Had a pleasant experience this past week at the Kays in Webster. I haven't been to a jeweler in the past so I was admittedly a little overwhelmed, and it was busy on a Saturday. The manager promptly met with me and offered some suggestions. I was looking to have a stone from an heirloom ring set into a new band, so I had to look at an online catalogue. She gave me good feedback and showed me some options that would best meet my individual preferences. I can't wait until the ring arrives and I can finally see it in person! I came here to get my jewelry inspected. They were nice about it and did it pretty quickly, but I was the only customer in there the whole time I was there, and it didn't seem like they'd been busy before I came. I'm not sure how they stay in business in this location, and the lighting wasn't very good. Jewelry stores usually have fantastic lighting! They also didn't clean my jewelry really well. I like when they use the scrubber thing and really get it clean. Hand lotion and whatever else gets built on the stuff you wear all the time. And as far as the review below saying Kay sent him a statement when he bought his girlfriend her engagement ring; well the same thing happened to us! My husband had gotten me a necklace there, so he made that the reason for the mailer, but really Kay, get with the program!!! You can't figure out that the statement should probably come in a unmarked envelope?? Not even just for engagement rings. Stated multiple times I did not want to open a credit card with them. When I came back to pick up and pay for the rings, the woman mislead me saying, "Let's just see what you'd get approved for." I was trying to be polite and went along with it - then said no thank you when she said how much credit I was approved for. I found out she straight up lied to me when I got the credit card in the mail days later. Called to get answers and was told the woman was on vacation, given attitude and no solutions or answers. Do not take the polite route when they bring up credit cards. Go elsewhere. read more

So I've been a customer for Kay jewelers for at least 3 years now and in the beginning I had great service and had NO complaints. Now my boyfriend buys me a diamond bracelet for Christmas and it broke 4 times since I also had a $1,800 ring and the center stone cracked .The last time I send the bracelet out I sent my ring out as well. GINA was nothing but rude to me she first accused me of being to hard on my jewelry and breaking it and on several occasions kept lying to me and telling me my bracelet wasn't back from repair when it had been back for over a week told me I would have to pay $400 to fix my center stone which also wasn't true and then even went out of her way to demand to know why I had an attitude every-time I went in there and I told her it simply because I didn't like her and how she handles customer service. You seriously could not find a worse jewelry store if you tried. They have unprofessional, inexperienced staff. They are unorganized. They don't communicate when things are delayed. They don't return your phone calls. Their computer system is awful. They are never able to find my warranty when I come in (every 6 months for the last 13 years). But my rings are protected with their warranty so I keep coming back. I had to fight last time to get them to cover a missing diamond (even though I have the diamond protection plan, they claimed I was out of my warranty by 30 days). I seriously have to mentally prepare myself for a dumpster fire every time I walk in this store. read more

Beyond Happy with the service with Kay's! Fiancé and I had difficulty with another jewelry store regarding my wedding band and Kay's fixed it, provided us with an alternative without any issues! They sat down with us on multiple occasions and answered all of our worrisome questions, because our wedding was less than a month away! Thank you Edwin!!!! For being there for us! While this is a beautiful store in a prime location (meaning it's situated in not too crowded of a plaza and easily accessible by highway), the customer service here is lacking in a few areas. Unfortunately, the only reason we stop in this store is because of convenience. I have no idea if these employees work on commission or receive bonuses for charge card sign-ups but the aggression over it is out of control. I literally dread going to get my jewelry inspected twice a year because it means that I'll have to spend 5-15 minutes in this store refusing various offers and arguing about why I do not want to sign up. I've tried calmly talking to them and refuting point by point, I've simply tried to say "no, thank you" and redirect the conversation--but nothing works. The last time we went in, an employee boasted about how this is the top store for card openings. I bit my tongue wondering if those bullied into opening accounts ever step foot back in that store. The only employee that does not do this is the older gentleman who is probably the store manager. He takes a classier approach by quietly inspecting and cleaning, asking me to come in more frequently to take advantage of their services. I'd love to, sir, if you were the only one working. read more
