My partner and I did tons of research on natural births before making Origins our home. I am more reserved - I don't really speak much until I'm comfortable. I process information and mainly focus on what's being said vs actually trying to hold a conversation. I'm aware that can come across awkward. Meanwhile, my partner is the exact opposite - chatty patty. Not once did the team make MY personality a big a deal and I found that to be amazing. As it got closer to the time for my partner to give birth, we had a few important questions. "What if we don't know what to do?" "What if she can't breastfeed?" I bought a formula keurig and stashed some formula just in case my partner had troubles producing breast milk and Gina quickly shut that down. She spoke life into my partner. Instilled confidence into her. Built her up and let her know about there were donation banks for breast milk IF it came down to that. Gina helped her focus on the positive! Bri and the rotating students had us PUMPED about giving birth. We were readdddyyyy! I recall telling Bri around the 40 week mark, "aye, I'm ready to get this baby out. What do we need to do?" Lol She laughed with me and made recommendations for my partner! Told me to holler at her at the next appointment if we were still pregnant. No need to holler though because it was happening. Rebecca and Rachel delivered our baby boy! It was a LONG day but not once did they seem tired, annoyed with her screams, or frustrated with her wanting to give up. Annnddd I'm pretty sure they didn't eat throughout her entire laboring process. If they did, they were slick about it haha. Maintained high energy and were extremely attentive. The love, care, support, and joy they gave us will never be forgotten. Ashley held it down for us the prior day and treated us like family. Made us feel comfortable with going home as we were stuck at 6CM foreverrrrrr! The transition between midwives was flawless. The follow up appointment, amazing. The recommendations for pediatricians, amazing. Communication throughout the entire process was top of the line. I can go on and on and maybe one day I will but I'll wrap it up with this... If you're considering a natural birth, origins is the place to be.

The staff were not attentive to me during my labor, and the midwives were barely present or helpful with assisting me in labor. My husband even walked in on me laboring completely alone during contractions and pushing. The staff did not speak to my husband or inform him of what was going on, and my family was not treated well during my labor experience at the birth center. We tried reaching out to the owners to tell them about our traumatic experience and the owner Gina completely disregarded us, and would not refund us any part of our fees even though we transferred care.

I…read morehadn't taken a yoga class in at least a year when I tried Michelle's Saturday morning vinyasa class a couple of months ago, and I was a little afraid that it was going to wreck me. Because she modifies the class for all levels and pays close attention to the needs of her students, the class was perfect for me. It actually inspired me to return to my practice of yoga. I've now attended classes with a couple different instructors, and have been pleased with all of their different styles. The common thread between the instructors at Sacred Soul seems to be a calming, almost zen temperament, which I greatly appreciate. For me, the most important aspect of the practice is the sense of peace and acceptance I feel during class, as well as afterwards. I attended the Yoga Nidra class last Sunday, and it was absolutely amazing. I suffer from an especially acute monkey mind, and the Yoga Nidra class at Sacred Soul may be the best nidra class I have ever attended in my life.

Thankfully Inspire Yoga was on the list of studios close by so I went to the Yin class with Abby. The room was warm, I wouldn't say super hot so we were able stretch out our muscles and not be sweating a ton. We did a ton of hip opening stretches with is always great when you do a lot of endurance sports. Overall this studio is convenient enough to check in every once in a while. But they do offer a wonderful variety whether you are just stating out or if you are an advanced yogi. They also have a lot of fun events (this location as well as the Grapevine one) so get in on one of those and enjoy! They also offer pretty solid membership packages if you want to attend more often.

The studio we were in for the class was really chill. Not what I expected. The lighting was dim with blue and yellow tones. I didn't feel as nervous after entering the room and not feeling fully on display. The Nia class was 30 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will most likely look at the calendar and pick some other classes here and there. I notice they do Pilates, yoga and things like that too. Lots of options!

No need to worry if you have never done yoga. This class is special, very focused on each momma's needs and Caroline spoils us with many treats and aromatherapy techniques.
