I made the mistake of believing that Avas Flowers was local. When I read reviews, I cancelled my order (which took 30 minutes and multiple calls. ) Once cancelled, I called Katydid. It was a bit after their same day delivery cutoff time, but they were more than gracious! I ordered the 'pick of the day'. Absolutely lovely and delivered to my sister that afternoon. read more

Received an amazing and well thought out arrangement for our first born! Love it so much!!

We have ordered from Katydid Flowers before and they have always done a great job. So, it was only natural that I would contact them about creating an arrangement for my daughter who just had a baby boy. I found an idea on Pinterest, ordered the "container" and brought it into them. I told them my vision and they hit it out of the park! Thank you so much Katy and Katydid Flowers! Always easy to work with and so creative! The new parents loved them! Linda Johnson read more

I can't thank Katydid Flowers enough for the absolutely beautiful centerpieces they prepared for my daughter-in-law's baby shower. Always beautiful arrangements! Never disappoints! I'm in Florida sending arrangements to family Hopedale, etc. They all call me and say the arrangements are gorgeous! My go to for flowers. Hands down the best florist in the area! read more

I haven't seen a picture of the flowers yet, I hope they are amazing. My only complaint is that I ordered the flowers on Saturday before noon and paid $15 dollars shipping (for the 20 minute long distance drive) to Douglas. The flowers were not delivered on Saturday, nor Sunday. I was busy at work and forgot to call when I received a call Monday morning from Katydid Flowers. They were requesting the recipient's phone number because it was hot out (thank you!) but also scolding me that I didn't purchase $50 and they normally wouldn't have delivered the flowers but they are going on vacation this Friday so they will. Not sure what their vacation has to do with my flower delivery but like I said "hope they are amazing". If they wanted the additional $4 to have my order equal $50 and qualify for $15 shipping to Douglas I would have paid it when I placed the order. read more

Katydid is amazing. I honestly do not understand the reviews on here. My husband and daughter get all my flowers from them and are consistently gorgeous and great quality. Give her any budget and she will make it look well above the price you asked her for. My niece recently got herself in a pinch with her wedding bouquet flowers. I called them asking for a miracle and she whipped them together in hours. I can't express the gratitude we all had for your kind heart in making her day so beautiful and special. If you are looking anywhere else you are crazy! Thank you again for always making every Occasion gorgeous! read more

At 7:45pm the evening before my sister-in-law's funeral, we received a call from the terrible florist who had the order to provide flowers. We called the Buma Funeral Home after hours and left a message. Jim Buma, the owner responded within minutes and suggested we contact Katydid Flowers in Mendon. We sent an email to Katy at 1AM the next morning and Katy called us at 9AM, reassuring us that she would have the arrangement to the funeral in time for the 10AM calling hour. She made that happen and we were thrilled with the beautiful arrangement and her outstanding service. read more

I ordered flowers for my prom 3 weeks in advance ( which wasn't the problem). I ordered them online and the transaction went through, I got an email receipt saying it would be delivered. So the day of prom right as about to step in to my hair/makeup appointment I get a call saying they don't deliver anymore and I have to pick them up myself. Keep in mind this is 2 pm and I'm in Worcester, it's raining, and I have to be ready by 5. Why couldn't I have been told before a few hours before the event. Anyways, I was told I would get my money back for the shipping. I was fine with that. But then a week later when I check my bank account they charged me. So I called and was argued saying I never picked them up. Like are you serious? I had my flowers. I can show you the pictures proving is was form you. After this awful experience I will never come here again. I will tell everyone I ever meet that is looking for a florist to never come here because they will screw you over. read more

Katydid Flowers was the florist for our wedding located at the Grand View in Mendon, MA and they was more than amazing and beyond accommodating. My husband and I had a hiccup in our wedding plans - long story short, Hurricane Irma destroyed our U.S.V.I wedding venue 6 weeks before our wedding, leaving us little time to re-plan. Finding Katydid Flowers and booking them on such short notice was truly a blessing. Katydid Flowers is professional, punctual, organized, easy to work with and as mentioned above, extremely accommodating. We gave them no real direction, aside from some Pinterest pictures and they completely nailed our wedding inspiration - from the centerpieces to the headpiece our flower girl wore (and loved), everything was perfect! Katydid Flowers provided the bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, flower girl headpiece, flower girl basket & flowers, centerpieces and two large flower pots for our ceremony. I also had some pendants added to my bouquet (last minute) and there was no fuss about it, they worked with us and everything turned out beautifully. If you're on the fence about what florist to pick and someone who is professional, accommodating and willing to bring your wedding vision to life, Katydid Flowers is your spot! read more

