I selected KC Construction to do an estimate on a full kitchen remodel. I wanted to view from their top of the line cabinets, purchase all new appliances etc. This would have been a big job. I was ok with the timing of the remodel but when it came to setting an appointment to consult, the associate would not meet without my husband being present...I am the designer of all of the work we have done in our house. How archaic is it that I needed to have my 'Big Strong Man' to accompany me in order to even discuss the project. Too bad for this company. read more

I had them install gutters and I discovered after a couple of months that they leak a lot. I asked for them to come back and fix it. After sending them a video of the leaking over an email, the secretary forwarded the information to the manager and the secretary got back to me saying they can return for 250 dollars to fix it. I tried a couple of times to connect with the manager but was unable to get through to them. They do not stand by their work. Also, I found a some debris from the previous gutters and scrap metal around my property as they do not clean up well after themselves. I get uneasy everytime I need to hire a contractor. I've had some pretty bad experiences, and have heard even worse stories from others. I came to KC Contruction via their 'other name' GutterPro USA: Seamless Gutters. I worked with their Rochester, NY Office. (They are based in Endwell, NY) The person who met with us and gave us the estimate was very helpful and did a very nice job, not to aggressive of a salesman. A little more than I expected, but the guarantee and quality seemed to allow for slightly higher than I expected. I later called and said YES to the estimate, they asked me to send a deposit equal to 50% of the total cost. Which I did. About a week later, I was making my morning tea, and they pulled up. No appointment date set. Would have been fine, but we needed to do some painting before the new gutters could be installed. So I had to send them away. Once we were ready, I called back and scheduled. They showed on time. They got all of the old gutters removed and new ones installed in about 4 hours with a crew of two people! Kind and friendly people, they did a good job. They even took the old gutters away with them. So far, so good. They look great, and I have not spotted any problems. read more

They refused to give me an estimate because I could not meet with them "in person" (during a global pandemic mind you) just to get an estimate. This is a rental property, one of 3 that I own, and all the other companies that I called were able to give me estimates and talk with me over the phone if they had any questions and my tenants were able to let them in etc. I live too far from my properties to have to meet with contractors every time they come to do estimates or work, and many of them don't even show up when you make an appointment, so this policy is absurd. KC Construction just lost 3 properties worth of potential business. Not a smart business move. read more

I called KC Construction for an estimate on a small siding repair job. The person who called to schedule the estimate told me that they would not do the estimate unless my wife was present. I tried to explain that 1) for the moment I only wanted and estimate and 2) I was the one who handled such things in our house. She would not budge. I hung up. Clearly they have some sort of scam going where the pressure people into signing a contract on the spot and probably up-sell as well. Stay away from these scam artists. read more

A phone call today for an estimate due to one cabinet door being damaged resulted in me being told I would have to put a $500 deposit down just for the estimate. For one damn door. Reason I was given is that insurance companies take soooo long. Funny thing, my insurance adjuster said it would probably only be 2-4 days!!! Unbelievable. So, now what do I do? Great company, we had new Windows, vinyl siding and a roof install last year. They did a wonderful job. The price was very fair. This year we had the kitchen and one bathroom remodeled. Again a Great job and the price was less than other companies. Call them you won't be sorry. read more

We used KC Construction for a roof tear off and replacement. What a horrible experience! They left 6 dead patches of grass and destroyed countless plants and trees around the house. They even decided it was a good idea to park their trash trailer on our grass overnight, even though they driveway was left clear for them to use! In March of 2015 we set up an appointment for a free in home estimate. An hour before the person whom was coming to do the estimate called and cancelled due to inclement weather and said he would call back to set up another date to come out. He never called back, so after a week I called back and set up the second date for them to come out and give us an estimate. Again, they cancelled because this time he was stuck at someone else's house doing an in home estimate. So a third date was set up and the guy kept the appointment this time. We were excited speaking with the guy because he also does the designs for the renovation projects for the company. We were interested in having a kitchen remodel, roof, two entry doors and a patio door installed. Probably anywhere between $20,000-40,000 project. He said we would have the estimate in about 3-5 days. After a week I called and they said they'd get right back to us. I called back 2-3 times every week for almost 2 months. Still to this day, we haven't received one word from these people. He was in our home for 2-3 hours, and it turns out the only thing that was free was him wasting our time. If I have to hover and nag for a free estimate, I can only imagine the close watch I'd have to keep on this company as they worked in my home. read more
