was clear there had been a typo when they input my number. I told the receptionist my correct number and asked that they honor the appointment that day. She said she would go and talk to the doctor. When she returned to the phone, she told me that not only would they not see me as scheduled but that the doctor had said they would not schedule me at all - ever - because they hadn't received my paperwork. While initially I was upset and disappointed, I'm actually quite glad it turned out this way because I wouldn't want to see a doctor who has so little compassion or consideration.

The patient him or herself can't make decisions about changing routines much less physicians. It pained me to see the daily frustration, her pain medication wasn't working. I consulted my own hospitalization's pages to find a doctor whose speciality is Geriatrics. Dr. Peter Schlissler is a prince among men. He had my parents and me in his office...cancer is a group activity, or it should be. The oncologist had no such office or family meeting. Dr. Schlisser spoke at length about my mother's condition and what we could expect. I told my mother to bring prescriptions in a bag, even empty bottles. Dr. Schlissler commented that these prescriptions were all but no longer used, it was no wonder that the medications were not working. There are better things and better dosages. I had tears to think that this doctor not only provided the revelation about the illness itself, but that there was better, pro-active treatment. Dr, Schissler wanted to examine the patient himself. You could see what kind of a person he is when he took the wheel with her wheelchair. He pushed it himself, slowly, chatting with my mother, mindful of her condition, respectful of it. More tears for me. That appointment lasted nearly five hours. He found that she had severe osteoporosis which no other doctor had tested for. He set about protocols to ease her pain, which eased our worry, he gave us a sense of control at long last. It was such a sense of relief to find Dr. Schissler and his medical practice. He restored our family by providing the respect my battle weary parents needed to carry on. Dr. Schissler is gentle and wise. He was there for my mother every step of the way. As surely as he told us at that first appointment that we were no where near ready for Hospice, he later wisely knew when it was the time. Imagine the dignity and grace. Anyone would do a family member or friend a service by having a consultation with Dr. Schissler and Associates. My first visit was over an hour long wait with no acknowledgement of the time (I had arrived 5-10min early). Will minimize or outright ignore your concerns both in-person/in-office as well as via their patient portal. Beware and please find a doctor that has even a modicum of care for your health and well-being. Feel free to reach out with any questions for clarification.
