Vada Wellness - Loved walking on this

I really wish I could leave a positive review. My sweet daughter got me a gift certificate to Vada…read morefor Christmas and I was so looking forward to my first visit. Sadly, reception was empty when I arrived and having never been there, I had no idea what to do or where to go. I sat in a waiting area for about 15 minutes but no one appeared. I finally decided to look around for someone but had no luck. My appointment was for 9:30 in the salt cave and I was running out of time. I found it on my own and laid down on one of the beds, but I felt like an intruder and I was very uncomfortable. So, after a while I decided to leave. A quick pit stop to the restroom before heading home revealed what I had been missing: directions on how to use the salt cave. By then it was too late, I was very embarrassed, and I just wanted to leave. I'll post the salt cave directions here for the next confused first timer. UPDATE: to clarify, "DO IT YOURSELF" is great for people who already know what they're doing. For a first timer, a little instruction is necessary. I had no idea what "DO IT YOURSELF" meant... did it mean walk in like I own the place and just know what to do or did it mean there would be a friendly person there who could give me a quick rundown on what I was supposed to do. It was obvious I was new to this by my clueless texts (which I will include). When I asked what I should wear, the pretty obvious response should have been, "it doesn't matter since you'll be changing into our PJs when you get here," not, "something comfortable." It really isn't obvious what to do when you get there so a few sentences of instruction could go a long way toward making first timers more comfortable.

This review is focused on their partner company, Gorgeous Goals Face & Spa…read more First of all, the location is easy to find with ample parking mere steps away from the enterance. The reception area is welcoming, and the interior is always clean and decorated tastefully and themed for the appropriate season. Beverages and candies are always available, and light snacks upon request. The esthetitian staff here are highly skilled and very cordial. The service rooms are downright luxurious, with thoughtful ambiance and extremely comfortable beds! Cassie and Donna are my forever-favorites, but overall the staff members at this spa & the partner salon (especially Erin from Natural or Not) are skilled and accommodating. Book here if you are looking for an experience which surpasses local establishments.

We were then brought to our room and everything was clean and decorated beautifully. There was sparkling wine and a platter of fresh fruit and chocolate waiting for us. We were given plenty of time to wind down and change before our service started. Cassie and Donna are very skilled and kind. They gave us back massages and exfoliations that felt divine and facials that left us both feeing amazing. I suffer from stubborn blackheads on my nose but Debbie got rid of every single one. I was amazed! Thank you for making my birthday feel special!

After reviewing Classic Nails in Exeter, I am believing the sour taste NH women have about Asian…read moreowned nail salons. Envy nails is minutes from my house. I usually go to either Envy or Venice Nails in Raymond. Both are about the same price for the usual services. Envy seems to be a bit smaller and not as updated as Venice. This was my 3rd time at Envy, and I like to go here because they have waxing services - something hard to find at a nail salon up here. I got a simple manicure/pedicure today, although I asked for a SPA pedicure, I didnt get one. (I guess the word SPA is really hard to understand at Asian nail salons?!? - same thing happened at Classic Nails!!) As my pedicure came to an end and I was ready to have my toenails painted, I realized that I didnt get any exfoliation to my feet. I guess the guy forgot?! So I made sure he scrubbed off all the rough skin from my heels and feet. He didnt seem quite happy that I called him out on his oversight. Oh well. The manicure was decent, but for a mani/pedi that cost $35 - I could have done it myself. How is $35 a deal for a mani/pedi???? The last time I checked, I wasnt getting my toes sucked. Also, I picked a color that was a bit bright and needed a 3rd coat (you can see the imperfections of my nails under the polish) - and the guy failed to realize that if you can see those things - a 3rd coat is necessary. He also put me under the fans and failed to turn them on, then disappeared right away to the back of the store for the entire time my nails were "drying". Ill go back, but only for waxing (which was done by the woman and done great!)

My review is based on one visit, so I will try to be fair. I am returning today to try to remedy…read morethe situation, and I will update afterwards. First, Envy comes highly recommended between the two nail salons in town. However, it was a strange experience for me. I was having a fill done on the set of gel nails I have and I needed one replaced. The first technician (I had FOUR separate people work on me!) took two other nails off as well. What he didn't do was try to soften them by soaking them--he just yanked them off. I'm telling you, my two thumbs hurt for two days. I could barely zip my pants. In addition, he cut my cuticle with the electric file so badly that, despite my pretty nails, I had to wear a band-aid for two days (one day to stop the bleeding and the second because I kept catching it on stuff and it would bleed again!). This did not make for pretty nails, though the SpongeBob band-aid made my kids giggle. Second, as I mentioned above, four separate people worked on me. I'm not sure why, but it was just awkward. One of them chipped one of the nail tips, and instead of taking it off and redoing it, he simply gelled over this part. It LOOKED ok, but upon close inspection, the spit on the corner was visible. Needless to say, the corner chipped off almost immediately, leaving a nice half-moon shape on the top of my thumb nail. In addition, previous to this, an entire nail popped off the DAY AFTER I had the service when I grabbed the door handle to shut the car door. I also struggled to understand the different technicians, though they understood me just fine, so that wasn't really a problem. I am going today to have the set taken off (I do not want to deal with breaking/chipping/losing nails any more). I want to have the Shellac polish instead. Hopefully they will not hurt me taking the tips off, but I'll let you know.

It should have…read morebeen a red flag that there was a crowd outside when I arrived at 10 AM, when they open, because they weren't ready for their first appointments yet (which were at 10 AM, as was mine). Unprofessional to be walking into the building at the same time as your customers. Good callus treatment, but the rest of the pedi was underwhelming and rough, as other reviewers said. After that, I sat in the pedicure chair for 20+ minutes waiting for my manicure and watching other customers who arrived after me get their manicures first (including a walk-in!); after the second time that happened, I got up, asked to have the foil removed, paid for the pedicure, and left without the manicure. Tell me why, when my appointment was at 10 AM, I am still sitting with foil on my fingers at 11:20 AM? I should have been done and out the door by that time. It seems like their staff each only does very specific things, which creates a bottleneck. Unless you have endless amounts of time and patience, go elsewhere.
