    Keifer's Downtown Menu - May 2018
    Duan C.

Keifer's is not bad. A tad pricey for lunch spot, but the food is good. I like their burger's and the steak & cheese pita wrap. They do a good job on the fries. They deserve 3.5 stars, but yelp doesn't allow half stars. Anywho, I uploaded a menu so you can see what all they offer.

    Chicken Gyro Wrap

This place was able to finish my todo order in less than 10 mins! I only had a chicken gyro wrap but it was light and filling for lunch! Although the only recommendation I have is that they have a little more meat vs lettuce in the wrap. (I took a bite before for I took a picture)

Such a delicious lunch! Quick and friendly service. A favorite lunch spot downtown. On a day with good weather it would be the perfect spot to sit outside and people watch. Food is SO good!! It is a must stop by place whenever I am in town.

Mozzarella Veggie Wrap with curly fries...

This is one of my favorite lunch spots when I visit my family in Jackson. You order at the counter, and they call out to you to get your food. Doesn't take them long to fix anything either. I usually get the veggie wrap with mozzarella and their awesome curly fries. My mother usually gets the chicken gyro, and my sister gets their burger. The food is good and the atmosphere is pretty laid back with the food served on plastic trays with paper plates and drinks in styrofoam cups. But it's a cool hole in the wall kinda place in downtown Jackson, I mean it's what Jackson is good for at times... hole in the wall places with good food. Oh and they close at 2:30 so sometimes it's a challenge to get there before they close, but it's well worth it if you can make it for lunch.

Since I work downtown, this and Taste of the Island Caribbean are my go-to places when I'm not sure what I want. The service is friendly, the gyro's are tasty and filling, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a low key, relaxed local restaurant (at least before the lunch rush. Expect a line when that happens).

Great food, Lots of atmosphere. We went for lunch and the place was packed. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed lunch. Food tasted great and the sliced potato is a must try! Only downfall is they don't offer a kids menu.

Tried the new item to their menu (sliders). Way over priced and not that good. I will stick with the gyro from now on.

Summer, the waitress/bartender was so attentive but more importantly very skilled at making an exceptional old fashion. Every sip was a reminder of southern comfort. Warm like grandma and stern like grandpa. (The block ice is optional so request as needed). The oysters were the star of the show. My first bite tasted like a pleasant memory of New Orleans. Consider this a buttery Bayou banger. Don't be shy, squeeze that lemon and dip that bread and leave nothing behind. The south west chicken salad is not to be slept on! I had a pretty big lunch so I wanted something light, but still packed a flavor punch. Boy was I knocked off my feet! The heirloom tomatoes, fresh avocado and homemade chipotle ranch took me from Louisiana to Mexico quicker than any plane could. I could not wait to share what was shared with me! I took my walk back down the street feeling gleeful and ready to brag. I received this recommendation from a local Mississippian and I couldn't be more happy with my decision. In fact, initially I felt bad about hitching a ride with my colleagues and later ditching them (they went to another spot up the street) until I was given every reason to be proud of stepping foot in The Manship.

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.

We were greeted shortly by our waiter Caden. Our waiter was extremely polite and very attentive. I can only speak in the items I personally tried the watermelon jalapeño margarita was a 7.5/10. There wasn't a strong watermelon flavor and there really wasn't a kick from the jalapeño. The bartender wasn't definitely not shy with the liquor but it wasn't over powering. The shrimp and crab ceviche was probably a 8/10 ( could've been a 9/10 but it had cucumbers in it). It had a tad bit too much lime juice or lime taste. The shrimp and crab dip was delicious! 9/10. Fresh chips as well. I really enjoyed the pickled red onion addition was really good. Overall Saltine has a great menu selection, warm and welcoming vibe.

That was delicious. Also got the lobster and crawfish dip ok and one can never go wrong with calamari which was also good. For dinner, I had the salmon and grits and kale. It was ok because not quite what I was expecting - I was expecting spicy and it was too sweet for me but might be my fault for not fully reading the description and being focused on the Cajun seared aspect of it. It was still good though. Nothing superb but filling and loved the crunchy kale on top. Really liked that they were open on a Monday and they were fast. At one point, too fast because one of my co- diner's dinner came too soon while still eating their salad. For dessert, we got the cinnamon roll cheesecake and shared it. I only had one bite because it was too rich for me but it was very tasty and good. Unfortunately, we didn't get the oysters which is THE item to get here but it was otherwise a good visit.
