I haven't seen a picture of the flowers yet, I hope they are amazing. My only complaint is that I ordered the flowers on Saturday before noon and paid $15 dollars shipping (for the 20 minute long distance drive) to Douglas. The flowers were not delivered on Saturday, nor Sunday. I was busy at work and forgot to call when I received a call Monday morning from Katydid Flowers. They were requesting the recipient's phone number because it was hot out (thank you!) but also scolding me that I didn't purchase $50 and they normally wouldn't have delivered the flowers but they are going on vacation this Friday so they will. Not sure what their vacation has to do with my flower delivery but like I said "hope they are amazing". If they wanted the additional $4 to have my order equal $50 and qualify for $15 shipping to Douglas I would have paid it when I placed the order. read more

Give her any budget and she will make it look well above the price you asked her for. My niece recently got herself in a pinch with her wedding bouquet flowers. At 7:45pm the evening before my sister-in-law's funeral, we received a call from the terrible florist who had the order to provide flowers. I ordered flowers for my prom 3 weeks in advance ( which wasn't the problem). I ordered them online and the transaction went through, I got an email receipt saying it would be delivered. So the day of prom right as about to step in to my hair/makeup appointment I get a call saying they don't deliver anymore and I have to pick them up myself. Keep in mind this is 2 pm and I'm in Worcester, it's raining, and I have to be ready by 5. Why couldn't I have been told before a few hours before the event. Anyways, I was told I would get my money back for the shipping. I was fine with that. But then a week later when I check my bank account they charged me. So I called and was argued saying I never picked them up. Like are you serious? I had my flowers. I can show you the pictures proving is was form you. My husband and I had a hiccup in our wedding plans - long story short, Hurricane Irma destroyed our U.S.V.I wedding venue 6 weeks before our wedding, leaving us little time to re-plan. Finding Katydid Flowers and booking them on such short notice was truly a blessing. Katydid Flowers is professional, punctual, organized, easy to work with and as mentioned above, extremely accommodating. We gave them no real direction, aside from some Pinterest pictures and they completely nailed our wedding inspiration - from the centerpieces to the headpiece our flower girl wore (and loved), everything was perfect! I appreciate the response albeit six months later and I completely understand the massive stress of the abundance dance of orders. I don't understand why I was rudely told off instead of being politely turned down. I asked for a $50 fresh cut bouquet with lots of purple for my girlfriend, and I don't know the name of the flowers but she loved them, especially the purple roses. Im getting married in September and wanted to find the best local florist in town. I found Katydid to be the closest to our venue.. So I set up the meeting with her, and everything seemed to be going smoothly... She said she was super busy that weekend and would email me first thing on Monday morning with a quote and said "Look it over and once you have a heart attack, give me a call".. I was a bit confused by her "Im going to hit you hard with a price and then we can talk it over if you dont like it" attitude. So, on Monday morning, I get a quote for over 1400. Ok, I get your a florist, flowers are expensive, whatever. But Im not in no way, no how, spending 1400 on flowers FOR ONE GD DAY. So, I called her, like she told me to, and said "Look, your price was fair, but way out of our budget, can we talk about maybe keeping around or under 1000??".. Her attitude changed completely from her friendly "Thank you for calling Katydid.." and her reminder again about how busy they are... To a "Ill email you" with a hang up of the phone. And guess what? She never emailed me back... this was over three weeks ago. So, I took my business elsewhere. The only reason I would even consider giving Katydid two stars is because she really does do nice work. The shop is nicely decorated with gift items and arrangements ready for a last minute gift.The arrangements are unique and full of premium flowers for a very reasonable price . I will not argue about the quality of the flowers. The arrangements are beautiful. But when it comes to customer service it depends on who you get. When I had the displeasure of dealing with Kim I found her to be rude and very unaccommodating. I made an inquiry about having an arrangement made and her response was that we don't do that here and even if we did we're way too busy. Apparently a weeks notice isn't sufficient. The bouquets were stunning and complimented the bridal party's dresses beautifully.They incorporated some of my daughter's crystal belt from her gown in the bouquet, as well as her grandmother's lace, linen handerchief! Our photographer has already sent a sneak peak of pictures and the flowers are popping in all of the pictures! We wanted low centerpieces so guests could see each other at their table and they delivered! Absolutely perfect . Beautiful colors to match the theme of the wedding. My guests kept asking" Who did the flowers?" But the personalized attention you gave us and the attention to detail, in my eyes goes above and beyond. The men's stems wrapped in sheer fabric that stood out on their tuxes and kept with the color scheme (very sharp looking!) , going to the church and personally putting on every boutonniere ( even walking to front of church to put on the brides grandfather's), finding every women who was to have a flower bracelet and putting it on them, even holding the doors of the church for the bride and bridal party to enter. You made sure everything was the way it should be. From the initial appointment, up until the day of the wedding, Kate and Kim were incredibly helpful, and helped to calm my nerves. The flowers: What can I say about the flowers, except that they were phenomenal! My bouquet was stunning, as were my bridesmaids, and the mother of the bride/grooms as well. Kate delivered flowers to my parents house, the venue, and the church, and made sure that the groomsmen, fathers' of the bride/groom all had their boutonnieres on correctly. Any time I need flowers I go to Katydid and also recommend them to friends and family. I've hired them for my own wedding, graduation parties, anniversary parties and they've done several friend's weddings also. I loved my wedding flowers so much that I preserved my bouquet (also done by Katydid) and it is by far my favorite keepsake from my wedding. It's absolutely beautiful, the colors are still bright and I get compliments on it all the time. In addition to the bouquet they also did centerpieces, boutonnieres and an arch piece which was stunning. During prom season last year, we decided to go with a Milford Florist. (I was so disappointed when my son brought them home.) I can't believe the high ratings for Katydid on weddingwire. My experience was the complete opposite. Let me start by saying I did not use Katydid for my wedding flowers. I met with Katydid for a consultation and chose not to move forward with them so this review is based on my experience with the consultation and follow up. Our wedding is in Boston, however I wanted to go with a local vendor because I enjoy supporting local businesses. I set-up a consultation and met with Kim - I came very prepared with a powerpoint presentation outlining exactly what I wanted for flowers. It was very straight forward (hydrangeas and roses in white, ivory and blush). I felt Kim did not get my vision, which is okay - but that was not where I was the most disappointed...She was very unprofessional with my mother and I - making comments throughout our discussions that I deemed inappropriate. We left feeling less than confident in Katydid as our flower vendor but decided let's wait and see what the estimate and details look like - Kim promised a written estimate sent to my home within 1 week. 2 1/2 weeks passed and I had still not heard from Katydid nor had I received the estimate - I decided to let it slide because it was around the holidays. I followed up with the shop and spoke with someone else and there was not even a record of my consultation. Eventually my estimate was emailed to me with some lengthy explanation on why it was forgotten. The estimate details outlined the exact opposite of what Kim and I discussed - inclusion of flowers and greens that I strictly said I did not want. How could I trust this business with one of the most important days of our lives if they can't remember to follow up with a potential customer. When I communicated that I wouldn't be moving forward and the reasons why, Kim did not argue and said best of luck. Three months later I receive an email from the shop saying they haven't heard from me and if I will be using them for my wedding! Wow - is this a joke? They really need someone managing the weddings that is more organized. I would obviously not recommend Katydid. I am sure their work is beautiful, but the frustrations of the experience are not worth it!! I ended up going with Studio 123 who was a breeze to work with, their prices were competitive and they actually appreciated that I knew what I wanted for my flowers - they were simply going to execute my vision!! read more
