Dr. Grace is an exceptional physician. Given the reality of a general practitioner's tasks, where knowledge must be vast, in order to assess and refer patients to proper specialists, she is well versed, and takes out a considerable amount of time with her patients. The waiting time of a one-physician practice is long. Dr. Grace is a one-physician practice. With the increase in persons seeking health care, the access to care is abundant.
As a recommendation, before making an appointment, call your insurance company and retrieve as much information as possible. If this information is not updated or on file, the doctor cannot see you, make proper referrals, nor prescribe any medication. Then plan an appointment and come by. When updating health care information, request the fax number of your plan member ID and Group number. Then contact your local pharmacist and provide them with the Enrollment code, Rx BIN #, Rx PCN #, and Group Number. All information is different for the physician and the pharmacy. Sometimes a callback or answering the phone is challenging. Have this information or your card ready. If you cannot get through to member plan contacts number - due to long wait times, continue to press "0" to bypass all the automated series of questions (example: "if... press, 1, press, 2, press 3....). Listen carefully, if you do not hear a prompt that allows you to select the proper number, hang up, call back and continue to press "0" for each prompt. LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE PROMPT CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING A SELECTION. DO NOT CONTINUE TO HANG UP. If you have the option for a call back - consider it if you have disability issues. All this information will help. Imagine someone who is disabled and they have to wait on Metro Access or a ride from a family member. The waiting time increases. We live in a different world. Practices are overwhelmed and staff is limited. But these approaches apply to any and all physicians you see to help you take care of your health!!! We have to advocate for our health and most of what we do now. Doctors are not some higher power. It we need a second option, seek one.
Often times, doctors double and triple schedule/book patients at the same time. We just sit in cold/uncomfortable rooms at this point. But the doctor will "eventually" see us. Dr. Grace does not subscribe to this practice. We also live in a world where our ability to be patient has decreased. Dr. Grace is worth the patience. She is very thorough and saved my life - twice!!! She cares, and is the consummate professional. I cannot surely appreciate your experience! If these walls could talk given my own experience -there would be no room for a message. But I refuse to make a poor comment about Dr. Grace. She is ethical, professional, an excellent practitioner, makes solid judgments to support her patients, has a wealth of knowledge in so many areas, studies results, tries very hard to provide optimal care, and truly is one of the last type single providers, in a "diminishing trend to provide proper care" of her category and is amongst the best!!!. Having noted this, you may still have to wait a bit, even when you are in a room, or have receive preliminary evaluation by one of her kind assistants.
I apologize for your experience. I do, indeed. I wish for a good experience for where ever we can find it. I have learned that patients are not just a virtue - IT IS SO NECESSARY. If we have a bad experience (or many), let us not be quick to post such information. Give doctors a chance to do what they can in these very changing times. Imagine if our care became automated and we had to wait on computer programmed examines, referrals, treatment, prescriptions. Would we truly be better off with companies charging for anything and everything and doctors prescribing based on "not the first line of treatment (most studies based on good patient outcomes)" - but what they can pocket at our expense - not to keep us healthy but to keep us sick longer? You have the right to post based on your experience - not mine.
Doctor Grace Team does the best they can. Prepare before coming. They are not a claims processing company. They process information based on copies of health insurance information that is already in a system. It is a very small staff and we may not get to them as fast as we want. If your health insurance is not on file or changes - do not call in with it - bring it in, fax it, or mail it. The fax number is the same as the phone number. After that, try to confirm that the info is consistent with any new or current information. You can save a lot of time. However, it is true the wait may be longer than expected. Hence, it is highly suggested that a two hours (depending on the time appointment is scheduled) be expected to complete the entire wait, consultation, and examination, prescribed medicine, and written referral time. Many blessings, best wishes, and hope this helps!!!
