A local favorite! Kebabs and Kurries does a lot of take out orders. so your food will be packed fresh and ready to go if you're going in that direction. I had the pleasure of dining in and ordered butter chicken with a side of garlic naan. Food came out quickly and the butter chicken was spot on. There were a lot of people in the restaurant around 9-930 when I came in (which is always a good sign). I'll have to come back to try some other things on the menu! read more

All of our selections were delicious, and matched the requested spice levels. Recommended.

The lunch special is such a great deal and tasty. It would be a great place to start when visiting for the first time. My dining partner had the dosa and also really enjoyed it. Dessert was ras malai, which was also good but, of course, very sweet. On another occasion, we ordered a large catering tray of pakora and everyone at the party really enjoyed it. Some of the best Indian food I've had! Paneer was perfectly grilled in big chunks and just the right spices and their tamarind and mint sauces are delicious. The paneer masala was excellent and the samosa chaat was perfect, and huge portion!! Service was fast and friendly. I will definitely return. The ambiance is nice too. Really delicious south indian food! A intimate place for a date or a small group. Located in a strip mall with ample parking. Upon entry we were greeted with smiles and seated immediately. Ordered the Tandoor Paneer appetizer which was perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection, the grilled onion and bell peppers were great with it. The goat curry which we got at medium spice was tender and packed a delicious punch! I didn't get the name but the tandoor pomfret was the star of the show! Succulent tandoori seasoned , baked fish was melt in your mouth heaven! The only issue is that it should be served with a side. We tried Kebabs & Kurries on a whim a few weeks ago for dinner. It's located in the same strip as Calandras, so there is ample parking. Staff were friendly and offered us suggestions from the menu and specials, as well as checked in on us frequently and asked us how we liked the meal at the end. Here's what we ordered with some notes: - Aloo Mutter - The winning order of the night, this will be a repeat order in the future when we come back - Awadhi Paneer - Our waiter Ganesh recommended this chef special to us. It was cool to try because we've never had this dish before - Veg Samosa - Tandoori Veg Momos (we had these for the first time here; we went with the tikka ones - so good!) - Garlic Naan for him - This wasn't his favorite because he prefers naan to be softer and this one here is crispier - Peshwari Naan for me - I really liked their Peshawari Naan. The service wasn't ideal. Would give it a 3/10. we asked to sit outside in which they responded indirectly telling us to eat inside and were extremely hesitant for us to eat outside because they were "understaffed" while there were multiple servers just standing without any tasks because it was empty when we came in. There was just one other couple and they acted like we were asking for a lot which wasn't a good start. & they have outdoor seating as option...but not a real option because they don't want to bring the food out? They spoke to us quietly, in murmurs, no smiles. & they didn't give us water & didn't give us cups when we asked for water (eventually we got it after asking). It felt like we didn't matter due to our ethnicity in comparison to the other pair. It seemed that they were putting more effort into satisfying caucasian guests as they tried to conversate and laugh along with them while they ignored talking to my partner and I who are both south asian. It's unacceptable to treat customers differently based on their race and we both felt like that's what happened. On the other hand, the food tasted very good. I wish there was a bit more seasoning and flavor but it was overall very good. The chicken tikka wrap could use a white yogurt sauce or another sauce to add some flavor as that was the main dish we ordered that didn't have much flavor but I understand it was intended to taste light and healthy. We stayed at the hotel right next to this restaurant and decided to try it out. The food here is excellent! We had a large order (close to 30 people) and had a wide spread of items. We ordered multiple biriyanis, tandoori chicken, momos, tandoori fish, dhal and several other items. Each dish was very good and the service was excellent as well, the staff was very kind. We came the next morning for their breakfast to eat dosas as well and we really enjoyed it. Overall excellent and definitely worth going to! read more

We absolutely loved this lovely Indian restaurant while we were visiting the East coast . Restaurant is very detailed oriented and gave the absolute traditional , luxurious Indian vibe & ambiance . Servers were very well dressed and professional! They were all helpful and attentive . We ordered some new dishes to try out and were so happy we did ! Food were also very delicious and definitely authentic ! We loved the mint they offered to us . It was made with their secret Indian styled liquorice and some others special ingredients ! Such a cozy little hole-in-the-wall spot! Love the ceiling details and funky lights, gives it such a cool vibe. The chili fries were the star, crispy, spicy, and sooo good. We got the Punjabi Chicken Curry and Dhaba Butter Chicken, both full of flavor and actually spicy like we asked . Ended with piping hot gulab jamun, soft, sweet, and the perfect finish. I go to school in West Caldwell but I live over an hour away. I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala to take home and I don't know what I got. It had bell peppers and onions and was soooo brown and oily. I tried to eat it anyway but it was not good. I'm so sad I don't even want to eat the rest of it. read more

