He also was critical in giving us advice on light fixtures, paint colors, bathroom fixtures, flooring options/colors---basically, he was heavily involved in every aspect of our remodel project. The thing I love about Paul is that he took the time to really understand my design preferences and then he provided design guidance to align with those preferences. With this remodel, he was able to bring our house forward from the original 1980s build/design to a much more streamlined, mid-century modern look and feel. I absolutely love how our home looks now. And we're currently working with Paul to redesign our kitchen, which I know will also turn out amazing. The last thing I'll say about Paul is that he's a pleasure to work with. This leaked behind our fridge and into our wood floors for weeks before the water level was high enough to puddle. We had a specific wood type that we were hoping to replicate. Thankfully Unique Wood Floors carried that same wood type. After my initial call, their project manager Jim contacted us to schedule a visit. We had our estimate less than a day after our visit. We stopped by their showroom in St. Paul and spoke with Michael who helped us view the flooring we were interested in. We placed our order for our flooring. Within a few weeks we were contacted for our installation. Our installer was named Al. More like super Al! Al tore out our old flooring which looked to be a very tough job. He then installed our new floor. As Al was wrapping up, first he swept the floor, then he was back down on his hand and knees with a towel wiping our floor clean. Wow. Talk about commitment. We were also impressed that Jim stopped out to check on the progress, then again after the install was completed to make sure everything looked good. Not only did it look good, we felt it looked great! I have to admit, I am very particular about how things look and our floor really looks great. I love how it looks and how it flows seamlessly from the Living Room/Dining Room space to the Kitchen and even in to the small bathroom. I have been walking on the floors barefoot since they were installed. The installer did a good job on the thresholds. Both the kind that lead to an outside door and the difference in the color of the plank into the bathroom space. The Owner Tina was great to work with. I will work with Seestedt's again when I update my stairs and upper level of my home. I see my hometown is listed as someplace in California. Not true, Saint Paul Minnesota suburb.

Until you are looking for a destination, you may not realize how close or where it is. Working in St Paul we have easily driven past Seestedt's a few hundred times going to work or Saints games. Anyhow we are considering remodeling our bathroom and based on my Yelpsearch, Seestedt's had some very solid reviews. Being that they are local and family owned are other key factors that we support. I had already done some research on their website to see what they had in stock. When we arrived we were greeted by Garrett and Clare. Garrett showed us to the area where they had their vinyl plank flooring. Seestedt's has carpet, vinyl plank and wood flooring and more. Garrett was very helpful answering our questions and explaining the benefits and different types of flooring we were looking for. We also learned that Seestedt's is in a historical building as we were shown the cut room where they used to cut the carpet decades ago. We were able to get a better idea of the colors we would like as this trip was more of information and check out the styles before we make our purchase. Seested's is also in the process of moving to a new location off of 94 and I believe White Bear Ave. They should be in their new location sometime between the end of this year or early 2019. His best foreman has drinking issues and one word answers for any questions. He doesn't teach anything - and that's not how a healthy crew operates. I was let go because, "I wasn't catching on fast enough". 3.5 weeks of busting my ass learning more from the finishers than "their best foreman". Awful setup for anyone looking to work here. They lie to you, communication is not up to par. In fact - its communication is non existent. You're expected to know names of all concrete tools and get an attitude all day from the "best foreman" they have. One word answers and shrugs is all I got when asking legitimate questions so I COULD progress. I was a lead mover for 4 years no stranger to labor. Dealing with a drunk hungover negative "foreman" - It's nearly impossible to operate with a foreman that's a serious drunk and the whole crew knows it. Hard 0/5 stars. Concrete science has a lot to learn about teaching their employees. Awful, embarrassing, and ashamed they should feel. Do NOT work here. For prospective customers - they take short cuts and verbally have stated "good enough" - "who cares" I was genuinely excited to learn from "their best foreman". Sad that I was put on his crew where I was left to my own devices to figure it all out. You'd think they would want their firemen to teach. Not to mention broken tools aren't replaced, the company isn't worth working for or hiring to do your concrete work. As with other reviews of this company (see google) I experienced the same situation. Zenon (the owner) comes off very sincere while he is selling the job; however once you have paid him, that's over. The person he sent to do the job could barely speak English (that was the first challenge). He could never tell us when he was going to show up or not, he would just show up "whenever" to do the job (just like the other google reviewer experienced). We had colored grout installed. After it was put in I noticed there were areas throughout where the grout was white and not colored. I called Zenon numerous times to address this. He finally showed up and looked at the work. He indicated that the grout was installed incorrectly and that he would get me scheduled to have it redone. It never happened. I called for 3 months. He would answer and tell me he was: just getting on a plane, was out of town, would call me back, etc. I finally told him I was going to take action, he said fine do what you want- and his last comment to me was unbelievable, he said, "did you really think I would come back and fix this, I never do." STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - TERRIBLE WORK- UNPROFESSIONAL.
