The acai bowl place as poppin', I'll definitely have to come back and try it. They also sold juice shots from Kauai Juice Co and mason jars with overnight oats in all different flavors. We opted to get the PB and banana one, excited to give it a try. They sell tons of local products and meats. Unfortunately no local Kaua'i eggs sold here, go to Hoku market for that. They also sell Gina's banana bread for $8.50 near the register, they are huge portions and she doesn't skimp on the nuts, very tasty!! Next to the poke, they also have a food warmer stocked with to-go hot breakfast bentos as well as musubi. Wish I knew that earlier during my trip!

It's always the unassuming places that have the best stuff. I got the da dragon bowl this time and it was delicious, everything you want in an acai bowl. They can be short staffed sometimes so don't expect it to be ready right away. Service is super friendly and kind. It is inside a small grocery store so you can browse while you wait or sit at the tables they have nearby.

Wow. What a gem of a place we spontaneously stumbled into. We must have arrived at a great (and…read morelucky) time because there was only one person ahead of us, and we got our food relatively fast. We ordered the beer battered shrimp, garlic shrimp, and cajun shrimp, and all three exceeded expectations. For the price, I was genuinely shocked by the quantity given. I came in expecting to order more, but it was very plentiful and well-priced. My only feedback is that I wished the cajun shrimp had a bit more of a kick. The extra heat was there, but I found myself wanting just a little more. Medium spice would have probably been my sweet spot. No notes on the garlic shrimp though, as it delivered exactly as described. That garlic and olive oil combination? Yum. The beer battered shrimp, however, was surprisingly good. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It was simple, yet perfect. Think Long John Silver's fried shrimp, but better, done right, and insanely good. Here's a fun fact: we actually only ordered two plates the first time, loved it so much that we went back and ordered another. Yes, it was that good. As I'm typing this review back at home, I'm already salivating thinking about going back for another bite. Overall, this place was phenomenal and we'd return in a heartbeat. I'm aware it tends to get busy, and we definitely got lucky with our timing. Note: the food is great, but I personally wouldn't wait in a long line for it. That said, if there are only one or two people ahead of you, absolutely swing by. And beyond the food, the staff, from the cashier to everyone in the back, were a total delight and made the whole experience feel warm and homey.

Hawaii Costcos are the best! This location has everything you need for a week at the beach, from…read morethe bathing suit you forgot at home, sunscreen, boogie boards, and tasty treats and snacks for your stay, plus macadamia nuts to take home. The sushi is outstanding. The combination of salmon, ahi, and marlin is phenomenal, the fish is extremely fresh, and the rice is nicely seasoned. Skip the mayo heavy spicy tuna poke, though. Service is great, lines are efficient, prices are very reasonable. Gas is easy to get before you return your rental car. It's great all around!

So decided to go to Costco to see if their optical department could tighten my Costco glasses before heading back to the mainland. The optical department closes earlier than the store itself, so we ended up wandering around. We intentionally went there on the last day after our luggage had been packed, thinking it would prevent us from buying things to bring back. But there were two things that we don't see on the mainland, that were of good price: 1.5 Coffee beans from Molokai Estate Coffee (100% from Molokai, and which my wife confirmed later was very good) and a Ube cream Liquor from the Philippines, that went great with the said coffee. Both fit in our checked bags and made it home safe. It wasn't too crowded because it was close to closing and was of large size, including self checkout lanes. Another good visit to Costco.
