Lovely farmers market!…read more I've stopped by here twice, so far. Yesterday was my second visit. I was a little later in the time frame both times and may have missed some vendors. Or they don't have many - yet. But I hope to see it grow! It's on a pretty farm - where you can pick your own berries - and held in a nice barn/store on the property. Yesterday was nice enough that a couple of vendors were outdoors. Everything is locally grown/sourced. I've purchased a variety of fresh produce, local chicken & beef (they have pork too), honey, baked goods, herbed butter and fresh herbs, maple syrup & maple bbq sauce. I'm excited for the maple vinegar I got there yesterday and can't wait to use it. And fresh farm eggs! Once you have fresh farm eggs you'll never want to buy them from a grocery store again. They also have a variety of jams, dried mushrooms (I will be getting some of those the next visit!) and natural body products.

This included welcoming us to use one of their sanitizeed carts. After telling her this was our first visit to their farm, Melissa introduced herself, she then told us about the farm and the activities. Our first stop was the pumpkin patch. Melissa told us that if we were lucky we may still find blue pumpkins. These are "robin's egg blue Cinderella pumpkins." We carefully scoured the pumpkin patch for them to no avail. It looks like we were too late to find one. We did find some awesome orange and green pumpkins, orange pumpkins, a few white pumpkins, cushaw squash, and an assortment of small and large gourds. Activities are well spaced out. There are seasonal favorites such as a corn maze, hayrides and cutouts. Maps are available for the corn maze if guests are worried about getting lost. For 2020, hay rides are priced per person, with only one family in the wagon at a time. One unique activity is a giant trebuchet. Guests may pay to launch pumpkins from it. There is a play area with spaced out activities for younger children. Visitors are welcome to walk around the farm. They have sheep, chickens and rabbits. There is a creek behind the corn maze. Complimentary U-pick raspberries may be snacked on while visiting. Picnic tables are available to use. Prepackaged snacks are available for purchase. Some farm fresh goodies such as eggs and jam were also available for purchase.

The corn maze is fun for kids and adults. No muddy paths and it does seem a bit more challenging than I was expecting. It may be easier for kids to get through. There is an employee standing around the maze to help if someone gets lost. There were several craft vendors as well as a food truck during our visit. In the apple house, we tried the caramel popcorn, apple slushie, and some cider. All delicious. The apple crops overall had some challenges due to the weather this year but we were still able to get a lot of apples off the trees. Fun place for the kiddos.

Pringles is a minimal frills family-owned apple farm (blackberries in the summer, we're told). We stopped in at the recommendation of a family friend, and were glad we did. We came upon this place; not sure why we haven't heard of it before. Sad that our first visit was during this crazy time but we will be back! Great place! We purchased a bottle of the sweet blackberry- sweets are not normally our thing but this seemed like a good bottle to share. Purchased a couple more bottles to take home. The owner was VERY nice!! This is a great spot for the community:)

Sweetie got some lavendar for cooking. We shared a chicken salad sandwich that was excellent, though small, and a lavendar blueberry scone, also excellent. Baby K had fun, and there were plenty of kids there. A nice experience, but too far out of the way to be worth coming back for us. If you're in Wilmington or even Cinci, probably worth it.

I took the drive from Cincinnati- took about 1:30 to get there. I did some planning beforehand so I…read morewould know what trails to take. Credit goes to Ralph Ramney's "50 Hikes in Ohio". As I was getting close by I was definitely getting into Amish country. Neat. Arriving at 9:00 in the morning Sunday there was only one other hiker. I grabbed my bag and camera and hiking stick (monopod) and went straight up the Fort Trail that climbs about 400 feet to the top. With the sun glistening low on the horizon I got some nice fall colors, though I could tell that the autumn peak has past. At the top there were a lot of trees so the views below seemed rather obscured. The trail loops around the hill and you can either head back to the parking lot for a roundtrip of about two miles, or you can grab onto the other trails. I ended up taking a Deer and Gorge trail combo which meanders around a creek and some carved out rock formations. Some tips would be to grab a map either by printing online or the kiosk at the trailhead should have some brochures. A compass would be helpful since large segments of the trails go in one direction so you can judge where you are on the map. At trail junctions there's sign posts telling how many more miles it will take to get back to the parking lot. Being Autumn the Deer/Gorge trails is sometimes hard to make out since not as many take the trail compared to Fort. If that's the case just look for signs of diced up timber or spray paint on the trees. If you're totally lost just trace back where you came from or if all else fails just head north until you hit the road. Also the climb up Fort hill is steep so a hiking stick is recommended. The Deer/Gorge trails can get slippery because it runs alongside the main creek and also crosses some fingers feeding into the stream, so boots are highly recommended. After the hike I stopped by the museum and there's some displays about the history of the hill and surrounding area. There's a donation box inside as well.

This is the first year of the Old Milford Oktoberfest, and it looks like a winner! It's not big -…read moreonly a block long or so - but it has all of the necessary components of a legitimate Oktoberfest: an oompah band, German food, and of course, good beer. The Little Miami Brewing Co., a key sponsor, is located at one end of the venue, and it's only one block from the many restaurants and shops of downtown Milford. We are also fortunate to have beautiful weather today, which is perfect for this event. These elements add up to a thoroughly enjoyable event, which I look forward to attending in the future.

I wish this did have an actual barn feeling, so to connect with the name, but it looked like a typical steel support open floorplan building. So if you are having a reunion or family get-together this would be nice for multiple uses. However, this is located out in the sticks and in so I doubt the cost to rent may be worth it, but again I don't have first-hand knowledge of the pricing. There was food provided both at a concession area, which I did not try, but a family member brought back the typical nachos and cheese, so likely just the normal. The food before the show was not anything special and I am not sure if this was an in house catering job or another company, so I can't put much fault on the location. If it was an outside caterer, I would suggest that they procure a caterer worth the meal tickets, since the meal was $12, which I would give it $7-8. The show, again was not my desired performance, was very disjointed in its execution and WAY TOO LONG, 3 HOURS. The lighting was pretty sad, since they had at least 20 hanging spot lights, but they didn't use them effectively. The stage seemed to be may be a foot above the floor, which was not elevated and just the flat floor, making for the classic tall person in front of a shorter or kid situation. The seats were fine to sit in for the first hour, but with the food service runs at 5-6 and the performance starts at 7, which runs 3 HOURS. Yeah these seats were horrible for the duration you were using them.
