I have been here twice, once to the old location right before it closed and once at the open house for the new location. There are so many cute products and books and gemstones and salt baths to choose from! I think that's why a friend recommended it to me. Both times I've been there I didn't end up buying everything I wanted to because the owner was so deep in conversation with everyone else who walked in about herself, the new space she wanted to manifest, how she manifested it, etc. I almost felt like I was interrupting her by wanting to buy something. The first time I had to wait until everyone else had left (including people who came in after me). I did manage to get some delish chocolate! It was definitely on the pricier side (I think I spent something like $12 on two chocolate bites) but it can be nice to splurge sometimes on fresh, raw chocolates with ethically sourced ingredients. The shop also had a small selection of loose herbs for tea (kind of like the ones at Southwest Herbal), which is pretty cool and getting harder and harder to find. I also wrote down a few product names and book titles to research. The new location is a lot smaller than the old one so the selection is smaller, but I like that it is an amazing building shared with other people doing healing work. I really enjoyed the open house there. I spent most of the time talking to people who share the building and they were all so genuine, which is so refreshing as people in this space can sometimes be quite self-absorbed. I even managed to snag some incense which the owner told a group of us was free and handed to everyone but me until I asked (even though I was the only person in the group who was about to buy something). I wanted to buy a specific flower mist during the open house but the owner was super busy talking to and helping all the other folks there (including one who she rang up before helping me even though she came in after me). Luckily the new location is super close to Lotus Wei, which has a larger selection of products and a friendly, attentive staff who was actually eager to help me, so I was able to get what I needed right after I left. I also found some great bath salts there and met a very sweet dog. I definitely try to shop consciously in stores where I can ask questions and get help, but I totally understand the impulse to only pay attention to certain people and ignore others. Getting a new space is certainly exciting and it's probably more interesting to discuss that with friends than it is to ring someone up. And I guess it's easy to take older customers for granted. That said, having to ask for freebies, being ignored, and even being asked if someone could cut in line certainly doesn't make me want to do business here. I read the owner response and I don't think the store being crowded and busy is a reason to ask someone if they mind if you ring up the person behind them first... and again, this is the second time I visited and I certainly didn't feel like I got the utmost personal attention in the larger location, even when I was the only person in the store. (As mentioned, I had to wait for people to leave to even be able to buy anything.) I do think this is a space to source ideas for gifts--even if I do end up picking them up somewhere else where people actually want to help me! (I honestly can't remember the last time I was made to feel like I was deemed unworthy to buy things.) The other practitioners seem really cool, which is great because it's a very nice building. Kaya is a great place to go for gifts, CBD products, and educational opportunities including making your own elderberry syrup. Cathleen, the owner, has such a wonderful selection of products. The whole store has lots of interesting options for gifts and education. I visit the store weekly for her CBD bath bombs and tasty chocolates and always see something new on each visit. Was passing through phoenix and needed some quality CBD. This shop is very cute, with a great selection of herbs and nice little gifts. I got CBD tablets, a CBD chocolate bar and a sample of CBN gummies. All of their gummies are vegetarian, which is great. I'm happy with the CBD products, they work very well. Nothing but great things to say about this store and owner!! I'm new to the CBD world and decided to visit Kaya Hemp after trying a CBD gummy and experiencing how much it helped my anxiety. After some initial research, I found out that I don't need a medical card to buy CBD products (when they're under a certain threshold of THC). I was worried that Kaya Hemp would largely have hemp products (when it's hemp oil it doesn't have the same effects as CBD, but many retailers try to position the product to make you think it does), just based off the name, but decided to give it a try anyways. I'm so glad I did!!! The owner was nothing but kind and helpful, taking the time to share her knowledge and answer my questions. She even has her own line of CBD Isoloate (she can explain what that is if you aren't sure!) made here in Phoenix, locally - plus some gummies that are broad spectrum (zero THC but still gives you the benefit of full spectrum CBD --- again, she can explain what that means!). I left feeling more knowledgeable and with a few products I'm really excited about, including a full spectrum CBD, the shop's gummies, and a CBD salve. Bonus points? The shop is clean, carries products that support hemp farmers, AND they have a pretty great loyalty program. Sign up for their emails to get notified about their sales!
