Just left here. The lady behind the register was super friendly. I appreciated her remembering my name and using it to say goodbye. I got a salad. It was a nice size and fresh. I only went to KD's because of all the positive reviews but I do not see what they see. In my book KD stands for KEEP DRIVING! I ordered the Brisket Sandwich and my husband ordered the Waycross Ruben and they were horrible. The meat portions were equal to a child's sandwich, my Brisket was over salted and the slaw was also. The fries were equivalent to a .99 fry at Checker's but we paid $2 for them. The Ruben was turkey and slaw instead of corn beef and sauerkraut. I love salt, I will suck on salt rocks that my mom uses to make ice cream, and I'm telling you this was SALTY! read more

Great place for lunch. Lots of options to chose from. There were four in our party and we all had "soups"--Brunswick Stew, Chili and Soup of the day. All were excellent. Surprised at the good reviews. I had a chicken pasta as I was told its their most popular. Unfortunately it's Nothing more than noodles with cubed chicken, graded cheddar and bacon bits thrown in microwave, horrible combo! We were driving through Waycross and wanted to stop by somewhere local for dinner. After reading the positive reviews for KDs Cafe, we were pleased to see they are open for dinner on Thursday and Friday nights. I had the Greek salad (very tasty dressing!) and the veggie burger, which was also very tasty. The salad was huge and I could have probably just eaten that but the veggie burger was so good I finished it as well. We would love to stop by here again on our next time through Waycross. I've eaten there twice and had the Moi Burger the first time - burger with pimento cheese and bacon yummmm....and the Waycross Reubon with turkey, coleslaw and swiss. Both were delicious and a great value for the money. Would rather someone local get my lunch money rather than a chain!!! read more

So far I like their veggie burger, their brunswick stew, and love their grilled pimento cheese sandwich. BUT... I haven't liked their tuscan sandwich or the nimmer sandwich. I have a few suggestions, which I hope they take well if they read this: On their lunch menu they have flatbread, however, it's not flatbread it's a sliced loaf bread. It's a tasty bread but it's not flatbread. If they can make flatbread that will be great because herbs and spices can be added to the flatbread dough - this will add flavor to the tuscan sandwich that is lacking flavor. Or to improve the tuscan sandwich, sundried tomatoes and basil can be added, even some buffalo mozzarella. As for the nimmer sandwich maybe using fresh pears will make it tastier. All in all I'm happy to have a place like KD's Cafe in Waycross, GA as I come from a larger city. I hope to keep trying different foods on their menu. read more
