Best Facial Ever! I am willing to travel from San Francisco to Las Vegas just to have treatments with Kate. Most recently, 2 within one week. Eight years of treatments in her original location, San Francisco, had left my skin in spectacular condition. I am willing to travel anywhere to remain a client. You will not be disappointed. My wife recommended me to Kate Spa today Oct 19, 2023 and I have to say, for my first time getting a Men/Woman facial, ever, I have to honestly say for 1hr & 15 minute session, I felt pampered and felt out of this world. The professional equipment, hand movements and techniques Kate was using on my face was so amazing Kate knew what I needed and recommended that I come back to work on the problem areas. If you have any areas you want Kate to work on, ie: pores, blackheads, blemishes, wrinkles and more. Make your appointment now. Men or Woman!! I will definitely be back Thank you Kate for the awesome customer service and professionalism see you soon read more

I truly love Kate because she actually loves and cares deeply about her work. Kate has such a wealth of information & experience and is a leader in this industry. She is always experimenting and seeking out the best for her clients. I love just falling asleep in her ascetically beautiful calm space while she pampers my skin with massage and nourishment. The results definitely keep me coming back, well that and she is smart, funny and always kind. Thank you Kate! read more

Working downtown has its perks: walking distance to EVERYTHING, including my beloved Tru Spa, and everyone at the coffee shops and restaurants move at lightning speed. Unfortunately I don't work downtown anymore, and with my new work schedule and wedding planning, it's difficult for me to get down to Tru to get my facials. Luckily, I found Kate through the magic of Groupon, and she recently just moved to Bamboo Salon, which is TWO BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE. TWO BLOCKS. TWO. Her online reservation system is super simple, and with a few clicks, I scored an appointment for microdermabrasion/facial. She's very sweet, and does a careful job on my face. The downsides are that she's in a small room off to the side of Bamboo, so you can hear what's going on outside where the nail chairs are, and she doesn't do waxing, so I'll be sticking with Erika at Bare or Tru for my brows and Brazilians. Kate's also way cheaper than most other places in SF, so it's a win for my wallet and also a win for my face! read more

Kate was incredibly kind, helpful, asked all of the appropriate questions and was very careful/gentle. I was initially concerned that I'd feel like my face got licked by a sandpaper cat tongue, instead I left feeling refreshed and vibrant. Please keep in mind, this review is for a microdermabrasion/facial. read more

Kate was super sweet and unlike other places, didn't spend the entire session pushing her products. I bought the groupon for 5 sessions of microderm abrasion and Kate was super thorough when she vacuumed my face. She was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions on how I could improve my skin. I loved that she gave me a great neck and shoulder massage while I had the mask on. Definitely worth every penny! read more

Kate is a miracle worker disguised as an angel! Not only does my skin look AMAZING every time I have an appointment but I also feel so relaxed and pampered! After my first appointment I instantly knew I want to come back! So that's what I've done! Best facial I've had! read more

I've been going to Kate for a few years now, and she is the absolute best. She understands exactly what your skin needs, and adjusts the treatment each time according to that. I've also learned so much from her about skin and products during my time in her treatment room. I look forward to each facial with Kate, it's a very relaxing experienced and I know my skin is cared for. read more

I just had the BEST FACIAL EVER. I got a groupon for a Microdermabrasion facial. Having never done it before I had no idea what to expect. It was SOOO much more than just a microdermabrasion. It was heaven. There was a blueberry acid peel, then a facial massage, then the microdermabrasion, then extractions, another face and shoulder massage, one of those insanely expensive fabric masks, another face massage, pure oxygen facial and then I was done. I floated out of there never wanting to put a drop of make up on my face again. But the best part? The amazing Kate, of Kate SPA, showed me the pad from the microdermabrasion. She was like, look at what I got out of your skin.... OMG. It was amazing. On the tissue was a little fluffy pile of dirt. About the size of a dime, beige in color... It was truly an alarming ton of crap that had previously been in my face. IN. MY. FACE. Seeing it out there in the world was glorious and liberating. Now, I wash my face twice a day. I have one of those clarisonic brushes. I am currently on a two mask a week pre-wedding regimen (both interestingly enough, green) both of which detoxify and clean out my pores.I know they do. I see the difference after I use them. But I also live in a city filled with cars and people and all their gunk, and I haven't yet started wearing a Hazmat suit when I go out in public to protect my skin (the thought has crossed my mind.) However, like a long awaited vindication, on the pad on the tissue was all this stuff that this magic wand had pulled out of my face. It was pure bliss. I'm hooked. read more

