The actual restaurant was a little quiet place. Not a ton of business but so much character! Clean and overall a nice place! I will definitely be back when I come into town again!

I got the fried goza and the yaku udon. I was super excited. It came out in about 5 mins. OK portion. I tried the goza with the ponzu sauce. Ponzu too salty for me and not much flavor. Ditto that for the goza. Crunchy but zero flavor. I don't even know what I was eating. And unfortunately the same for the udon. The chicken which you get a good amount was way overcooked and hard, flavorless and dry. It was supposed to be to have veggies and it had some lettuce on top and a few shredded carrots but no real veggies. The noodles had a nice coating of sauce and were OK but couldn't make up for the dish. Very disappointing overall. Reviews good so I was excited. But honestly it was not good. This is a skip. Maybe an off night but it wasn't good.

They use the thin rice noodles and it was filled with plenty of chicken, pork, beef and shrimp. We love the sweet and sour sauce here. It is deep red with a touch of vinegar in the sauce and they let you have the sauce on the side so the chicken batter is crunchy. We also had the Vietnamese egg rolls and crab cheese. Sooo delicious. Our server has been there for years and was spot on with the service. I highly recommend trying this wonderful family owned restaurant.

Overall Rating: 10/10 Final Verdict: wasabi sushi and Chinese is by far one of the best sushi places I've ever tried and as someone who goes out of their way to try as many as possible- This one exceeded my expectations. Would I return? If I could eat here on a daily basis I would. Would I recommend it? Absolutely it would be a great place to get together with friends or even bring a couple family members or have a date night.

Overall, the food was very good. The hunan chicken was packed with broccoli, mushrooms and chicken. And it was just the right level of spicy (I chose medium). The sushi rolls were okay too. I will definitely try more of their menu items next time but probably skip the sushi rolls. The order was prepared quickly and food was hot when we got it home. This place is a good choice for Chinese food in my book.

Egg drop soup was a huge portion serving three people easily, but under-salted. Sesame chicken was served nice and hot. The flavor was a bit mild, but they allowed us to order with all white meat for a 2$ up charge. Sushi rolls were on the small side. You get what you expect at this price. Miso soup lacked flavor. Our last order was the chicken and vegetables. It tasted great and was served hot, but it came 10 min after all the rest of the food was served. There were only two people working and they were often in the back. This made it difficult to request things like chop sticks or salt and pepper. The place is small and likely more for takeout. Overall, I'd eat from here again but would do take-out for the better experience.

But one day I was driving down Lake Michigan and I saw a sign for Bamboo Express so I thought that I would give it a try. The place is on the smaller side, and it is easily missed, and unfortunately it is only take-out or delivery. I was disappointed by the fact that it wasn't a sit down restaurant, but I guess I should have expected that with the name. But I still gave it a try and just took the food home. I ordered a small hot & sour soup, and the orange chicken combo which came with fried rice and an egg roll. All of the food was fresh and had a pretty good taste, and the prices were reasonable. I liked the hot & sour soup. It wasn't the best I had, but was still very good, and I appreciated that they gave wonton strips to eat with the soup. The egg roll and fried rice were decent, nothing special but better than a lot that I have had. However they did not give any sweet & sour sauce for the egg roll. Luckily I had grabbed some duck sauce just in case. I really liked the orange chicken. It had a good flavor and your could tell that it was made fresh. It had plenty of sauce, which I liked. It also had a reasonable of orange peels which definitely added to the orange taste. The only thing that would have made it better had been more broccoli. There were a few pieces, but not many. I would definitely go to this place again, they even offer online ordering.
