People may grouse about interest rates, but bank interest has been nearly nonexistent for years, so I'm not sure what they want. The other complaints I hear are about overdraft fees, but if, like a responsible adult, you keep enough money in your account to cover your debits, that is amazingly never a problem. I find the staff here friendly, helpful, and efficient. The company as a whole is fantastic, because there are branches everywhere. You put your money in, and they give it back to you or pay it out as you need it. It's a bank, for Pete's sake. It's not a day spa or a charity.

i live out of state but i received a td personal check that was a td check and from that branch…read more when i went to cash it i was told there was a $10.00 charge because i don't have an account. i don't understand if it's you're check, you're branch, and you would be able to tell if there's the money in the account, no risk to the bank then why should i loose $10.00 for no reason other than you screwing a non customer. so i informed the person that gave me the check and they are pissed and will be closing their account. called customer service and was told that i should go back to the bank and talk to the manager, why should i be inconvenienced to waste my time and there is no guarantee they would waive the fee?????

Today i went to close my mother's checking account as she passed away. I had ALL the necessary…read moredocuments even probate letter. After over an hour of several people who apparently don't know their jobs looking at my paperwork I'm told they need to scan it to someone else to look at. After an additional half hour, I'm told they have to send it to legal because the probate form is from another state (Florida). The incompetency is staggering. The manager knew I was upset and yet she never came to talk with me. Now I'm told I need to wait 2-4 buisness days for funds to be released. I asked what exactly was the issue; I was told they have to verify form is authentic. I asked why they couldnt just call the number for probabte court and give them the case number. "The branch" can't do that. It is hard enough losing a loved one; to have to jump through additional hoops is ridiculous. Stay away from PNC they certainly don't give a darn about their customers.
