It was a quiet Thursday afternoon and the cashier was able to meet with me right away to discuss my jewelry. She showed it to the jeweler, Mark, who was able to determine that the old clasp could be easily removed and replaced with a nearly identical clasp of the same sterling silver. He did the entire process in less than 5 minutes and the whole repair cost a very reasonable $10. This necklace has a great deal of sentimental value and I was thrilled to have it fixed with such speed and professionalism. I'll be sure to recommend Nulton to anyone who needs jewelry repaired. With that said, I saw 2 cars in the parking lots on a Monday night while leaving the mall and thought, sweet, I can just pop in, no lines, no waiting. As customary, I signed in at the podium and waited my turn. While waiting I noticed 5 women working behind the counters, but only 2 were with customers. I continued to wait.... and wait.... I watched as one lady decorated a small Christmas tree and 2 other women fiddled-around behind the counters. Finally, one of the customers leave..... and...... nothing........ I wait. THEN, Helen approaches me, she says, "Hello, is anyone helping you?" I said, "No". She said, "someone will be with you shortly." I said, "Thank you for acknowledging me." (I was pretty mad and I know it sounds snarky... but I meant what I said, "thanks for acknowledging me," as in, I am a person and a patron). Helen went into the back to file some paperwork etc...... Turns out.. I waited 10 minutes total, but it felt like FOREVER... Anyhow... Helen reappears and she is ready to wait on me. She was very nice and informative and super smiley. But overall, I was not satisfied with being ignored. Anyone of those 5 ladies could have looked up at any point and said a simple "Hello" when I walked in and signed my name on the list. SO, That's what I call super customer service !(please note sarcasm).

I had come in to receive a service, and he was huffing and puffing when he took a look at how much it was going to be and kept making comments about how it's going to be expensive with the amount of stones on my band. He offered me a discount, which I very much appreciated. I had thanked him and explained to him that my family had been coming to this place for years to which he responded, "yeah but you didn't buy the ring from us". There were some other comments made, but I didn't process what had happened to me in the store until I got into my car. After talking to my parents and friends, I realized this was not acceptable behavior. The other man that had walked up to me was very sweet, but my experience as a whole sucked.

I did not notice this initially due to only being concerned with the fit. While I was immediately invited back to fix it when I called to inform them that they scratched my ring and it was then buffed out - I am still confused and disappointed that they would cause damage and not notice what happened before they gave it back the first time. The ring has lost quite a bit of its white gold look due to having to be buffed and will have to be re-dipped already - and I've only had it for a few months. I hope they learned to pay closer attention to their work and unfortunately I will not be using their services again.

The owner of the competitor's store told me his scale had just been measured 2 moths earlier. So maybe it's just that The Jewelry & Coin Exchange's scale hadn't been calibrated in a while. And another competing store's scale weighed my items at 4.4 grams. So go to several places and ASK what your items weigh on their scales, get their price quote, then decide where you'll sell your items!
