We were specifically looking for infant care, which I was highly impressed with, although I think we may wait until she is a toddler due to the premium cost. Parents beware before making a deposit!…read more We got on the wait-list 8 months in advance for the infant room, and were told we were first on the list. I planned accordingly to return to work after a limited maternity leave. Less than a month before the expected start date, Lauren, the assistant director, emailed, casually mentioning that there wouldn't be space until 2 months later. We scrambled to make things work, and as we stayed in communication with them, they later postponed the start date ANOTHER 2 months. We ultimately had to scramble to find another center to enroll in at the last minute. I don't know whose job gives them the flexibility to take an extra 4 months of maternity leave. Definitely not mine. Despite not being able to honor the agreed start date, the center has REFUSED to refund our wait list deposit. Maybe this was an unreasonable response to an honest accident. Maybe it was an intentional act to manipulate us into making a deposit last year when they knew they would not be able to meet our needs. I'm not sure. But either way, I feel taken advantage of by people who I was ready to trust with the most important task of caring for my child. After this experience, I would not plan to enroll my baby here even if the space did open up, after seeing how poorly we were treated. I would not trust them to appropriately care for my child. To other parents and parents-to-be, if you are expecting reliable childcare to be available when you need it, I would look elsewhere. Please proceed with caution and at minimum, have a solid backup plan that you can enact at short notice for an extended period!

Love Kiddie Academy!!…read more My grandson loves his "school" and in essence it is school because he's learned so much. His language skills (comprehension/expressive) have come so far. He's learning to interact with his friends and be part of a group. All of those pre-k skills like colors, shapes, the alphabet, numbers, etc are part of the curriculum. Yes, there is a curriculum, this isn't babysitting. The facility is appealing to kids, the staff has always been friendly and also good about keeping us informed as to how his day went. Can't ask for more in quality care for your child. That peace of mind is huge.

MY REVIEW WAS DELETED SO I AM POSTING A SECOND TIME!…read more My children were enrolled for about 18 months at this facility before Dad and I decided to unenroll them indefinitely. The very first day they arrived, upon picking them up my son had marks all on his arm as if he was bitten several times. I brought It to the attention of the front desk and they managed to calm me down and reassure me they would review the cameras - they never did. As a parent, I should have trusted my intuition and removed them from this facility that very first day. My son would come home and tell us that his teacher, Ms. Amanda, didn't like him so we requested a classroom change with Ms. Jezera who was absolutely amazing. My daughter had a consistent revolving door of teachers; her nose would be completely crusted upon pickup as if she wasn't being tended to. Jezera and her sister Jasenia, who later became my daughters teacher, as well as Ms. Brittney are easily the only teachers in the entire facility that I trusted with my children. Once my son aged out of Ms. Jezera's class he was placed into a classroom with Katie's son, the director. All of a sudden they claimed he was having behavioral issues when in actuality he was being bullied by Katie's son and other classmates and management refused to do anything about it despite our continuous requests for a classroom change, which was once honored previously. Katie shows complete favoritism towards her children and would make inappropriate comments to my child. There is a current DCFS investigation as well as attorneys involved due to an incident that occurred on 7/12. Upon picking my children up from this facility, my son had marks on his hips telling me his teacher, Ms. Terrah was pinching him ( as part of disciplinary measures) upon review of their cameras and an exam of my child these accusations proved to be 100% correct. The only thing I commend this daycare on is their swift response as Terrah was terminated within the hour, however, their continuous lack of due diligence in hiring competent staff and addressing issues at their core would have prevented the continuous mistreatment of my son during his entire enrollment here. This facility over the course of the entire 18 months continued to lose my trust and the ONLY reason I kept putting faith in them is due to the strong relationships I had with the teachers listed; their promise to ensure my children were safe was appreciated but they of course can only do so much. This is the first and last daycare my children will ever attend!

We went to Kindercare, Chesterbrook and Crème dela Crème. We chose Pathway. My daughter attended Pathway when we was just 2 years and 8 mos, we started with Miss Miera and Miss Maria. At that time, we are just starting potty training. I think it is more of struggling because I cannot seem to find a way to make her use the washroom. Miss Miera and Miss Maria was so helpful and I guess because of peer pressure she seem to just learn it on her own. A couple of months later, she move to Miss Melissa's room with some of her classmates from the previous room. I think the classroom transfer is based on their age and if there is a spot open in the next classroom. They have different activities to keep the kids busy, weather permitting they would play outside and they also have water days during the summer. After lunch, kids napped and they will have afternoon snacks afterwards. They organize field trips, gardening activities and plenty of drawing/writing exercises. Her last teacher is Miss Robbie, she did a great job of preparing my daughter for Kindergarten. She gave us tips of how we can encourage her to hold a pencil and reading stories. When we started here at Pathway, my little girl was shy and doesn't know how to make friends. My daughter learned a lot and when we started kindergarten she didn't struggle at all, this is all because Pathway prepared them. We left because she was starting Kindergarten and we live in a different school district. She is now in 1st grade and still remembers Miss Robbie and some of her classmates at Pathway, she keeps asking if we can come and visit her. If they were close to my house, my daughter would still be enrolled in their after school & Summer programs.
