Our group of four friends has been visiting this wonderful urban establishment at the corner of Wayne and Jones for over a year. It has been fun to watch the vision taking shape. We first entered the finished Crafted & Cured space for craft beers and cured meat and cheese boards presented rustically and passionately. There is an adequate collection of wines as well. We also explored the retail spaces yet to come, all set about with collections of vintage furnishings in waiting. When we wandered into the space that was to become Glasz Bleu Oven, the home of a truly magnificent copper oven, Chip Kennedy looked up, smiled and said, " Hi. We've been waiting for you!" That was our introduction to a place we have enjoyed again and again. That first afternoon we were given a thorough tour of the areas that were to become Jack Luckey's Oyster Saloon & Caviar Bar and Local Hero Butchery & Fare. That deli market area is up and running. I could go on...
So yesterday my husband and I ordered Mediterranean mussels. We loved the tasty sauce with naan for dipping. Our table shared a fine portion of warm olives in juice with Feta. Delish! Our friends said the lamb dish was big enough to share. Plenty of tender, tasty lamb on naan with greens and thin sliced cucumber for a lovely fresh flavor. Oysters were tasty but not real plump. I think we both preferred the ones done in the oven we had the first time we tried them. Warm olive dish delicious and plenty big enough for 4 to share. read more
