The Siebenthaler Company rates very highly in the the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area. There is abundant competition. We like that the Siebenthaler Company has both a Beavercreek and Centerville location. We initiated our quest for 5 new arbor vitae seven weeks ago with a proposed sale of 5 new arbor vitae. Of course, that was a false promise. Clearly seems that the Left hand does not know what the Right hand is doing. Planting dates were delay, delay, and delay. Finally Will and team appeared only to experience more delay as Jeff loaded and delivered arbor vitae. Patience is a virtue and especially in working with Siebenthaler. All in all, a Great job, and new arbor vitae are beautiful. I have a water supply already set to water for the summer months. As long as one has patience, I recommend Siebenthaler. read more

The Siebenthaler - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Centerville, Ohio

This gardening/floral store is right next to my bank (Chase) which makes it very convenient (maybe too convenient). They even share the same main entrance. Being new to the area, I "needed" plants for my new place, so checked them out. As with most gardening//floral centers, some prices are good while others are too high. I bought an African violet for $5 (a decent price for a healthy, blooming plant) but paid over $30 for a hanging hoya plant (hindu rope). I knew it was pricey but I don't see this particular plant very often and really wanted it. I would have been ok with the price except I just happened to be at the local Walmart a week later and just happened to luck out on the same plant but bigger and with new growth for a mere $12. I realize I just got lucky and the health of the plant may end up being more questionable, but that is a huge gap in price. Other good points are the fact that they offer workshops that I want to check out. read more

I purchased over 300$ worth of product at this garden store. The trees, grass and flowers thrived , however 3 of the 10 heat tolerant impatiens failed to thrive. I have been informed by the garden center manager that she can not help me. She insinuated that the plants were not being cared for in the correct manner despite the fact the other 7 plants in the same flower bed were thriving. Her manner was rude and condescending. She had no interest in helping me, only wanted to tell me how wrong my care was. I simply wanted store credit since the plants were no longer available. I have been a loyal customer for several years but will never spend another dollar at that store. read more

They sell it all from trees, through flowers, shrubs to sod. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. All plants and trees are clearly labelled and the prices are reasonable. They have four checkout lanes inside and one or more outside, so closing the deal can be fairly quick. What a treat to visit in the spring! read more

I will never shop at Siebenthaler's Centerville again! I downloaded Yelp just to leave this review. I ordered a very specific mulch, Chunky black, and when it arrived it wasn't at all what I carefully explained to the clerk that I needed. When I called I was told they could send out the landscaper they contract through, but that they wouldn't do anything! I paid you! You should have made it right. Now I'm stuck with an entire truckload of brown mulch that looks like dirt!!! I will find a less expensive garden center with better customer service! read more

I seriously can't believe this place is in business. I'm all for supporting local businesses but this place is so grossly overpriced! I was really disappointed in everything from their stock to their customer service. The first time I visited them I thought maybe it's just the time of year (Christmas tree shopping) so I tried them again this past spring to add to my landscaping but after 3 minutes left and went to one of their competitors. If you want to pay 3xs over and treated rudely, then this is your place. read more

I purchased 3 fairly large trees from their fall sale in Beavercreek a couple of years ago. They did an excellent job of planting them. I had an issue with one of the trees and called them Joe came out and looked at it and offered me a one year extension on my warranty if the tree had further problems. Good to there word they did replace the tree with no questions asked in a very reasonable amount of time. I could not have asked for a better experience. read more

Nothing but great service and products from the Siebenthaler Company. Prices may be higher, but maybe that is because they warranty their plants for two years (if they do the planting). For large trees, it is worth it to have them plant it. We have purchased 11 trees from them over the past 6 years. One of these was a large maple. Two of the 11 died and they had no qualms replacing these even after the warranty had expired. They mentioned something about having had more than a few of that batch fail, so took responsibility for the replacement. Plus we take our children to their Easter Egg Hunt every year. This was the most extensive landscaping we have had done, so we really didn't know what to expect. Our designer was very good to work with and eager to make things as we wanted them. The problem came in their not starting until early July. As a result, we got some plants that were not as nice as I would have liked and some that were substituted because what we wanted was out of stock. I do think they are pricey, but I didn't get a comparison bid. I guess that is a "shame on me". I would suggest getting a couple of more bids and trying to get an early start date. read more

Exceptionally disappointing! If it weren't for Howard and Gregg in the Beavercreek Garden Center, I would have given Sibenthaler's zero-stars! We were looking for two trees to place in our front yard (show pieces) -- Gregg and Howard went above and beyond to help us find just the right trees! Although the trees were expensive compared to other nurseries we'd visited, Gregg and Howard personal involvement made the investment seem reasonable. That's where the "fun" ended! In the span of a couple weeks, the two trees we selected were lost on the nursery grounds, when finally found, one was damaged so badly that we had to choose another. The landscaping department is why we'll never go back. Tom came out and provided us a design estimate and to set up an installation timeframe. We then got a call from Josh claiming he'd been given the job to do the design estimate - we had to tell him that the job had already been done. The tree planting department called and set up a delivery/install date for the week of 27 Aug and that we should expect a phone call 24 hours in advance to set a specific time for installation. When we hadn't heard anything by Wed, 29 Aug, we called to see when we should expect the install - again, we were promised a follow-up phone call. We got no phone calls, so contacted the owner, Robert Siebenthaler, on 31 Aug to try and resolve the issue. Mr. Siebenthaler, provided weak excuses (e.g., awfully busy, paperwork got lost, etc.) and had no idea when his crews could actually get to us. Finally, he told us that if we weren't happy, we could always take our business elsewhere - which we immediately did. We realize that we were only buying two trees, but our initial $800 investment could have turned into many more projects if we'd been treated as VALUED customers instead of nuisances. Instead of being able to brag-on the Siebenthaler Company's products/services and simply point to our front yard as proof, we've warned all of our neighbors to avoid dealings with them. For such an expansive (and expensive) nursery, full of beautiful, growing plants, it's pretty obvious that service and respect for the individual customer has withered and died in favor of dealings with big, wholesale buyers. We will not go back or ever recommend them to a friend! read more

We're getting ready to landscape part of our back yard along a 60' fence line and this was the closest place to us, thought we'd check them out since we had never been here before. We went in with a notebook and pencil in hand so it was pretty obvious we needed info, no one greeted us, actually no one paid any attention to us the entire time we were there. We're pretty much landscaping idiots so we really needed some assistance and info, we got neither. A few employees walked by us, maybe they were helping other people, who knows, but not a word was said to us. We decided to leave and go elsewhere, glad we did. Upon talking to a family member about our experience, they told us that Siebenthaler was the most expensive place in town anyway, not quite sure why this is, it definitely isn't because of their customer service. Also, the plants at the other place we ended up going to looked much nicer than Siebenthaler's as well, shop around before you go here, better quality products and service elsewhere. read more
