    Flight- junmai, nigori, nama
    Christine C.

We had a sake flight. It's a junmai, nigori, and nama. The staff was also very nice and gave us a small tasting of the unpressed nigori. I thought of the three, nama is the best. Deeper, thicker, sweeter. Junmai is similar to our typical sake. The nigori was oddly dry and not as sweet as most nigori. On the other hand the unpressed nigori is more like a typical nigori. You should def try the nama.

Chill bar with a large menu of 20+ different sakes. Definitely recommend getting one of their 2 sake flights to try different options before committing. They sometimes have a live band as well.

Its a nice hangout joint in Bushwick with great live performances and nice food pop ups on the side. Loved their sake-yummyyyyy! They also have outdoor space and on a nice weather day its so wonderful sitting and chatting with friends. Great spot for happy hours too.

As a lover of esoteric beverages, I'm thrilled I can now not only get locally brewed makgeolli for celebratory occasions in Greenpoint and make my own kir royales with cassis from the Hudson Valley, but can also enjoy an array of varied sakes made right here in Bushwick. I am no expert in sake, and so opted for the flight - in 2024, I think there are few more delightful ways of passing a late summer afternoon than over such a flight while people watching on Troutman Street. I recommend following Kato on IG as well, as they usually have pop up food stalls on the weekend and live music on occasion.

Yummy sake. Kind staff. Fun location. Hard to find any critique! Noting I'm not a liquor aficionado, so I will have a skewed perception about the quality itself. I have a big sweet tooth and enjoyed how a couple samples in the flight are sweet themselves. Good option for anyone who is indecisive/explorative/doesn't like the taste of liquor like myself.

Tasty sake! Lots of different types of sake. Great accommodating staff. Hit music! Coming back the next time!

I've come here a few times since throughout the soft opening and have always enjoyed my experience. Each sake they serve is delicious and the service is friendly. My personal favorite so far is the Yuzu one! Love the vibe inside, as it's bright and airy with some seats in front a few at the bar. Definitely planning on returning.

had no idea this spot was in the neighborhood! i love a good glass of sake and was interested to check out a spot that makes their sake right in brooklyn. went on a weekend early afternoon and opted for the flight to try all of the options-- the bartender was super friendly and explained the differences between the three types which i appreciated. dont know if id say i would choose to drink the nama again but the junmao and nigori were pretty good!

Popped in here randomly and it was a great decision. Overall a very fun bar in the bushwick area. I tried the flight, multiple single serve sakes and their cocktail. Very unique and enjoyable experience with great drinks. The staff is very friendly and cool people too.

Craft sake brewery with live shows, tastings and food popups. Very chill vibes. Fun collabs and popups are fresh and relevant. It makes me want to go back on a regular basis. Also great sake options obviously.

We've heard about this place for a while and finally decided to come try it out but is thoroughly disappointed. The sake was just not good, average at best. At first I thought maybe I'm spoiled because I used to work at a sake bar so I've tried a lot of top shelf sakes. But my partner who is not a regular sake drinker also thought it was bad. The sake weren't chilled right so you couldn't taste the crispness of certain sakes, and the nama (unpasteurized) lacked funkiness. And the nigori just wasn't cloudy enough for my taste. The vibe of the place is also off, it felt like we were sitting in some teenagers' garage, not a sake brewery.

Great sake bar in Bushwick. They make their sake in the back, and the place is a true delight. Wonderful place for meetings and friends.

A HAITIAN PIZZA BAR OF SORTS…read more One of my co-workers suggested that we meet her after work because: (1) It's walking distance from work...The equivalent of taking the long way home. (2) We both needed a drink after an eventful, extra long work shift. We got the rum punch which was good but too strong for a Tuesday. (3) I had a craving for Haitian-style herring so we shared a herring pizza. Please note I approached this slice with the most apprehension that I ever had in life and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Their pizza crust has an interesting crunch and flakiness to it that definitely giving homemade with a unique flair. The sauce was holding on to the generous amount of mozzarella while the herring and peppers were the shining star toppings. I enjoyed it so much that I would definitely order it again. If you are looking for a chill bar atmosphere with reimagined Haitian food classics to nosh on then come on in. Thursdays might not be so chill because it's Dance Thursdays and a DJ will be spinning Konpa chunes. It's work a try.

On the positive side, it's a very spacious bar and I saw board games stacked up, which tells me it can be a fun place to hang out. Now to the not as great. I sat at the bar and after looking at their cocktail menu, I ordered a French 75. You can imagine my surprise when I was served a drink in a single rocks glass which is basically what you'd serve an old fashion or other cocktail in. A French 75 needs to be in a flute. And at first, I thought maybe they don't have any flutes. Which still perplexed me because why have a French 75 on the menu if you don't have the right glassware. But I looked behind the bar and lo and behold, saw a flute. So not sure what that was about. The drink itself was ok. The other weird thing is that when I ordered, she rang it up and handed me the handheld device to pay. Since I was sitting at the bar, I'd expect to at least be asked if I wanted to open a tab or to just wait. Payment before the drink was made just rubbed me different. And of course, gratuity was tacked on, also rubbed me wrong. Because while I planned to tip, adding your own tip automatically to 1 drink is icky.

It seemed like she didn't want to be there and anytime I asked questions about the beer, she had an attitude like I was bothering her. I ordered a flight and I enjoyed the beers. They have some great tasting beers on tap. The music was great, it was a blend of 90's jams. They don't serve food, but they allow you to bring in your own. The decor was simple, felt a bit cold and the vibe was chill. It's a small interesting space, when we arrived it was just us and 2 other small parties. When we left, there was a chaotic stroller party happening in the back. The brewery filled up pretty quick on a Saturday afternoon, with one slow moving angry woman pouring beers, it took awhile to get a beer. If the woman behind the bar had provided better customer service, I might have left a higher scoring review. I really wanted to like this place. Will I be back, probably not.

I also had the Junmai Spritz, recommended by the bartender, made with umami/saki, strawberry, ginger, and seltzer. Described as, "Crisp and refreshing, with subtle umami from sake, bright strawberry fruit, and hint of ginger spice." They also have drinks featuring rye, whiskey, rum, mezcal. I came in for the vibes, but this would be great for a workspace as well.
