Just wanted to share that my brother and his family have gotten the absolute best treatment from Katy Funeral Home . With the passing of my nephew, this was a very difficult task as parents to navigate to make his final arrangements . My sisters started a GoFundMe for them because they just buried my sister-in-law's mother a little over a month ago so their funds were very low if not depleted . For the past five days, they went to so many funeral home to try to find the best they could get with what we've raised for them, but the treatment and the ill mannered from many of those other funeral homes was totally unprofessional and so wrong especially with what my brother and sister in law have had to endure. Ashlyn was the most caring, warm, patient, welcoming and so understanding of their needs and answered all of their questions that they decided to use Katy funeral home. We had occasion to us this facility in 2016, when we had to make arrangements for our son, who was 23. The staff were helpful, answered all the questions, dealt with the changes we made and were rock stars when it came to the overflow of the people who came to the service. We never would have imagined. My only regret was not writing this review sooner. we will always recommend this place. read more

Customer Service is very poor. Had been calling the funeral home during the process and there had been inconsistent information from staff members, they do not communicate to each other. On the plan we purchased there should be flowers and a souvenir pendant included but there was no flower given and the pendant is until now unavailable, its been 4 months now. There was an error on the death certificate and of course the amendment hasn't been released yet. read more

Marci Ramirez is the worst funeral director in Katy Funeral Homes. Marci Ramirez should be fired. Kenny Gattis, the location manager should be fired as well. He doesn't know how to manage his own staff and this location. Kenny Gattis seems to be incompetent. The staff doesn't communicate with each other. The staff do not even know how to use meeting software like Teams or Zoom for family members who would like to join and discuss the arrangements. The death certificate were all wrong and we were FORCED to pay extra money. I was the one who called the Medical Examiner's office. Katy Funeral Service should be providing this service for the family. The invites and thank you cards had all the wrong information. The last name was printed wrong. They don't care because the person is dead anyway. What an awful service. THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY. Katy Funeral Service needs to be reported to the Texas Funeral Service Commission to improve on their services. read more

Terrible funeral service. AVOID AT ALL COST. -They detest religion and traditions only funeral home that doesn't allow religious candles. Halted a religious ceremony. And kicked out the people -Staff is unprofessional and lack empathy made a funeral about themselves. The personal lied about the guest. Complaint to the daughter grieving a loss of a mother and expected the grieving daughter to apologize to them. Staff started crying about a ficticios situation. DO NOT RECOMMEND DO NOT CONSIDER AT ALL -They advertise on the memorial video, Mind you they charge for making the video and still take the liberty to advertise THEIR SPONSORS. -Failed to provide police escort lost more than half of the convoy. -They took the shade structure off before the end of our paid time period. Our experience with Kyle at Katy Funeral Home was well below par. He was rude and disrespectful. Kyle did not return calls or emails as he stated he would. Katy Funeral Home and Forest Park Southwest Cemetery, the people working for Dignity, in my opinion have no compassion or empathy! After dealing with Katy Funeral Home and in my opinion, the cold heartedness of (Sherry Ahart Davies) I thought working with (A.C. Cedillo) would have been a wonderful experience. I have been trying to order a headstone for a grave since December 2022. A.C. Cedillo does not return phones calls and makes excuses. When my husbands youngest brother passed away so tragically the family as a whole was completely heartbroken but here at Katy funeral home they do all they can to help families remember their loved ones with all the right purpose and so heartfelt and genuine. I highly recommend this location for any funeral needs. They were the most efficient, kind, and supportive group of people during this sad time. They were also extremely reasonable. Do not ever go here. My father passed away and we made an appointment to go see the facilities and talk to someone. The man at the front desk had no idea why we were there, snickered a little that we were there and then asked if we were in the right place. He then looked at a piece of paper and saw my name listed. But I guess it was more convenient to belittle me than look up the appointment list. We looked around a bit and it was so impersonal, tacky and scummy of a facility. We asked the same man if they had any booklets while we waited for the person we set the appointment with and he once again looked confused and snickered a bit. He then asked "Was there a death or not?" That was it for us, we said never mind and started to leave. He asked if we wanted the booklet and then pulled one out of the drawer next to him. Again, such a major inconvenience for him, I know. Screw this place. Your loved ones deserve better. read more

I wish 0 was an option. Imagine you lost your child, you make arrangements, have family in for their service at 10am, everyone shows up at 930am they are told that $36,000 is needed or there will be no funeral because there is a hold on the insurance policy for 120 days. Out right embarrassing. And they have the manually process every card before opening the door. Her kids just standings there crying .As if you are not already grieving. Shouldn't everything have been cleared before that day? Like before arrangements are set? This was a heartbreaking and overpriced experience!!!! I've buried a mom, dad, and a fiancé and I don't understand how a basic funeral home funeral, without a family car, clergy car, no music, no hair/makeup service, and a biography so small you need a magnifying glass to read even comes to that amount. I definitely DO NOT recommend this funeral home for anyone's loved one. You had to have been there! read more

I had a great experience with Blake Hightower at Katy Funeral Home. Although we had plots at another cemetery we preferred the Katy location and Blake made it happen. I appreciate the extra effort he took with us in make our selections. And helping download the photos for our amazing video. They offered all with compassion and understanding. This funeral home and all of the staff that assisted me in making my husband's final arrangement exceeded my expectations in light of the occasion. Blake Hightower was patient, helpful, and always answered the phone to answer any questions, including on Sunday. The arrangements were fairly priced, as scheduled, and resulted in all as discussed and planned on the final day. Additionally, the memorial video and music were a moving memorial to a life that was well-photographed. Over 250 photographs were scanned, and produced in a final memorial presentation which added a special touch of happiness to a solemn occasion. Gratefully, to all who helped make this experience comfortable in light of the circumstances, but especially Blake which had to switch from preplanning to at need from one day to another. To the negative review, I disagree with your editorial. However, while emotions run high, they cannot be on panic mode while making arrangements. Without all of the questions, one can end up making arrangements for the wrong person. Dead or alive, we all must be identified somehow. My condolences to you for your loss. read more

When my husband passed away I chose Katy Funeral home. The funeral home director told me that they have an insurance processing company they use that will process the insurance claim and everything will be fine (and of course there was a fee to utilize that service). So we proceeded with making arrangements. Two days later I get a call from the funeral director telling me that my insurance company denied the claim saying it was because the policy was less than two years old. When I asked him what my choices were he told me I have the option to pay with cash or check! Credit cards are not accepted. WTH?! I immediately called my insurance company and they NEVER said that. In fact the claim was approved! Yet they kept that nice insurance processing fee. So basically the memorial service was on hold until they received their money. Fortunately I have wonderful family members who helped me out. NO ONE should have to go through this BS during these times! The only reason they have a single star is because the facility was beautiful. However, if you want to utilize the kitchen during the services don't bother trying to bring food. They will give you a line of "to protect their interests" you can use their catering company that will charge you ridiculous amounts of money for Sams Club food. Later on (about two weeks later) when I inquired about whether my husbands death certificate had been sent in to the state I was told by the same guy that it was. Yet when I drove to the county courthouse to pick it up he electronically sent it THAT MORNING. When they sent me a "how'd we do" survey I spoke my mind. I wasn't going to but folks need to be made aware of their deception! That same day the funeral director tried calling me twice to discuss my review. And now I'm getting emails from other chick. I'm not changing my mind and the phone calls better stop! read more
