My only criticism was that they share a bathroom with the whole building and you have to go into a hallway and a locked area to access it. I really dislike paying for services and finding out you need to share the bathroom with a bunch of other people. We decided to have the Lotus Family Platter and for 65 dollars, you really can't find a more filling, delicous meal on Whyte Ave. It came with 5 skewers of koobideh (grilled lamb and beef kababs), 2 chicken kababs, platter of saffron rice, grilled tomatoes, and salad. Everything was delish. I also loved the complementary tea that they served, which is based on such a rich hospitality that this culture has. We also had saffron ice cream which was delish and I tried a basil seed drink (which they call sherberts) which was lovely. Definitely give it a try. Hopefully if they do well so they can have a stand alone restaurant with their own bathroom!

They made us feel genuinely welcome and even offered us a complimentary tea, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was excellent. We ordered a Persian meal with grilled kebab, rice, fresh salad, and roasted vegetables. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The rice was perfectly cooked, the meat was tender and well-seasoned, and the sides complemented the dish really well. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable, making it a great place to sit down and enjoy a proper meal. You can really tell the owners care about their guests and take pride in what they serve. Overall, it was a fantastic experience -- great food, kind service, clean and a welcoming environment. We'll definitely be coming back.

They were both delicious but the samosas were particularly good, and the fries they were with were also fantastic, hot and crispy. The restaurant was sadly empty with all the seating put away due to the shut down, but the proprietor was very carefully checking vaccine status of everyone who came by, even to pick up food. He was very sad about the pandemic; sounds as if they're really struggling, and have lost a lot of money during all the shut downs. I recommend giving this place a try and supporting a local business if you're in the mood for samosas or similar!

This visit back in the summer was no different. Maybe because it was an early Tuesday evening? No clue. I love what they've done to the front as there's now a couple tables outside to sit and enjoy the food. I kind of wish that this faced the back of the building instead of the front where all you get to see is the endless amount of cars zooming by but that's beside the point. It's awesome to be able to sit outside now. The menu's have got a nice upgrade since my original visit. Love how there's an accompanied picture for each dish. - Spinach boulany ($9.95) - whole wheat crust stuffed with spinach and spices. Pan fried and served with yogurt and dry mint. These could have been a bit more crispy but the inside was flavourful and nicely stuffed with spinach. - Kebab platter ($39.99) - a mixed variety of skewers of chicken, beef and seekh kebabs. Two patties of chaplee kebab and three pieces of chicken legs marinated with herbs and special spices. Comes with a small rice and fries. The description fails to mention it also comes with a side of salad AND samosa's. Huge amount of food. Come hungry, really hungry. I believe the kebab platter (regularly $45.95) is on special Monday and Tuesday, which is an incredibly good deal. What can I say about the kebab platter that I haven't said before? Delicious, aromatic rice. Crispy fries worth eating. Meat on meat on meat. Seriously, you'll be carnivored out by the time you finish with this platter. My only wish is that they gave more of the accompanied sauces, but you can always ask for more. - Fresh fruit - we wanted to try their baghlava but they were out for the day. Our waiter/the owner was the nicest guy and brought out some fresh fruit and a dessert instead (almost like a custard/rice pudding). A nice mix of pineapple, grapes and honeydew. The honeydew wasn't ripen enough but c'est la vie. Next time you're in Chinatown and looking for a new place to eat, give ACK a go. Delicious.

This place is tucked away in a strip mall in the north end. Pretty basic on the inside, but clean. It is a little confusing though, because they hand you the menus, and then they don't say that you needed to go up to order. We figured this out, but another couple left and I think it was I think that they thought they were not being served. Thorough menu but no real vegatarian options (just salad and hummus). I was surprised that there wasn't a falafel dish. Anyway, Hubby decided on the Iraqi kabobs, kiddo 1 went with a chicken shamarma wrap, and I chose the grilled fish. Birthday girl got the fries. Food came out a bit on the slow side, but it was really busy in there. Food was flavourful. My husband and I got a complimentary soup which was rich in taste. My fish was perfectly grilled, and it came with a boatload of seasoned rice. Hubby's kababs were spicy and delicious and came with the same rice as I but also a side salad and hummus and pita. I sampled the hummus and it was delicous. Nice and creamy. Both kids were excited about their dishes. Perhaps a little on the high side for price considering the ambiance, but food was good. I would come here again.

My fiancé and I typically share one order of chicken kabab as there is plenty of food for us. Their rice really stands out, which is so crucial when it is the base of this genre of cuisine. It has so much zest! The meals include delicious humus, and kebab-shop sauce (white garlic sauce). Further they have an unreal delicious salad included, which is particularly appreciated considering most shops put little to no effort into an included salad due to it not being the main dish. The attention to detail from the team at Kabsa is fabulous. Could not be happier having found my new summer-time staple!