Katydid Flowers was referred to me by my wedding coordinator at Grandview Mendon. My mom and I went in to look at the place and we were approached by Kim. I was skeptical about flowers because I'm not someone who particularly "loves" flowers so I just wanted simple. Kim asked me about how many people in wedding party, colors, what my vision for the flowers was. I let her know I liked white roses and my dress was sparkly! She over delivered! She was 1 of 2 vendors that didn't screw up anything on the day of my wedding! She arrived when she said and was very professional! She made sure everything was there! My flowers were so beautiful from the centerpieces to my bouquet and my girls! My Bouquet had a dusting of glitter! It was awesome! I also got a complimentary throw bouquet which was nice as well! I will be sure to recommend Katydid Flowers to my friends who get married in the future! Thank you so much! read more

Beautiful new store, with a great selection of flowers. I asked for a $50 fresh cut bouquet with lots of purple for my girlfriend, and I don't know the name of the flowers but she loved them, especially the purple roses. And on my end, the bouquet was about twice as big as what I have been getting from the place down the road for the same price. Great selection and service! Will definitely be going back. read more

Im getting married in September and wanted to find the best local florist in town. I found Katydid to be the closest to our venue.. So I set up the meeting with her, and everything seemed to be going smoothly... She said she was super busy that weekend and would email me first thing on Monday morning with a quote and said "Look it over and once you have a heart attack, give me a call".. I was a bit confused by her "Im going to hit you hard with a price and then we can talk it over if you dont like it" attitude. So, on Monday morning, I get a quote for over 1400. Ok, I get your a florist, flowers are expensive, whatever. But Im not in no way, no how, spending 1400 on flowers FOR ONE GD DAY. So, I called her, like she told me to, and said "Look, your price was fair, but way out of our budget, can we talk about maybe keeping around or under 1000??".. Her attitude changed completely from her friendly "Thank you for calling Katydid.." and her reminder again about how busy they are... To a "Ill email you" with a hang up of the phone. And guess what? She never emailed me back... this was over three weeks ago. So, I took my business elsewhere. The only reason I would even consider giving Katydid two stars is because she really does do nice work. But not for 1400.. Flowers for 5 hours that are just going to die.. My dress didnt even cost that much! read more

Katydid has the freshest flowers I have ever purchased. The shop is nicely decorated with gift items and arrangements ready for a last minute gift. The arrangements are unique and full of premium flowers for a very reasonable price . Both owners are friendly and very talented designers.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them . I have also attended their flower workshops and had a wonderful experience every time . So glad the little town of Mendon has such a wonderful talented female owned flower shop for all to enjoy! read more

I appreciate the response albeit six months later and I completely understand the massive stress of the abundance dance of orders. I run my own small business and we do the majority of our sales within a two week period in spring. I understand that you couldn't help me at the time. I don't understand why I was rudely told off instead of being politely turned down. I hate to say it but I feel I was treated that way because I'm a teenager who hadn't "planned ahead and ordered in advance" and for that I didn't deserve the respect that an adult may have gotten. read more

There are a lot of things to stress about as a bride. I can honestly say that you will never have to worry or stress about your flowers if you use Katydid. Kim and Katie are like your best girlfriends-the ones you know you can count on to be there for you. I never worried that I would receive anything less than perfection with my wedding flowers, just I have never received anything less than amazing with any flowers I have ever ordered from them. You get professionalism, experience, and gorgeous flowers be it for a wedding, funeral, mother's day or any other occasion. Thanks again for being a part of our special day! Katydid Flowers created martini glass centerpieces for my daughter's Bridal Shower. The centerpieces were perfection in every way!! I will not argue about the quality of the flowers. The arrangements are beautiful. But when it comes to customer service it depends on who you get. When I had the displeasure of dealing with Kim I found her to be rude and very unaccommodating. I made an inquiry about having an arrangement made and her response was that we don't do that here and even if we did we're way too busy. Apparently a weeks notice isn't sufficient. The other owner of the shop is extremely pleasant and a pleasure to deal with. read more

