The single worst experience I've had with any business, ever. Had a 25th anniversary custom ring made for my wife. They have all their work done by someone in Florida---that was the first problem. I had to have them send it back to Florida THREE times, because it wasn't finished/wasn't acceptable. My saleswoman, Angela, who was so earnest during the sale, now was not even PRETENDING to care. Each return to Florida took a couple of weeks for it to come back, with NEVER any assurances from anyone that this will be taken care of......a clear indication that unprofessionalism is routine for them. I told her at one point that the ring was back in Florida for the third time, no one knows when I'll get it, and no one cares. She didn't refute that. Stay away. Next time I'm going with a local merchant that does their own work in-house. read more

The customer service was good. However, I will never return for ring service. On two separate occasions, I had major issues here. The first was with my engagement ring. The large stone on my ring was loose, and I brought it here to tighten. Nearly a month later, it was "readied". I collected it, only to touch the stone and have it spin freely in the setting. They sent it back out again for repair, got it back in about another month with a scuff on the prong. Didn't send it back out, and still had to pay $100. Second was just this month. I brought my two wedding bands in to be sized and fused. They were delayed over a week-twice-right before my wedding. Got them back in, and they had sized them to a size 5 instead of a 6 as discussed and stated on my paperwork. Needless to say, couldn't even get them halfway down my finger-wedding in less than a week. They offered to refund and resize to the correct size and have them back in by Friday. However, they also said they would be in over a week ago and they weren't. I brought them to another jewelry store and they were ready the same day. They not only repaired the scuff on my prong from Kay's for free, but they fixed the fuse setting that I didn't even know wasn't properly placed by Kay's. I would never recommend this store for any repairs, sizing, or maintenance. read more

I went here a while ago and never thought about writing a review. But here I am maybe a year later still thinking about the terrible experience I had here. I wanted to have a ring of mine cleaned and for whatever reason the girl behind the counter wouldn't do it. When I had handed it to her to look at she almost looked disgusted by my ring, and made me feel awkward and unwelcome. She didn't reccomend any products, or give me any advice. I simply walked across to Zales and the woman there helped me and was so friendly. They wouldn't clean it either but she had recommended this special solution that would help shine it up and it worked amazingly! My husband purchased a diamond heart shaped ring as a replacement for my engagement ring.( Stone had fallen out of original engagement ring.) He purchased lifetime guarantee in case stone fell out of new ring. Stone did fall out and when I went back to Kay's was told I hadn't had been in for last 6 months for inspection so tough. No replacement. But I could look at new rings as replacement. Sales woman showed no interest in what I was asking, frankly she looked bored .Ring was only 3 years old. Maybe if Kay Jewelers were more interested in QUALITY as opposed to mass production their settings would last. This is 3rd ring I have been given from Kay's and ALL 3 have lost stones. I had purchased my wedding band early February with Brianna who was pleasant to work with. In early March I received an email stating that my purchase was ready for pick up. My ring was promised to come in February 27th. Obviously that promise was not kept. I went in the day after I received the email to find a ring that was less than "ready" for pick up. It was clear there was black markings on the middle stones. I believe I was working with the assistant manager who is beyond unapproachable and unprofessional. When I asked why I was given this ring this way she replied saying whoever checked it didn't look it over properly. Now mind you she looked over the ring right in front of me before handing it to me for my approval. This ended in my ring being sent back and a new promise date of 3/20. An hour after I left the store I realized all my information on my receipt was wrong including my KT. I called the store immediately and asked to speak to the store manager, Amy. Amy was very apologetic but had a hard time reassuring me this would never happen again. I was mixed up with another client who had a similar last name to mine which is mind blowing because I had to hand over my I.D!!! Unbelievable. My ring was also typed in under this other Brianna as 10k but in reality I purchased 14k. Now Amy told me I was wrong since she was looking at the receipt that had all the wrong information rather then looking at my original. Finally, I was told I was correct. At this point I felt completely unsafe moving forward. How do I know this would never happen again? How did all of this even happen? I went in the next day for a refund and the women I worked with who entered everything wrong was there and did not come up to me once. It was clear I was not valued and her ego was too big. Absolutely disgusting that customers are treated this way. The saying holds true, you get what you pay for. This is my first and last time I will ever step into Kay's. read more

My daughter and I both have bought jewelry in this store at the Poughkeepsie Galleria. Amy, the store manager, has always been very professional, helpful, and nice every time we have gone in there. She has always addressed any concern we have had and has found us everything we were looking for! The store is beautiful and always has some sort of sale going on! read more

Customer service was OK at best. They were nice just very pushy. Ring I bought looks nice and was in great condition but had it appraised later on and was valued at less than what I paid. My jeweler said it's common from Kay jewelers that you get a mediocre diamond quality for too much money. Won't be back. read more

If this is the location in the Poughkeepsie galleria. My partner and I had a horrible experience. We went to this location to purchase engagement rings yesterday. Although it was the holiday time the store was not busy and a woman came over to "help us". She barely greeted us. She did the bare minimum of opening the cases, but she kept looking past us at other customers. Even with asking her to provide the size of my partners finger she seemed annoyed. She provided no information about the rings and seemed genuinely disinterested in helping us. She abruptly left us and told us to come back at a later time and she went to help someone else. We were there for less than 10 minutes. It was hands down the worst service ever. We were looking at items that were more than 4K each. She could have gotten a huge sale. Good thing there was a zales right across the way. It could have been that she was looking for her next commission or that she was homophobic, but we provided the impression that we wanted to purchase 2 engagement rings. My husband has been a loyal customer of Kay Jewelers for over a year. He has spent large amounts frequently for special occasions. I needed to have one of my diamond cluster rings fixed so we had it repaired there. When we went to pick it up I fell in love with a band worth $1641. The sales lady was selling us on the ring and mentioned that with the purchase of the ring we would get $400 Rewards Points which we could use on anything in the store. With Christmas coming it would come in handy. My husband purchased the ring the same day unbeknownst to me. On our anniversary he surprised me with the ring. Two days ago when we naively went into the store to use the rewards points we were told that we would have to spend an additional $1200 in order to use the $400!!! For every $300 spent $100 would be deducted! When we demanded an explanation the sales lady stormed off and asked another of her co-workers to explain to us how the Rewards program worked because we were expecting to get things for free! Yes, that is exactly what I expect if that is what YOUR sales lady told us to sell us the ring! They would not honor the rewards points and then they suggested that I should return the ring! I took the ring off and told them to take it back. After speaking to customer service we were told it was too late to return the ring and it was up to us if we wanted to use the points; we just had to spend an additional $1200! This is going all the way up to corporate, Kohl's has a rewards program worth investing in! Attaching a stipulation to spend additional money when we already spent so much to get those rewards is NO REWARD; it is misleading, it is a lie! read more
