Dr. Szczepanski did not even recognize how ill he was the day prior to being hospitalized. My husband almost didn't survive due to his lack of care. Would never recommend him.

Very knowledgeable, sees everything going around so usually is "in the know" and is also soft spoken and a nice guy! He's usually able to quickly diagnose me when not feeling well - that's when and why I come here. In 2013 I came in with a mild sore throat I couldn't shake. Within 48 hours I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and seeing Radiation and Medical Oncologists. Later I learned many patients with my cancer are initially treated with antibiotics because of misdiagnosis. His proper diagnosis and speedy treatment arrangements may have saved me. Kudos to Dr. Friedman for that! Sometimes you can wait to see him longer than is appealing, but he's good and maybe that's why! For some reason I see more seniors here than any other age group but he does birth to death as far as I know. Hands down 1000% better than the new wave of walk-in clinics that feature higher co-pays and lots of nurses (APRN, RN, etc) but No M.D.'s!! Dr. Friedman's practice reminds me of the good old fashioned local family doctor that gets to know you and your family. I see HIM every time and also notice very little turnover in nurses and staff - another good sign.

I appreciated his willingness to be helpful. He told me to have an ultrasound. I had the ultrasound at another hospital, and the result was sent to his office. I called the office yesterday and asked about the result of the ultrasound. I was asking to speak with the doctor directly, but I was not able to. A receptionist over the phone stated she talked to the doctor, and the result was "indeterminate." I asked her to explain what that means. She stated, "It means we don't know what the heck is wrong with you." Then I asked what else the doctor found in the result. She stated there is nothing she can say. I was disappointed that she was not willing to help me speak with the doctor directly regarding my test results. I called the hospital today again about some concerns that I had. A receptionist became irritated, and stated "The doctor has nothing to talk to you about that." I asserted the importance of speaking with my doctor. She did not listen. She became more irritated and insisted that the doctor does not need to speak to me. She finally stated she would let the doctor know about my call. However, she was very unhelpful and unwilling to assist me. When I explained to her the importance of this matter, she simply hung up while I was still speaking. I felt mistreated and disrespected by her rude and unprofessional behavior. My hope is the doctor is informed about this inappropriate and unjust behavior of his receptionist(s) and he can take appropriate actions to rectify this. As a patient, I have a right to speak with my doctor.

My surgery went very well and the care I received at the surgery center was amazing. I went home the same day and was literally walking without any device just 4 days later. Of course there was the normal healing needed over a few weeks, but overall, even I was shocked how quickly I was up and about. They are so good about checking in, providing step by step instructions, both before and after, so I never felt lost or confused. I am finally walking without pain for the first time in a very long time. From start to finish, I was extremely satisfied. Highly recommend.

They exhaust all non invasive treatments before suggesting surgery - they truly want what's best for the patient. Even better is the fact most of the less invasive options (ablation, injections, etc) are done right in office, allowing for continuity of care and more expediency. I was a very anxious patient leading up to my surgery and my multiple repeated questions were answered with care and compassion. I had multiple visits with the surgeon (Dr. Eisler) before settling on surgery and feeling truly comfortable because of a less than optimal previous spine surgery (different dr). He was an active listener and participant in my care the entire time. He reassured me he would meet with as many times as necessary to make sure I felt comfortable and educated on my condition and needed surgery. I'm happy to say the majority of my pain is gone post surgery (4 months) and I have my life back. I can't thank Dr, Eisler and his team enough. When I was finally contacted, I was informed that the referral had been denied because the testing was considered not medically necessary. While I understand that not every referral will be accepted, my biggest concern was communication. It was extremely difficult to get in contact with anyone by phone, and I spent a significant amount of time trying to reach the office for updates. The long wait times and lack of communication added unnecessary stress during an already difficult process. If you are considering this practice, be aware that you may experience delays in receiving updates and may have difficulty reaching staff by phone.