TOP NOTCH!!!! Absolutely gorgeous flowers for my daughters wedding!!! The bouquets were stunning and complimented the bridal party's dresses beautifully. They incorporated some of my daughter's crystal belt from her gown in the bouquet, as well as her grandmother's lace, linen handerchief! Our photographer has already sent a sneak peak of pictures and the flowers are popping in all of the pictures! We wanted low centerpieces so guests could see each other at their table and they delivered! Absolutely perfect . Beautiful colors to match the theme of the wedding. My guests kept asking" Who did the flowers?" But the personalized attention you gave us and the attention to detail, in my eyes goes above and beyond. The men's stems wrapped in sheer fabric that stood out on their tuxes and kept with the color scheme (very sharp looking!) , going to the church and personally putting on every boutonniere ( even walking to front of church to put on the brides grandfather's), finding every women who was to have a flower bracelet and putting it on them, even holding the doors of the church for the bride and bridal party to enter. You made sure everything was the way it should be. People have been calling me, stopping me in the grocery store, and texting to tell me what a fabulous wedding it was and you, Katydid, had a huge part in it!! Thank you for helping my husband and I give Lauren the weddding she wanted and the wedding we had hoped to give her. You are the BEST!!! Judy Innis read more

I have used Katydid in the past and I know that they do beautiful work, so it was only fitting that they created my wedding flowers. From the initial appointment, up until the day of the wedding, Kate and Kim were incredibly helpful, and helped to calm my nerves. The flowers: What can I say about the flowers, except that they were phenomenal! My bouquet was stunning, as were my bridesmaids, and the mother of the bride/grooms as well. Kate delivered flowers to my parents house, the venue, and the church, and made sure that the groomsmen, fathers' of the bride/groom all had their boutonnieres on correctly. This flower shop is fantastic to work with, they do beautiful work, and I highly recommend them to anyone who is planning a wedding or needs a beautiful bouquet of flowers! read more

Any time I need flowers I go to Katydid and also recommend them to friends and family. I've hired them for my own wedding, graduation parties, anniversary parties and they've done several friend's weddings also. I loved my wedding flowers so much that I preserved my bouquet (also done by Katydid) and it is by far my favorite keepsake from my wedding. It's absolutely beautiful, the colors are still bright and I get compliments on it all the time. In addition to the bouquet they also did centerpieces, boutonnieres and an arch piece which was stunning. They also did the flowers for my brother's wedding down the Cape and those too were beautiful! Kim and Kate have proven time and time again that they will go above and beyond for their clients. They're creative and very helpful and I trust them so much that I now give them free reign on any floral designs I may need. read more

I received the most beautiful, contemporary bouquet of flowers for my birthday. They were so fresh and lasted longer than any other arrangement I had received. During prom season last year, we decided to go with a Milford Florist. (I was so disappointed when my son brought them home.) As our kids were getting ready to head out to prom, I spotted the most spectacular wrist corsages and boutonniere's. I was told they were from Katydid Florist. You can bet that was the last order from the Milford Florist. They have made several arrangements for me over the past few months and without exception, they have been amazing! I would recommend wholeheartedly! read more

I can't believe the high ratings for Katydid on weddingwire. My experience was the complete opposite. Let me start by saying I did not use Katydid for my wedding flowers. I met with Katydid for a consultation and chose not to move forward with them so this review is based on my experience with the consultation and follow up. Our wedding is in Boston, however I wanted to go with a local vendor because I enjoy supporting local businesses. I set-up a consultation and met with Kim - I came very prepared with a powerpoint presentation outlining exactly what I wanted for flowers. It was very straight forward (hydrangeas and roses in white, ivory and blush). I felt Kim did not get my vision, which is okay - but that was not where I was the most disappointed...She was very unprofessional with my mother and I - making comments throughout our discussions that I deemed inappropriate. We left feeling less than confident in Katydid as our flower vendor but decided let's wait and see what the estimate and details look like - Kim promised a written estimate sent to my home within 1 week. 2 1/2 weeks passed and I had still not heard from Katydid nor had I received the estimate - I decided to let it slide because it was around the holidays. I followed up with the shop and spoke with someone else and there was not even a record of my consultation. Eventually my estimate was emailed to me with some lengthy explanation on why it was forgotten. The estimate details outlined the exact opposite of what Kim and I discussed - inclusion of flowers and greens that I strictly said I did not want. How could I trust this business with one of the most important days of our lives if they can't remember to follow up with a potential customer. When I communicated that I wouldn't be moving forward and the reasons why, Kim did not argue and said best of luck. Three months later I receive an email from the shop saying they haven't heard from me and if I will be using them for my wedding! Wow - is this a joke? They really need someone managing the weddings that is more organized. I would obviously not recommend Katydid. I am sure their work is beautiful, but the frustrations of the experience are not worth it!! I ended up going with Studio 123 who was a breeze to work with, their prices were competitive and they actually appreciated that I knew what I wanted for my flowers - they were simply going to execute my vision!! read more