My appointments with Kate are by far the highlight of my month! Kate is attentive, thorough, and customs her treatments for how my skin is at each visit. She continually seeks out new treatments with the latest products and procedures including an amazing oxygen infusion treatment which I recently had the good fortune to try. My skin feels and looks amazing! She also offers wonderful facial masks and LED treatments. Couldn't possibly recommend her more!! read more

I just did a microdermabrasion treatment today for the first time and I had such a great experience with Kate! I'm so glad I found Kate! She is very professional and provides a great microderm treatment. My skin has never looked or felt better. Also, love the location. read more

Kate was very professional and thorough. I got the 5 microderm series on groupon. I expected to wash the makeup off my face when I arrived (like other microderm places), but Kate told me that was what she was supposed to do... she started by cleaning my face, multiple masks, warm towels, microderm, more cleaning, extractions, more masks, etc. I would go back again and again. The service was super relaxing and all of her products smelled amazing. My skin already looks better! read more

Where do I begin? Kate has been the only person in two years to finally help my complexion. I have been to dermatologists, aestheticians, and anyone else that may offer me hope of improving my skin. I had all but given up hope that anything could be done and I would forever hate mirrors. As a last attempt I decided to try a series of microdermabrasion treatments with Kate....As if by magic a very noticeable improvement. I have now seen Kate twice and every day my blemishes diminish, fine and deep lines are all softer, and overall skin tone is brighter. I can not imagine what the completed transformation will look like by the end of the series. My skin already looks ten years younger and I will actually look forward to looking into a mirror again. This is the BEST money I have EVER spent and will forever sing Kate's praises! read more

WoW, Kate is wonderful! She's so good I had to create an account to Yelp about her. I bought through Groupon and I'm going to buy a package now. She definitely knows her stuff and doesn't do the hard sell crap! She got a new customer today. Thanks Kate! read more

Don't take me wrong - i rather would leave a good feedback as i liked Kate. However I feel that I do need to share my unfortunate experience with microdermabrasion performed by her. I bought the coupon on amazon - value $100 and I paid $50. Microdermabrasion was advertised everywhere as a procedure you take during the lunch break, and did not come to my mind that there might be any type of risk involved. I gave all information in detail about the cosmetics I use - some of them were exfoliators already. Kate and I agreed that she will spare the area around mouth and eyes (rather dry skin) and concentrate on cheeks where I have rather oily skin and open pores. The very next day my skin erupted - it was so red and itchy that I could not sleep all night. I had to go to the emergency room and was not able to go for a work the whole week. I called Kate and sent her photos. She offered to give me money back but also instructed me to go to the dermatologist. I did not take money back as I did not care at all about any money. I just wanted to look normal and be able to work. ER and dermatologist cost me several hundred dollars, which is of no significance here. I researched a bit internet after this incident and found out that microdermabrasion should be performed by medical person. Kate did call later to ask about the status and recovery, but then again she could not help. What I really did not like is that she told me after microdermabrasion (even without my skin erupting) that I would not see much improvment as my skin is already exfoliated and I in general did not need the treatment. Especially I did not like the fact that after I sent her the pictures of my skin all red and bloated and asked her - why did not she warn me. Her answer - ' You took the chance' (agreeing for the treatment just on the cheek area). I used Cortisone and my skin healed after 10 days or so. To my horror I noticed some new wrinkles, as the skin cracked on very sensitive area around the mouth. So sorry, but I feel that I need to issue some warning. It might be that I had this problem and nobody else will ever experience the horror I did. But just to let you know, that things can go very wrong. read more

Kate was my first microdermabrasion experience and definitely the reason I will do it again. She was incredibly sweet, patient, informative and professional. And did I mention she has magic hands? Girl has magic hands. Prepare yourself for an hour of luxe facial massaging bliss. The extractions were a bit painful but that was the be expected. Everything else was so great and enjoyable that overall was still an excellent experience. I was already planning to give Kate 5 stars afterwards but then I accidentally left my phone at the spa. (I was the last customer of the day) Not only did Kate give me a call back around 10PM, she kept the phone safe all day and didn't toy with it despite the fact it was going off all day. Definite sweetheart and professional who knows how to run a business. Would give 10 stars if I could! read more

I had the best facial with Kate, it was the microdermabrasion with oxygen facial. She walked me through the process, and provided me some great product advice. She was also super kind enough to extend her holiday discount, which was a nice surprise. I'm making an appointment for my mother, and will be back to see Kate on my next business trip to SF! My skin feels and looks amazing! Thank you! read more

