Not to be confused with the catty freeway, upon which all the drivers seem to get particularly…read morecatty with each other, and really pissy and what not. But that could be said about this one too, a lot of the time. This is the highway that goes from downtown Houston all the way out to Katy. After it passes Katy, it just becomes Interstate 10, crossing the wilderness and the nothingness to San Antonio, and then even more wilderness to El Paso. You're less in luck if you're heading east out of downtown instead of on the Katy Freeway, as you will see some of the most horrific industry and polluting factories and fiery petrochemical plants, throughout both Texas and Louisiana along Interstate 10. But the Katy Freeway section is quite nice. New, clean, wide, paved well... except for one scary ass thing: The surface gets really nasty when it's wet, which is a big problem, but the rest of the time it's working well. As in, they've made it wide enough and safe enough that it feels a lot more relaxing to drive now - even in traffic - than the vast majority of the highways in the Houston area, and in major cities in Texas, especially the ones that haven't yet been widened and feel like death traps, such as 45 North and especially 69 or perhaps 45 South, until you get out into the suburbs. Bae tells me it took a long time to make it so, though. A long time. Like Boston Big Dig long time. Like, according to the goddess herself, 15 years or so. I'm glad I wasn't here then doe. Now if they can just make their surface less slippery in rain, they will get my reclusive, seducive, elusive five star.

This review is for Hwy 99 ONLY…read more This Freeway is a convenient way to travel to wherever your destination may be. Although you will pay tolls, you can get to where you need to go a lot faster than fighting the rush hour traffic in the major thorofares. However if you choose to take this freeway often, the tolls can add up pretty quickly.

They have all kinds of things going on there including Court, marriages, vehicle title and registration. I was there to transfer title and register my vehicle. There were people in line inside the front of the building only to find out the real line was wrapping around the building outside. That started a big argument over which group was actually there first. There should have been someone to manage this. After waiting in the line for about 2 hours I finally got inside and was able to sit down. I thought I was going to pass out. When my number finally was called, the nicest man, James, helped me. He had a sign at his window saying he was a new employee in training. He made my experience seamless and even allowed me to make a call and have a document emailed over. He made my experience great because I got what I need accomplished. I really appreciate him for his kindness, patience, and assistance.

I really am a big fan, maybe the biggest fan of libraries. As I type this, I believe that it is…read moretime to renew my card. I hope I get a nicely designed-card this time. There are so very many perks to having a library card and I want everyone to have one. I love books, reading, writing, learning, words, and all of that so it is obvious that I am biased. However, on the flip side of that accessibility is really important to me in all facets of life. Speaking of accessibility, when I think of books I think of accessibility. We deserve knowledge and information that is free. Don't get me started yall, too bad I have already started. Libraries give us access to knowledge, education, and community and to me that is freedom. "HAVIN FUN AINT HARD WHEN YOU HAVE A LIBRARY CARD" is a remixed version of that saying, and I am not yelling with the caps, I am passionate. Having a library card, in my opinion, is top-tier. Elite, if you will. I frequent this particular library in Cinco Ranch due to the proximity, helpful staff, and resources available. I spent a lot of my waking hours here during grad school and I miss that. These days, I pop in to pick up my holds, browse the shelves quickly, and dip. Get a library card if you don't have one. Yes, it's free. Bring in some mail that verifies your address. My dream job is in a library, although I do not dream of labor. So if you're the hiring manager and you're reading this- hello? :) Go check out some books!
