Awesome tasting room. We stopped in on our way to New Mexico and did the wine tasting. Victoria was our host. She was great very knowledgeable and very friendly after our tasting we bought 8 bottles. If your in the Wilcox area and you enjoy wine you should really stop in for a tasting.

Came to Willcox specifically to check out Keeling Schaefer Vineyards tasting room with our Amazon Local deal. The tasting room is inviting and artsy and our deal got us a tasting for two which included 4 tastes each, 2 wine glasses to keep and a bottle to take home. Our hostess wasn't particularly enthusiastic and perhaps her lack of, influenced our opinions but we didn't find anything in the tasting that was worth purchasing. Of the wines available for tasting, M and I agreed that the 2012 Rock Creek Rose was the best however it was not available to take home as our free bottle. We ended up selecting the 2009 Farmers Rhone Blend which was pretty decent. Keeling Schaefer doesn't do sweet wines which is fine by me since I'm not particularly fond of them myself, however they serve a variety of Kokopelli sweet wines in their tastings for those patrons who enjoy a sweeter wine.

This is my second visit to Keeling Schaefer and truly have enjoyed the tasting room, ambiance and the back patio. The gentleman than is the host is a gem and wonderful to speak to and very knowledgeable about the various tastings and descriptions. I think the price point of the wines are perfect and they have some excellent options. My only gripe was their credit card machine wasn't working so I had to pay in cash, was a little bit of a wait ... would have been nice to have a tasting comped since I was purchasing some bottles of wine.

Went here on 6/11. Overall decent experience. The atmosphere was nice; cute tasting room. The girl pouring the wine was very nice and friendly. The wine was good. But I was very unhappy that they were not doing the $10 wine tasting and keeping your glass promo. They knocked off $2 so the tasting was only $8 but I really wanted the glass. The girl could have made an exception but she didn't. I felt a little irritated especially since I was being friendly with her and hinting that I really liked the glass, hoping she'd let me buy it in the promo. That decision had an impact on her tip. It was only me in there at the time and she said there were about 6 boxes. Not her fault but ownership should be on top of ordering these glasses. I drove all the way from Phoenix so a bit disappointing. Not really a town I will visit often as there's not much to do here other than wine taste but I can go to Cottonwood for tasting rooms which is a lot closer. If I make it back to Willcox, not sure if I'd come back. May try the other tasting rooms instead.

This tasting room is great! It's set in an old bank building right in downtown Willcox. So cool! The wines we tasted were also pretty good and we walked away with a bottle. The gentleman serving the wine was very knowledgeable about the wine as well as the history of the building and the surrounding area. If you love history and enjoy wine, this is a must-stop on your visit to Willcox.

I like this place! Neat building that used to be an old bank in the 1900's. Kind lady at the counter. Wine not bad either!

BACKGROUND One of…read moremy favorite qualities I love about my mom is how she always loves getting out and exploring. She's had the exploring bug ever since I can remember. Getting to go on those trips with her is one of the things I miss most about traveling so much. One trip I missed that she frequently spoke fondly about is wine tasting in Willcox, Arizona. WILCOX WINES: THE HISTORY The history of Arizona's wine industry actually began in pre-Prohibition days. Back then, Arizona had more grapes than California. From Prohibition to 1980's it was illegal to make wine in Arizona. In 1982, Arizona passed a series of laws that enabled and regulated the activities of a new class of liquor license, the Domestic Farm Winery. In 2005, a Supreme Court ruling made parts of Arizona's wine laws unconstitutional. In 2006, the passage of SB1276 brought Arizona's wine laws into compliance with the Supreme Court's ruling which caused a resurgence in the Arizona wine industry. There are currently approximately 80 wineries in Arizona, in three main regions: Sonoita, Elgin and Willcox/Verde Valley. Willcox is about one hour southeast of Tucson. There are wine festivals held twice each year: the third weekend in May and the third weekend in October. THE STORY I finally had the opportunity to go with my mom to the last Willcox Wine Tasting Festival. The main tent setup is downtown, in the historic railroad section. That area is also where many of the Arizona wineries have local store fronts, like Flying Leap, Aridus, and Carlson Creek. When you arrive, you can purchase tickets which allow you to sample any of the many selections from the participating wineries. My favorite find was the Viognier from Aridus. There is also live music and most of the local restaurants are open. My favorite was Rodney's, a tiny shop where you order at the shop window from Rodney, and he serves your food out back on their outdoor patio. CONCLUSION The Willcox Wine Tasting Festival is very charming and super fun! 5/5 RECOMMEND OF NOTE *The next Willcox Wine Tasting Festival is May 19-20, 2016. *For more information: http://www.willcoxwines.com

We arrived around 3:30 PM so the tasting room was still open and we were able to taste 5 one ounce pours for $12. We asked specifically for dry wines and were very happy with the different wines that we tasted. I highly recommend the 2021 Chardonnay, that is the one we ended up purchasing. My husband enjoyed the Sangiovese as well. We had a nice quiet evening here and definitely recommend the wines.

I made a promise to myself to one day visit the vineyard in Wilcox, AZ. When that day came I found myself in downtown Wilcox where they had a tasting room but was now closed. So with a little investigation I found that they moved the tasting room to the vineyard. Brand spanking new tasting room located in the Barrel Room. What a beautiful site located at 4200 feet and about 280 acres of vines. This is the place where the best wine juice comes from. The reds are bold and the whites are crisp and suttle. Quiet and relaxing, some tables outside to sip and take it all in. No food at this time only wine. I finally made it to Wilcox....breath taking and refreshing. Pallets are like noses, we all have one. To me Carlson Creek Wines are the best in Arizona. Come check it out!
