The entire staff knows my name, as well as my children's names. We are always greeted with a smile and a friendly attitude. I have been banking with PNC since 2009 and this particular branch makes banking enjoyable. The staff answers any questions that I have. If one staff member doesn't know the answer, he or she will do their best to find out the information I need. When I was having some financial difficulties, one associate was more than happy to go over my finances and sort out the rut I was in. She offered advice and explored various options I could take. Long story short - the ATM machine broke and took my money and debit card with no deposit. Upon letting the bank know, they claimed I would need to fill out a dispute form and it would take up to 14 business days to get the money back!! So mind you, all of my bills will now overdraft my account and I have no cash whatsoever. The head bank teller claimed the ATM is serviced by another company and there was nothing else they could do to help me. Having a job where I make cash tips I often rely on the ATM to make my deposits, but I won't be anymore.

I would never recommend OceanFirst Bank to anyone…read more I deposited over $10,000 of my own money into my personal account and, as a courtesy, gave the bank a full week's notice that I wanted to withdraw it in cash. I simply asked them to let me know which day the following week the cash would be available. Instead of accommodating a reasonable request, I received a call from an OceanFirst mortgage representative questioning why I wanted to withdraw my own money and insisting that I provide a reason. That is completely unacceptable. My response was simple: it is my money, and I do not owe anyone an explanation for accessing my own funds. The only reason I have a checking account with OceanFirst is because I was required to open one to receive a better mortgage interest rate. If not for that requirement, I would never have banked here. This experience was unprofessional, intrusive, and disrespectful. Customers should not be interrogated simply for withdrawing their own money after giving the bank advance notice. If this is how OceanFirst treats its customers, I cannot recommend doing business with them. There are plenty of banks that respect their customers and understand that their money belongs to them--not the bank. I will be closing my accounts as soon as possible and taking my business elsewhere.