If I could give this place a 4.5 stars, I would. The inside was spacious, clean, and well-lit. Also service was friendly and quick. We got a variety of items: - Pani Puri: [6.5/10] Flavor was okay with the right amount of spicy but could have used a lot more filling. - Chicken Samosas: [7.5/10] They were hot and herbaceous. Very good but nothing mindblowing. - Mixed Grilled Platter: [8/10] Everything was well season and very tender - we especially loved the chicken. - Lamb Makhani: [7/10] Flavorful and creamy but the lamb was overcooked. It wasn't anything crazy but it was decent. - Garlic Naan: [8/10] Fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside. well, We found another restaurant from the house names- "Dhaba". we have 3-4 Dhaba restaurants near our home. they have more in NYC as well, might be I'll try them when I'll be in the city. coming to this- it was Saturday evening, and one of our friends was visiting us, so we came here for lunch. surprisingly we were the only ones in the restaurant for the whole duration. did not see that coming (though saw lots of GrubHub-door dash coming to pick up stuff) as we were the only one- the focus was on us. we ordered lots of items Drums of Heaven - 3.5/5, they used their own sauce, which tastes like BBQ, but they confirmed it's their in-house, not bbq. Galouti Kabab- Nope, I won't order it again, yes it was minced with spices and all but the taste was nowhere near to "galouti Kebab". 2/5 Rogan Josh Lamb- 3/5. ok, so my search for 'real organ Josh' still continues. it was more like tomato-based gravy. Hakka Noodles- 4.5/5. somehow noodles were great, my wife liked it. Mixed Grill Platter- 4/5. mixed of chicken, shrimp, lamb chops, and mutton- cooked well on the sizzling plate - would recommend and naan, chai, etc... Overall food was good, if not great. it's not like what a find it is. yeah, I can come again to try other items. Price- compare to similar restaurants, it's very reasonable, for e.g; Drums of Heaven costs only $9. Disclaimer; I've been to India over 140 times for work. This place is simply amazing. Nothing misses...the staff are so nice and welcoming. The Lucknowi Paneer Tikka was sublime. All the grilled veggies peppers and onions compliment the dish so well. The Dhaba butter chicken is gorgeous. I feel like i am at the ITC Mumbai or Westin Delhi on layover and just got the most generous portion of fall off the bone chicken thighs in a spicy tomato gravy that Mom has been making for 3 days. Tried kebabs & Kurries tonight for the first time and it was delicious. Let me start by saying we have had tons of Indian food from all over NJ & NY and this was one of the best we've had. They were super accommodating for our baby in a small stroller and gave us excellent service. We ordered onion pakora, mixed grill platter (tandoori), drums of heaven (chicken wings with a chili sauce), butter chicken, and two types of naan bread. Everything was excellent. Our butter chicken was very tasty but we wished it was a bit spicier. They generously took it and made it spicier for us even though we didn't ask them to. We have NEVER had that kind of service. Tried on a whim based on the photos on Uber Eats - I was highly disappointed with my order. Chicken Tikka Masala should be red in color - what I got was a grey sludge with a heavy amount of oil separated in the container. This clearly was not made fresh - looks like it was taken from a pot that had been standing or even from a buffet pan. It was clearly not freshly made. The Paneer Tikka Masala also did not seem freshly made. The two orders of naan - some were okay others seemed uncooked/doughy. Will never go back here - they lost my business. I went for dinner on a Tuesday and it was actually quite busy and now I know why. The food is really really good. I highly recommend the stuffed hot peppers and chaat to start. Chaat is kinda like Indian nachos that are cold, hot, sweet, savory, and tart all at once. Really good. We got naan and rice of course but had butter chicken and lamb curry as well as the okra. The food was super flavorful. My only gripe is that I ordered medium spicy and they weren't spicy at all. They have an extensive menu. I want to go back and try other things. Food here is generally good, have tried chole bhature which is quite good so ordered goat biryani today, it was bit disappointing, goat pieces were super chewy and not fresh, almost inedible and had to discard, and the funniest thing was they sent me 2 tbsp of raita, have never seen raita come with biryani in such a small packaging in which generally chilli sauce is served, it would have been better if they didn't send it altogether. We liked it, overall. First try out and would return. Garlic Naan good, not underdone, had some crisp and chew, a few nice bubbles. I asked for my entree, that is Butter Chicken, as medium spice, it's my usual request level I'm good with but here I was given a very spicy level dish instead, very much, but still I soldiered through it bc I was hungry and even so spiced was quite strong, I was still able to know and taste the dish would've been more pleasing, had it been made just as requested, as spiced, medium level. I also requested option for white meat. Next time I will make sure of no spice mistakes. As well, they should let patrons know if they choose to order "white meat" for their dish, this upcharge on check was high, I was surprised to see was $4 for mine added to the entree price? My friend had the red kebab, he was fine with thigh meat here, and had it in some places. A couple we've gone to, also, do use as their standard white meat breast. He'd asked for his no spice and it came quite spicy too not as much as mine was. Those are my only notes about this place so far and that we do want to try it again but with a couple mods. The saag was perfectly seasoned (spicy level), tandoori vegetables and dumplings were full of wonderful spices and their pickled veggies on the side were excellent. some friends took us for dinner yesterday to Kebabs & Kurries. It's a somewhat small place but The staff is very polite, welcoming , professional and helpful. The amazing part was the menu with so much variety and diversity. We had ordered Garlic Naan, Onion Kulcha, Maharani Daal,Kofta curry and Goat curry. Every item was exceptionally delicious and served in large bowls.We were 4 guests and everyone felt the same that food was super satisfying .We ate and but still had enough leftovers for another round of dinner so we brought it home. I recommend medium spice and either go earlier or after 6.00 PM as it gets crowded. Oh, forgot to mention that the onions they served were disappointing as they were cut unevenly and served unimpressively.
