We did a wine flight, enjoyed a couple bottles while we were there, and brought some bottles home with us. We didn't get a chance to try the food, but the menu looked really good. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking! It is so relaxing and peaceful. Then there's the wines. Point Lookout has a wonderful selection of dry, semi-dry, and sweet wines. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the service is amazing, even when there's a large crowd. I truly hated to leave. I just want to sit and enjoy the views all day. Wouldn't have a problem if the other regular spots were also blocked off, but they were wide open. I am a sweet wine fan and they did have several to choose from - moscato, peach, blackberry, strawberry, apple, sangria, and cranberry. I loved the flight boards and how they served them. Unfortunately that is where the joy ends. Every single one of their wines tasted like watered down kool-aid or fruit juice - or as Scott said - home kit wines. I tasted no hint of wine in any of their wines. I was so nervous about getting blackberry merlot since merlot is a dry wine, but it was just a light blackberry juice. The only one we remotely enjoyed was the peach. Again, lovely winery, lovely indoor and outdoor seating, great hosts, but the wine is just not my style or preference. I do however recommend going to give it a try since you may love it or just a good winery to visit and hang out at.

Truly a hidden gem!…read more We stumbled upon this vineyard while visiting Asheville and we fell in love. OMV is a family owned/run boutique vineyard in the hills of Southwest NC. They create delicious and unique wines that are suitable for every palate. We did a tasting for about $20 a person and each wine was somehow better and better as we went down the list. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful with superb landscape and lots of bird watching. They have really created an oasis that people need to know about, but at the same time I kind of want to keep the secret to myself because that's how good it is. Can't wait to go back! *bring your own food for a picnic, they occasionally have a food truck but not guaranteed

The owner/host was absolutely incredible--so knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made the entire experience feel welcoming and special. You can really tell there's intention behind everything--from the wines to the story behind the vineyard. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we left with four bottles! This is such a great spot for a date night, solo date, or even a group outing. Highly recommend if you're looking for something unique and memorable. Will definitely be back!

The grounds are kept well, and the vines are gorgeous. I did a golf cart tour of the grounds with Yelp a few yrs back. I've been here several times on my own to just chill and taste the new wines. It can get a bit busy on the weekends. The tasting room is small, they do have a newly added bar, and out side seating. The tasting fee includes alot of wines, so its totally worth the wait and time spent at the Mercer House. They do have a newly built area for weddings, see the website for details. This would make a excellent place to hold a fancy event for the future! Dont be shy about trying something new and coming out to the Lexington area.
