The following paragraph, and the pictures attached, was from the email sent to the owner/operator after our first, and only, night. The email was resent after receiving a generic "Thank you for staying with us" email on 8/21/26. When we left in the morning I also sent a text message to the contact number we were given. As of the date of this review (8/30/26) I have received no response in any form. I cannot argue the lack of refund due to accepting the policy when booking but I would expect an acknowledgment of my communications. I will say that the common area inside did appear to be nicely maintained and clean. My rating is based on the significant differences between website photos/descriptions and actual conditions and the complete lack of response to my communications. "We were very disappointed in the condition of the inn. Aside from the cosmetic condition around the outside of the building, we were disappointed to find light bulbs out in our room, the bathroom doorknob that appeared ready to fall off, curtains and blinds that did not block the streetlights streaming in, missing blinds on one window, windows that could not be locked, no apparent climate control for our room (even a table fan would have been helpful), a thoroughly unimpressive view of basketball courts and a skate park (not Washington Park) from our window, and under the bed looked like it had not been cleaned. While the room was sufficient enough to sleep in for one night, we did not feel that it was worth staying as we were celebrating an anniversary and had expected a more intimate and comfortable stay. The pictures and descriptions from the website appeared to be somewhat misleading. I recall the refund policy did not include early check outs but in light of the multiple deficiencies at the property that prompted our early departure, and given that the room will be available to you for rebooking, I am respectfully requesting a partial refund of 50% (just the room fee for 2 nights) of our reservation cost. "

The room we reserved was not the room we stayed in therefore making it difficult to work without a desk and the extra space we paid for but didn't get. No one apologized for this inconvenience. The amenities were not as stated on their website either. Only one bike available, no pressed coffee, no charcuterie either. Our bed was comfortable but our room either too hot or very cold. Easy parking and very clean. The cleaning lady was very nice! Make sure and stay upstairs, the rooms downstairs I think would not be very quiet. If the amenities were as they advertised I would stay here again.

One of our favorite perks is the option to purchase one of Elizabeth's beautifully curated baskets. Each is designed to cook over your fire pit with provided cast iron cook wear (the wine that can accompany each meal is quite delicious as well!) at your camp site. They provide a very diverse breakfast, which changes somewhat daily, however there is also a nice variety to choose from including Greek yogurt which is what I typically have with berries and almonds. The gym is open 24hrs a day, the staff is very helpful and the location is great given that the street has dozens of restaurants, shops and the airport nearby.

The rooms are commercial, the shower is perfect, and noise level is not low, it is non-existent. The hotel is always spotless as if it had been built the day before. The cleaning staff and housekeepers are efficient, kind, and professional. The breakfast in the morning is worth waking up for. Eggs, meats, potatoes, fruit, yogurt, breads, cereals, oatmeal, and coffee and tea are available each more. Those staff members are ultra-kind and fast. Drinking and dining at The Placery was wonderful. I had the turkey pesto sandwich on two occasions and it was perfect each time. The bartenders are kind and make great martinis. The fitness is clean with new equipment. Water and towels are also available. The security is excellent and a guest's room key allows access to the elevator, stairs, and outer doors in the late hours. As I night owl, I went out often in the wee hours and never had an issue or felt unsafe. Paid parking ($10 per day) is right next to the property and the Albany Parking app worked without issue. Only two issues: The front desk staff is efficient but the only one of them ever smiled. They often seem angry or annoyed or just plain anti-social. These people are the face of the Hyatt and should be kinder and far more welcoming. The only recycling bin is in the Fitness Center. I once brought two plastic bottles to breakfast, which I was going to bring downstairs to the bin, but a staff member picked them up and threw them right out in the regular trash. Highly recommended and I look forward to returning.

So the parking is slightly annoying but is a max of $10 in a 24 hr period, which is not that bad at all. I think anything past 10 hrs the max pay is $10 and you can come in and out within that time period without paying more. The parking lot is very close to the hotel--a 3 minute walk maybe (use the outdoor lot under the highway and not the indoor lot, as the outdoor is much cheaper, which I was advised by the front desk clerk. The hotel itself is immaculate and new--I did not see any garbage, discoloration or anything that looked like it was getting old. The front desk employee was extremely friendly and welcoming when I came in-my room was fantastic! The bed was comfortable, a large TV and even a couch in the room with a mini fridge. The shower was new and was clean and had great pressure. Every employee I came across (including those working in the breakfast area) were friendly and polite, with a smile on their face. The lobby is actually upstairs from where you park-but the signs are very clear when arriving how to get to the lobby (and you need to use a room key to get to other floors). They had fresh water with lemon and cucumber available in the lobby as well. The location is fabulous as well-walkable to many restaurants and bars in Albany--everything was close by or a very short drive. There is also a bar open in the evening which looked nice, but I did not utilize it during my stay. Finally-the included breakfast was THE BEST COMPLEMENTARY HOTEL BREAKFAST I HAVE HAD IN THE US. The breakfast area is warm and welcoming with various types of seating. The options were endless...cold cereal, oatmeal with toppings, eggs, sausage, pancakes or French toast, fresh fruit, yogurt and more. All the food was fresh and was constantly being refilled while I was in the breakfast area. I wish I could eat more, because there were so many good options, oh and coffee and tea as well as fresh orange and apple juice. I would 100 times over, stay at this Hyatt Place if I am back in the Albany area--for the cost, which was very fair--it was more than worth it. Finally-the weekend front desk employee was so kind and engaging, we had a long chat about his life and how he began working at the hotel and all his other life adventures.

Jennifer, the front desk receptionist, did an excellent job during check-in. I arrived early, and she found a room for me right away. She was quick, friendly and efficient. She also automatically provided me and other Rewards members two water bottles. The rooms were renovated, spacious, and clean. Some TV channels like FOX News and ESPN were not working because of the current Direct TV/Disney dispute. Free breakfast is provided only to Residence Inn guests. Courtyard guests must pay a la carte at the restaurant The Bistro, which is located in the hotel lobby, but the food and drink are so expensive that most of my co-workers and I ate at the Starbucks less than a mile away. We went to The Bistro at night for drinks. All drinks were so strong that some of us got inebriated on only one drink. They were not watered down. I had the Cherry Old Fashioned, which the bartender said is the restaurant's most popular cocktail: Bourbon, Bourbon Cherries and muddled fruit. For $12, it was a bargain! There are two seating areas outside, each having a fire pit table. They were the highlight of our stay. We imbibed our cocktails and chatted there. Sitting by the fire was a pleasant way to unwind after a hard day's work. I highly recommend the Courtyard Albany Airport, for business or pleasure.
