Along with apples, they have pumpkins, gords, indian corn, and the most amazing CIDER!!!! They press the cider at the orchard!

For many, a trip to Karnes Orchard is like a walk down memory lane. This old fashioned family fruit orchard has a new generation of trees that are the perfect height to pick your own! Offering many of the classic orchard varieties (McIntosh, Melrose, Winesap), as well as some new favorites (Honeycrisp, Fuji, Pink Lady) you can stock up for all your fall baking and eating needs. The orchard owners run the market themselves, open every Saturday during the fall from 9am-7pm. They are always happy to answer questions about the apples or give tours of the orchard.

A variety apples. There were 4 types when we went. Trees are easy to pick and abundant. The apples were large as well! Cider was some of the best cider we've had before.

Lohstroh Family Farms - Mini pumpkin varieties by the shop

About 30 mins outside of Columbus near Orient, the farm is easy to get to. They are solar-powered, too, which makes my heart happy! They have an awesome team who works hard and always with a smile. The shop has great treats and gifts. They have SO many varieties of gourds and pumpkins, too. Some I've never seen anywhere else. You can purchase pumpkins from just outside the shop if you don't want to take the wagon ride out to the field. There's also a little tractor train ride for kids and a small corn maze (both for a bit extra, maybe $4 each). They have goats to pet and big hay bales you can play on. If you choose the tractor wagon ride out to pick your pumpkin, it's $10 which includes any pumpkin you pick/can carry - no limit on color, size, variety. They rotate their fields every year so we have seen different field areas over the years. This year we didn't see the bee hives they keep on our train ride out. I hope their bees are still doing well! And now my favorite: The pumpkin donuts. They make them fresh right there and they are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The donuts alone are worth the drive! They have chocolate and cherry donuts too but pumpkin is where it's at. I start thinking about these donuts in the summer, they're that good!! So whatever you do, don't skip the donuts!! Thank you Logstroh family for creating such a happy place for making memories. Here's to 40 more years!

The shop is full of goodies like handcrafted soap, fudge, jams and jellies, wood works, quilted objects and the list goes on and on. They had chocolate milk and even Creamsicle milk! We ended up taking home some apple cider and honey. We were also impressed with the friendliness of all who worked there. This family farm is one we will definitely visit again.

I went as a child and have been so fortunate to take my own child to Windmill for the last 11 years. Today, though, was our last day. $45 to get in for a family of 3 is nuts. Even if we didn't want the hayride, we still would've had to pay $5... $5 for the privilege of entering and spending more money. We felt so nickel and dimed the whole time we were there. You used to be able to pick out a pumpkin midway through the hayride, which was always our favorite part. They've taken that away because it "lets them get more people through the hayride faster," per the hayride driver that we spoke with (ie- we can make even more money, while offering a lesser experience). The cost of the snacks and drinks seemed exorbitant as well- $3.50 for a small styrofoam cup of apple cider?? Unfortunately, the charm this place once held has been dulled by their desire to just make money. The value for what you get for your money is just not there. All told we spent $65 to ride one hayride, eat some French fries/cookies and drink a cup of apple cider. We left without a pumpkin or any of the little decorative gourds we would've normally purchased because they'd already gouged us enough. Incredibly disappointed... I guess this long standing tradition has come to an end for our family.

I asked her if she would be willing to donate 5 for our event. I had the paperwork so she could use as a tax write off, instead of saying just no I received a hateful explanation as to why she refuses to donate to help people. Number one we are doing a benefit to help a lady who had breast cancer and now has a huge tumor on her brain...she is a single mother of 5 and is very sick. This lady tells me she has the best priced pumpkins around...the small pumpkins were 2.50, I went to aldis yesterday and they have huge ones for 2.49. So No! I gave this place my business every year....but never again will I spend my money there. She was absolutely rude and I hope to God she don't need help from anyone ever because karma is going to get her. The way she acted was disgusting! Like I wanted the pumpkins for myself. Nah lady, I own my own business I make money I already have my pumpkins for the season. I just needed to get donations to help a charity organization. Then her daughter got nasty with me on fb saying I was a jobless thief...all because I asked for donations??? It is hee choice on weather to donate or not but the way she handled it was very unprofessional. I do not wish her ILL but I can promise we won't be back and neither will my friends and family. I wish you the best for future business. But I don't see how you can keep business by just being rude. A simple "no" would have been fine. I never said the work you do isn't hard I know it is hard. But you was simply rude.

While they don't have an indoor restroom, I was grateful to find they had a very clean port-a-potty. Because that was the very first thing my toddler asked to do! This place is adorable! Their little house where you get your basket and then pay is so sweet!! There are chairs out front by beautiful flowers (talk about perfect for a picture). They provide small wooden baskets that hold two empty cardboard pints. The nice boy at the counter explained what was growing where and we were on our way! We came at a time where blackberries and raspberries were available. I have to say that things were pretty picked over on this particular day - while the bushes were decently loaded with berries, most of them were green. While I enjoyed the hunt this provided, my toddler eventually lost interest. Go figure. We ended up with one pint of blackberries. We visited the raspberry bushes, but there were literally only a handful left. They'd run out over the weekend, so that why we visited on a Wednesday. So make sure you check their facebook page or call ahead in case they close early.