Kate is a total sweetheart and takes great pride in what she does. I would recommend her to anyone! I had a few microdermabrasion with oxygen facials from her and she listened to my skin problems and people started to notice a difference in my skin as a result. She is a great communicator and the online booking system is very easy. The facials are very involved, I've been to a few where they leave the room for a majority of the time you're there but Kate is very busy with you! She is very detailed and wants to ensure you're comfortable the whole way. Thank you Kate!! read more

A great little place. Tiny but oh, so cosy. You feel totally pampered during your treatment. Kate uses great quality products and they all smell so good. She is meticulous and works really hard to make you feel pretty and relaxed. If I could afford it, I would be there every other week... ;) read more

Found Kate through Groupon for a half off microdermabrasion facial and I am going to be a returning customer. Kate made me feel so relaxed and at ease I almost fell asleep! Some places really don't allow you to really enjoy a facial as relaxation but Kate is so gentle yet efficient that the whole process is just perfect. She also asks questions to find out what would best benefit your skin and see what areas you may have concern with. I told her about some of the sun spots I have and she applied some vitamin c product she had to help with the issue. At the end of the facial she did not pressure me to buy more and was really nice with a simple "I hope to see you again soon." I asked her if I could book on my way out and she offered me a great package for coming back! read more

I bought a living social deal for microdemobrasion and oxygen facial and Kate was awesome!!!! The procedure is fantastic for anyone who wants brighter looking, renewed skin. Involved, cleanse and exfoliation, followed by the microdermabrasion, extractions, mask and facial massage, then oxygen facial and serum application. Her equipment is excellent, everything was clean and working perfectly. Products for the exfoliation and mask and serum smelled great and felt great. She was good with extractions - thorough but did not cause me pain. She gave me heads up like "this might feel cold or tingly etc" but at the same time I could just drift away with sounds of sea and birds music. The room itself is comfortable and soothing and it was both a great facial procedure with awesome results and a relaxing experience, which is somewhat of a rarity nowadays. Kate has great skills and is a very pleasant person. She gave helpful aftercare advice. Definitely coming back for more and recommending to everyone read more

I've had about 6 microdermabrasions with Kate. She is incredible - she does an amazing job, her location and salon are fabulous, and the products she uses smell wonderful. Kate truly gives the best facial I've ever had. She was perfect on service, technique, thoughtfulness, expertise... I don't see how I could go anywhere else now. She's got me. The entire experience was relaxing, professional, and satisfying. She was also very careful to ask about products I was using, look over my skin, and explain to me her concerns about how my skin might react. At the same time, she listened to me and gave me what I wanted. I know it's easy to gush in reviews, and I wish I could elevate this over the gushing that is out there. She truly is a special and gifted practitioner of her craft. I cannot wait for my next microderm. :) read more

I totally enjoyed my facial today - microdermabrasion and oxygen facial. Kate is professional, takes the time to explain the treatments, is gentle and efficient. I am happy to have been introduced to Kate Spa by a friend. I had been seeing the same, excellent aesthetician for 10 years with no complaints. I never thought of changing. Then I went to Kate for a Microdermabrasion facial and I've never looked back. I now see Kate exclusively. Her space is relaxing and comfortable, she is very knowledgeable and her treatments leave me looking great. And on top of everything, she is a lovely person. There is no reason NOT to book an appointment with Kate, You will become a regular just like I did. read more

I have been a client for two years and have been extremely happy with the microdermabrasion / oxygen facial. I am a faithful 'once a month' gal and at 57, my skin looks pretty fabulous. I do not see a dermatologist nor do I use $$$$ skin care products at home. A couple of months ago I tried the microcurrent facial with LED light. The before and after pics from just one treatment were amazing. So much so that I swore that in the coming year I would do a major series of treatments back to back. I had my first one this past Wednesday. Dermatologists be damned! Kate is amazing. She has kept up with all the latest technology and her treatments are highly personalized. Please visit her site to see before and after pics of her clients. I always feel wonderful and relaxed after a treatment BUT I also see results. And isn't that what we are paying for? read more

I purchased a Living Social deal for an hour microdermabrasion and oxygen facial. I always read reviews of spas before buying coupon deals online. Kate Spa had great reviews, so I took the plunge! Well....it was totally worth it! It was by far the best facial I have ever had. She took her time, explained the types of products she was using, and made the microdermabrasion experience easy. Furthermore, the room was quiet, tranquil and peaceful. I was glad she did not try to push me buying any spa products. I left with my skin glowing, smooth, and fresh! I have told my friends about Kate Spa and plan to go back for future facials. read more
