    Scary Fun!

Definitely more of a fall festival versus the pumpkin patches I grew up with! Online tickets are cheaper, $ 20.49 per person versus $25 ( plus tax ) in person. Bring your camera and be prepared for lots of kids. There are a ton of photo opportunities, free activities for kids ( and young at heart ). The staff are helpful and are happy to snap group pictures. Oh, and they sell pumpkins, gourds, and hard cider. They also have food ( warm donuts are 3 for $5 ). Everything is cashless . The nicer restrooms are inside near the entrance behind the bar. The only thing they need to add is a coffee shop. Their non-alcoholic options are soda, lemonade, or hot chocolate... It'd be nice to have draft cider or a pumpkin spiced latte ...

We enjoyed our time during KC Sunflower Festival! It was a disappointment with crop but overall we had a blast with the Apple canon and Slides! It was a hot day too! Love the attention to detail and the games available to enjoy!

For the price, there was so many things to do for all ages. Many mini games and activities. Easily spent a 3 hour here. We didn't get to try any food there but there was a little cute sauce dispenser. Everyone is nice and helpful there. We'll most likely be back again next year.

My daughter loves dinosaurs and we found out about Jurassic Farm from a friend. I forgot how much the entry fee was. $17? $20? There were a few different menu items. The pizza and cheeseburger was pretty good. The lemonade and wine slushy was lacking a bit, but the prices were reasonable so I'll give them that. There were a bunch of free activities for kids here. I think only a few costed an additional fee (gem mining, paintball target shooting, and an animatronic dinosaur ride). We went in the afternoon on the very last day that the attraction was open. There were still quite a few people, but not super crowded. Every single employee was nice and helpful which made the experience pleasant. The only downside is that they had portable potties scattered around and they didn't smell all that good. I wish there had been a proper restroom on site.

8 Acres of fun activity for the kids! It's bigger than it looks from the outside. Bring comfortable waking shoes because there is plenty to see!

I've lived in KC my entire life and never been to KC pumpkin patch. We wanted a fun place to go with our little one for a fall activity. Anyone under two is free entry, but it was $32 bucks for me and my husband to get in. I asked what that included and the lady at the front told us over 50 activities. There are a lot of activities inside that cost extra which was disappointing. The pumpkins are a bit pricey (to be expected). We paid $11 for one big pumpkin and too mini ones. The food trucks were one of the highlights for sure. We got a bag of hot cider donuts for $5 bucks. I got a cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks for $12 and my husband got a philly cheese steak sandwich for $9. There were plenty of slides that were free to use and smaller activities that are fun for 5 and under. There are three goats you can feed, duck races, little bikes to ride, and sandboxes. I will say the place was packed and even though it was outside, none of the attractions were regulated for social distancing (almost impossible), so if you're worried about catching COVID, you might not want to come here. We did get a hard apple cider and a hard apple cider slushie. Those were awesome!! The pumpkin patch is literally just a dirt field where you can pick already picked pumpkins. Kind of gave me the same feeling as I would picking out a pumpkin at a store or a farmers market. Overall maybe wouldn't come again.

My family went to KC Pumpkin Patch for the Rockin Winter Wonderland which is advertised as a mile of Christmas lights and decor. On check in, you are given complimentary kettle corn (yum!) and allowed to buy KC Wine Co slushes or wine bottles. We got a growler of the sangria slush and a bottle of their cab. It was a bit expensive, but we're really wanting to support local businesses right now during the pandemic so whatever. The sangria slush was delicious, but we've yet to open the cab. The Wonderland itself is quick, it only takes about 10-15 minutes to get through the mile. We expected this beforehand but unfortunately that still left us pretty disappointed in how quickly it ended. The lights are cute, but we were expecting a little bit more. They weren't synced to the music or anything, so it wasn't a "light show" if that's what you're expecting. That would be cool in the future. Overall, our toddler enjoyed it and we appreciated a quick covid-safe outing, but we were left wanting more. I'd say it's worth going the first time, especially if you have young kids who will enjoy the magic of the season.

$27 for admission ticket, then you have to pay much more for the food and drink inside. The place is small and everything was super pricy. There wasn't much pumpkins in this pumpkin patch to worth the price. They are having some Halloween decorations and some random games for kids. In my opinion, it's not worth the price for this tiny pumpkin patch comparing to the other ones in KC for the same price.

