There is one big difference: Caregiver Pay
While everyone claims to have a caregiver first mentality, or to take good care of their caregivers, or empowering caregivers, what makes Keep Safe Care unique is how much better we pay our caregivers without raising costs for our clients. As a policy, Keep Safe Care uses The 2/3 Rule®, were we pay our caregivers 2/3s of what we typically charge our clients. This results in upwards of $8 more per hour for a caregiver as illustrated below. We have accomplished this by using technology to dramatically reduce the costs associated with operating a personal in-home care agency. This means two things for our clients: First, you get more reliable and consistent care, and secondly, your will get the same caregiver giving you care, week after week. These improved efficiencies also allow us to offer same day care as well as a sliding fee scale.
Meet the Business Owner: Jeffrey F.
Jeffrey Fry had a long career as an electrical engineer in various high-tech semiconductor, communications, and equipment supplier companies including Philips, Texas Instruments, Harris, Synopsys, and Advanced Micro Devices and even forming a few tech startups on his own. That all changed when he was forced to care of his mother, Gladys, after his brother, Joshua IV, passed away in 2007. During the subsequent years of caring for his mother, Jeffrey discovered that there were quite a few things wrong with caregiving and the private duty industry in general. He promised his mother that he would fix these issues, including the poor treatment and pay of caregivers, who disproportionately are female. He started Keep Safe Care with Stacey Berlow, in part to fulfill that promise he made to his late mother. In addition, this aligns with Jeffrey’s motivation to help people on many levels including bringing joy wherever he is or whomever he deals with.
