I can't recommend Kathy enough! After tearing my Achilles at the end of last year, I was honestly unsure how smooth or long my recovery would be. From day one, Kathy was incredibly professional and took the time to clearly explain every step of the process, which gave me a lot of confidence and peace of mind. Over the course of a little more than four months, she helped me rebuild my strength and muscle step by step. Her treatments were outstanding, and she always went above and beyond to answer my questions in detail. She also provided great tips and exercises I could do at home, which made a huge difference in my progress. Beyond her expertise, Kathy is simply a very kind and supportive person. She started out, seemingly as a great physical therapist, however, very quickly descended into creepiness. She definitely crossed boundaries. I highly recommend Kathy! As someone who does a lot of active activities, I am injured quite often and have been to a lot of physical therapists and Kathy is one of the best! First of all, as a sole proprietor, Kathy doesn't overbook her appointments and literally schedules a FULL HOUR with everyone. No assistants doing work on you half the time or having you do exercises on your own while she sees someone else, she's literally present and with you the entire time. Secondly, Kathy is really great at listening and tailoring a plan to give you what you need. For myself, my injured shoulder was particularly aggravated from playing volleyball/surfing so Kathy put me on a plan that started with easy motions and gradually ramped up. While all PT's will give you some sort of workout plan, instead of watching me do the simple exercises that I could do at home Kathy spent the extra time doing manual work on my shoulder and adjacent back muscles which really made a big difference. Lastly, Kathy's home clinic is very serene and peaceful, with super easy parking which really makes a big difference. read more

I've worked with a large number of physical therapists. Kathy's approach is different, in a good way. The clinic is inside her home so there's no medical feel to the environment. More importantly, Kathy is flexible, compassionate and empathetic in her approach. I have a longstanding issue, and Kathy is patient, checks in when I arrive and then adapts her program based on how I'm feeling. She incorporates a mind-body approach to recovery more than most PTs, supplementing the workout routine with music, affirmations, guided imagery and focused breathing exercises. For some, this approach may be a bit "out there" but for me, it's been most helpful. Kathy is 100% willing to meet you where you're at and is accepting, so you are free to go at your own pace. Sessions are an hour long so I don't feel rushed. Kathy accepts some insurance, including my P.P.O., so that's a big plus. The only drawback, for some, is that you must be able to climb stairs because the treatment rooms are on the 2nd floor. If you've felt frustrated or stuck in your recovery with other providers, I suggest you check Kathy out and try a fresh perspective. read more

During our first visit she gave me strategies to deal with my pain that helped quicker and more effectively than any other physical therapy protocol I ever had tried. I believe she is an intuitive healer - listening to the patient and knowing just what is needed. By her being very flexible with her approach and calm - she eases the mind of her patients which allows for healing. Kathy F. has instructed me on how to use guided imagery and also other pain management techniques to help my mental state assist with the healing of my physical ailments. My experience is with a 1/2 dozen PT's before discovering Kathy, who my Ortho recommended. No comparison, the PT clinics seemed to shuffle me through quickly and never really fixed anything. Having golfer's elbow, prior PT's had me doing some movements to strengthen the opposing muscles and then instructed me to hold some ice on the elbow. I can ice at home, don't need to be doing so during PT. By comparison Kathy educated me on the muscle imbalance, gave me some stretches and strength training exercises plus along with direct massage and a muscle stimulation machine, and other therapy, my multi years long battle with golfers elbow (which included Cortizone shots) was resolved in about 10 to 12 weeks. I have now seen her intermittently over the last 12 years, as other issues arise such as knees and lower back, and her approach has been a tremendous benefit to my overall health and athletic performance. You won't get this from your Orthopedic surgeon, or GP, and I never found a PT that came close. So if you are serious about rehab, and are willing to put in the time doing the necessary exercises she assigns, her PT work is truly life changing. read more

My experience with Kathy was awesome. I was suffering from a sharp pain underneath my right shoulder blade. It had been bothering me for over six months. My mother had had great experiences working with her during her knee surgery recovery so I decided to test her expertise with the shoulder joint. It only took two sessions to completely eliminate the pain. She used many unique techniques to loosen up my shoulder joint. After finishing my shoulder treatment, the pain has never come back and to this day feels well oiled. She showed me awesome stretches that has enabled me to loosen up other tight joints as well. Kathy is a born healer! I knew I was injured, but I felt the chronic pain was disproportionate to the issue. For about 13 years I'd been in and out of PT, which would help... for a little while. I was a bit skeptical at first when she told me there were probably elements and tiny things I was doing in my everyday life to exacerbate the problem; things I didn't think were relevant. She really listens. I feel like Kathy employs a certain kind of wisdom and compassion, on top of knowing her stuff. I love that she'll pull out an anatomy book and explain all these little muscles I didn't know about. The short workouts she's given me have been very easy to make into a daily routine with no fuss. Instead of the usual dreary clinic/gym, her home is calm, airy, colorful and welcoming. I really do get the feeling I'm being taken care of in that setting, so I'm less stubborn than usual! I thought I'd feel crummy every day for the rest of my life, but Kathy has taught me how to manage it and I now (only sometimes) have a mere *fraction* of the pain I've lived with for so long. Kathy is incredibly powerful when it comes to healing. I went to Kathy with a fractured pelvis, severe bone bruising on my knees, and back pain from an accident that I was in. When I first began to see her, she told me to tell myself every morning: "every day in every way, I am getting better and better" This phrase got me though the tough time of having been in an accident with such severe injuries. Her massage therapy has been extremely helpful. Along with massage therapy, she uses electrical stimulation therapy and ultra sound therapy for my injuries. I find all of these methods productive in the healing process. Along with exercises and stretches to practice at home, daily, that would strengthen my muscles around the injuries. With her help, I have been able to let my body heal and have slowly been able to get back to normal functioning. Her spirit and healing energy is felt during every visit. Without Kathy i wouldnt be able to run or bike or anything. She has put me back together so many times over the years after many surgeries. She gives each client 100% hands on work for the entire hour every single visit. She has consistently figured out my diagnosis when Drs didnt know what was wrong. With Kathy's guidance, I've come to see how the choices I make every day play a huge part in my recovery and overall feeling of well-being. She makes her treatment room a calm and relaxing place -- unlike the busy, chatty, multiple-therapist atmosphere I experienced during a very brief trial run with another local therapist.