The Jurassic experience is a lot of fun for they young kids. It runs weekends through the month of June. The animatronics are life size and fun for kids that love dinosaurs. The ride is a very slow Dino ride and meant for little kids but my 3 year old loved it. The fossil mine is extra but the bag of sand is loaded with treasures and makes a fun water experience on the hot day. The patch has all the usually slides and obstacle courses and fun games. They have a concession with fresh lemonade and slushes kid friendly and their usually wine slushes and adult beverages. We had the pulled pork Mac and cheese which was tasty and a large portion. Strollers/wagons are welcome but my kiddos was so busy she didn't ride it much. There is a lot of gravel walking paths but if it rains be prepared to be muddy. But miss washes so have fun !

Pumpkin picking time! Love fall and that wonderful time time of year. KC has several pumpkin patches around the area, all priced about the same. Decided to visit the KC Pumpkin Patch in Olathe. For nine bucks you get access to the many on site activities for kids of all sizes. Ranging from zip line, slides, trike racing, train rides, children's corn maze, tether ball, and a huge jump mat. Lots of cute photo ops, fall decorations and sitting areas. You are welcome to buy food on site or bring your own. Picnic tables available. They even have a baby changing and nursing building. Porta potties are easily accessible as well. We visited during the week, which apparently has less activities open. While it's probably busier on the weekend, I would visit then to get the biggest bang for your buck. The pumpkin patch was fairly disappointing. Smaller field with mostly broken, moldy or bug ridden pumpkins left. Did not end up going home with one like I intended. Overall great place to take the kiddos to run off some extra energy and enjoy the best parts of the fall season!

One of the many photo ops.

We spent a lot of time riding the toy tractors, fishing, mining for gold, playing with the goats, and--of course--washing our hands over and over. We also took a hayrack ride with the famous Budweiser horses, which was a real treat. There are various buildings with eateries, small museums, and interactive exhibits. I was pleasantly surprised--and happy--that they sell healthy (and not-so-healthy) kid-friendly food. The Farmstead is also incredibly affordable. Admission is only $5, and most activities and food options are very reasonably priced. The size is perfect--big enough to explore without feeling crowded, but manageable enough to see most activities in a couple of hours. Plus, it's all outdoors with live animals, which makes it extra fun. The Farmstead depicts a Kansas family farm in the early 1900s, with over 250 animals, a country schoolhouse, and plenty of hands-on activities. Highly recommend for families looking for an educational, fun, and affordable day out!

Schaake's covers you for all of the above, just outside of Lawrence. Some other area pumpkin patches and farms offer pumpkin "picking" by simply setting up a ton of pumpkins for you to pick from a pile which is essentially the same as a grocery store. Schaake's is great because you can actually traipse through the fields, step over the vines and pluck your own pumpkins straight from the farm. In non-Covid times, they have a tractor ride to take you out and it'll pick you up so you don't have to haul them back. Covid times, they've added wheelbarrows up front so you can haul them easily. There are other little fun things here like a pumpkin slingshot, a chicken coop, concessions with cider & kettle corn, hay bale maze, cows, and an old school playground area. If you like the peaceful openness of rural Kansas, this farm will certainly deliver on that, even though it's very close to Lawrence. If it's one of those perfect weekends in October, know that it's going to be very busy, but it's always fun no matter how packed it gets. It's worth the trip over from KC as well as we haven't found a better pumpkin patch anywhere around.

They have plenty of live berry bushes and small trees in the nursery part of the farm and so many pumpkins. You couldn't walk five feet without finding more pumpkins!! They have a cute little building which houses all the canned jams, jellies, honey, and syrups that they have available. My wife and I spotted some peach and blackberry jalapeño jam and I was hooked!! Who doesn't love a little kick to their morning toast? They even had a small corn maze in the back of the farm for kids. As well as a sizable bonfire pit set right next to a stream that looks like it's amazing on cool autumn nights. They have a rabbit, three donkeys, and a cat who wonders the property. Being an animal lover I couldn't resist saying hello to the donkeys. One was rather happy to see me pick up the brush and pet him for 10 minutes while the other two eyed me down. When we were there it was quite and peaceful as we were the only customers. Talking with the lady who helped us she said "wait until tomorrow and this place will be full". She went on to tell us that it's mainly busy with school trips during the week and that on Wednesday they had a kindergarten class come through to learn and make their own cider. Did I mention that yet? You can schedule a hayride and make your own fresh squeezed cider!! If that's not a reason to get some friends together this fall then I don't know what is!! If you're looking for a cute intimate farm to get your fresh pumpkins look no further!! This place is worth the drive.
