Dr. Collins' Care Dr. Collins is an outstanding veterinarian--friendly, empathetic, thorough, and genuinely invested in my dog's health. She is also thoughtful and practical in her treatment approach. We've seen her twice. My senior dog first visited for an upset stomach, and given her cancer history, Dr. Collins ordered X-rays to rule out blockage or metastasis--both were negative. At our most recent visit, she warmly described my dog as a sweetheart and a great patient, reflecting her clear compassion for animals. I'm very grateful for her excellent care. Technicians and Receptionists Despite a stressful visit, I felt supported and understood. The technicians were extremely thorough, followed all hospital policies including consent before recording, took detailed notes, and asked thoughtful questions I might have missed. The reception staff were also patient and helpful, even when I came up multiple times with questions. When I requested an update, someone promptly checked on my dog. It's clear the entire team truly cares about animals, and the positive morale is evident. Overall, they deserve 5 out of 5 stars. The pricing is moderate, but compared to the well-known vet in Loomis we were going to, it's been almost half the price.

I took my dog to the Plaza Drive location in Rocklin earlier this week and unfortunately had a…read moredisappointing experience. The veterinary technician (an older woman with short hair and tattoos; I didn't catch her name) interrupted my explanation of my dog's bloody stool and assured me that the stool sample I brought in would provide all the necessary information. She told me that photos and additional details were unnecessary. The lab results later came back negative, but my dog continues to have blood in his stool, so it's possible that the additional information could have been helpful. The following morning, I was informed that the test results were negative. I explained that my dog was still experiencing the same symptoms and was told that the veterinarian, Dr. Stephen Harris, would call me shortly to discuss possible causes and next steps. That was yesterday, and I have yet to receive a call. The only communication I've received since then was an automated text message asking me to complete a survey and leave positive feedback about their services. I was also concerned about some of the charges on my bill. When I asked the Vet Tech about an "Ear Cleaning - Difficult" charge, despite my dog being muzzled and sedated during the procedure, the technician could not explain why it was applied. She ultimately changed it to a standard ear cleaning charge. The price difference wasn't significant, but it raised concerns about the accuracy of the billing. Overall, the lack of communication, dismissal of important information about my dog's condition, and questionable billing practices left me with a negative impression. I would recommend that anyone visiting this clinic carefully review their invoice and ask for explanations of any charges they don't understand. I don't even do yelp reviews except to help small businesses, but when they asked for a positive review after all that I decided to give them an honest one.

After completing the Puppy Training package (about 4 sessions) we continued on with the ecollar training package (an additional 4 sessions I believe) and she just graduated the other day! My puppy knows place, recall, perfectly walking on leash, all the important commands, and overall how to be an everywhere dog that we can take with us to bars, restaurants, parks & more. We are constantly told how well behaved our puppy is and it is simply because we brought her to Ashley early on and his training helped shape her into the perfect dog she is today. Our experience with Ashley and his team has been nothing short of extraordinary- we couldn't be more grateful for the transformation they brought us. For the past year and a half we have been dealing with an anxious/aggressive/fearful dog who brought so much stress and anxiety into our lives. Every time we left the house it was an ordeal. We couldn't go on a walk or anywhere without our dog making a scene with both people and dogs. We exhausted many many options including professional dog trainers and a highly ranked behavior program at the SFSPCA where our dog was put on a variety of medications that showed little progress. We got to the point where we were so frustrated and didn't know what else to do in order to help our dog and we came across Gold Hill Canine. After our first phone call with Ashley we knew that he could help us. After sending our dog to Gold Hills 3 week training rehab program - hudson "the golden doodle" came back an entirely different dog. My first dog was a puppy that grew to be amazing with her help. The second dog was an adult rescue who only needed a minor adjustment to be amazing. My current adult rescue, and third dog, is a train wreck. She's five years old and had never had formal obedience. I'm dealing with a 70 pound dog that jumps on people and furniture. She has leash aggression issues. She chases cats and is her own boss. Slowly but surely, Leah is helping me turn this dog around. Leah's understanding of dog behavior is amazing, and her ability to help humans help their dogs is stellar. And did I mention that she's affordable? I've been bringing my cat to Rocklin Pet Spa since 2023 and had consistently good experiences until…read morethe past year, when she's come home with two unexplained injuries. The first being bloody scabs on her face last July. I spoke with the owner, and while we couldn't agree on the cause, the scabs healed and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It felt like an isolated incident, and they seemed genuinely interested in making sure she was okay. The second incident happened more recently and is harder to set aside. After her appointment, her groomer pointed out a large patch of missing fur on her back. I was asked whether she'd had recent flea treatment or vaccinations, and the answer to both was no, with her last vaccines being eight months ago. I didn't want to jump to conclusions since I was looking at her while she was in her carrier, so I waited until I got home so I could properly assess how visible it was once she was up and moving about. I got home and confirmed that the patch was significant and clearly visible. I would've 1000% noticed something like this. I was with my cat the entire morning. She was sitting on my lap and I was petting her back just 30 minutes before her appointment; it would've been hard to not notice such a significant amount of fur missing as it would've been right in my face and I'm the type to notice if this cat has so much as a booger in her nose. I called back and spoke to her groomer who insisted they didn't remember anything happening during her appointment that could've caused this but they also said that they didn't notice the very noticeable missing fur until near the end of the appointment. I don't know what to make of that, but I am positive that my cat did not arrive this way. The saving grace is that my cat didn't seem to be in any pain and fur grows back (although I'm sure that spot on her back must have been really sore). This was an extremely upsetting experience as my cat is so sweet (even the groomer said she never gives them any trouble) and I only want her taken care of. Let me be clear: I don't believe anyone set out to harm her, but I can't overlook this careless incident and I just don't feel comfortable taking my cat here anymore unfortunately.
