I was so disappointed in this barn. I heard great reviews about it but after further reading I saw that you got a free slushee for your 5 star review. I have a hard time with that because many people will leave the obligatory 5 star for compensation. They have a great variety of pumpkins at reasonable prices. That is the reason for the second star. That's where my love affair with them ends. You drive in and the sign reads "don't feed animals or they will die!" Ok I get the point but do you need to be so harsh? When you enter you see a lengthy sign that says something like this "we suggest you don't let your kids handle the pumpkins because if the stem breaks consider it sold. You have to buy it and if you can't abide by these rules then leave". I get the point 100%. You should buy the pumpkin if you ruin it but it doesn't need to be worded so nasty. Finally at the register there was nothing friendly about the girl. They advertise "support local farms" but couldn't say thank you when I did. I went here to support local farmers but I won't be back. You don't have to threaten people in such a rude manner. Ask kindly.

We felt for her, as she handled the situation professionally and provided excellent service despite the constant oversight. We wish her all the best. Later, when we went to get ice cream, Emily was just as friendly and helpful as Grace. Unfortunately, our ice cream was already melting and dripping down the cones when we received it. A kind employee offered to have them remade, and we gladly accepted. However, the replacement order was made incorrectly, and at that point we decided to simply eat what we were given. While both Grace and Emily provided outstanding customer service, the issues with the ice cream unfortunately put a damper on the end of our visit. As visitors from Oregon, we were excited to compare the experience to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. The visit started off wonderfully thanks to your staff, but the ending left us disappointed. Overall, we enjoyed our time, but in our opinion, Tillamook still holds the edge.

About 30 mins outside of Columbus near Orient, the farm is easy to get to. They are solar-powered, too, which makes my heart happy! They have an awesome team who works hard and always with a smile. The shop has great treats and gifts. They have SO many varieties of gourds and pumpkins, too. Some I've never seen anywhere else. You can purchase pumpkins from just outside the shop if you don't want to take the wagon ride out to the field. There's also a little tractor train ride for kids and a small corn maze (both for a bit extra, maybe $4 each). They have goats to pet and big hay bales you can play on. If you choose the tractor wagon ride out to pick your pumpkin, it's $10 which includes any pumpkin you pick/can carry - no limit on color, size, variety. They rotate their fields every year so we have seen different field areas over the years. This year we didn't see the bee hives they keep on our train ride out. I hope their bees are still doing well! And now my favorite: The pumpkin donuts. They make them fresh right there and they are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The donuts alone are worth the drive! They have chocolate and cherry donuts too but pumpkin is where it's at. I start thinking about these donuts in the summer, they're that good!! So whatever you do, don't skip the donuts!! Thank you Logstroh family for creating such a happy place for making memories. Here's to 40 more years!

The shop is full of goodies like handcrafted soap, fudge, jams and jellies, wood works, quilted objects and the list goes on and on. They had chocolate milk and even Creamsicle milk! I asked her if she would be willing to donate 5 for our event. I had the paperwork so she could use as a tax write off, instead of saying just no I received a hateful explanation as to why she refuses to donate to help people. Number one we are doing a benefit to help a lady who had breast cancer and now has a huge tumor on her brain...she is a single mother of 5 and is very sick. This lady tells me she has the best priced pumpkins around...the small pumpkins were 2.50, I went to aldis yesterday and they have huge ones for 2.49. So No! I gave this place my business every year....but never again will I spend my money there. She was absolutely rude and I hope to God she don't need help from anyone ever because karma is going to get her. The way she acted was disgusting! Like I wanted the pumpkins for myself. Nah lady, I own my own business I make money I already have my pumpkins for the season. I just needed to get donations to help a charity organization. Then her daughter got nasty with me on fb saying I was a jobless thief...all because I asked for donations??? It is hee choice on weather to donate or not but the way she handled it was very unprofessional. I do not wish her ILL but I can promise we won't be back and neither will my friends and family. I wish you the best for future business. But I don't see how you can keep business by just being rude. A simple "no" would have been fine. I never said the work you do isn't hard I know it is hard. But you was simply rude.

There are animals to visit and a small store with eggs, honey, produce, pasture-raised chicken, other local foods, fresh-cut flowers, and various books, clothing, and merchandise. For our event, they put up a huge tent, so we had breezy shaded dining. This was next to another covered structure, for a breezy shaded dance-floor. And there was a food-truck bar as well. In all, a clever use of their space for a fun comfortable event. We had access to their farm for self-tours, and i think there were guided tours and feedings, too, but we walked ourselves among and petted and brushed and fed the humped mini "zebu" steer, non-wooly Katahdin sheep, goats, mini horses, a mini donkey, mules, about six of rabbits of different kinds, and chickens. And beehives! We were there for a special event. The Gorman Heritage Farm is open to the public Mon-Sat for under $8 per person. Come see fun farm animals and products!
